1. Location. Centrally located on the eastern seaboard, Greensboro is easily accessible from interstate 40 and 85, seven other major highways, and the Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO), which offers 36 daily flights with non-stop travel to 16 cities.
2. Hotel Growth. Currently, home to over 98 hotels, two new hotels since 2021, Hyatt Place and Hampton Inn. Boutique style hotels, Aloft and Westin, are coming soon and will be located in the downtown area. With these additions Greensboro will offer over 11,000 hotel rooms.
3. Accommodations. Our largest property features 985 guest rooms, including 70 suites and over 250,000 square feet of meeting space. • Greensboro was founded in 1808. Guilford County was founded in 1771.
• Greensboro was named after Revolutionary War General Nathanael Greene.
• “Gate City” and “Jeansboro” are nicknames due to the many railroads that intersected in the city, and Wrangler™ was built here in the 1940s.
HISTORY
• Greensboro is the site of the Revolutionary War battle at Guilford Courthouse led by American Maj. Gen. Nathanael Greene in 1781.
• The city is also the site of one of the most significant sit-ins of the civil rights movement led by four NC A&T University students on February 1, 1960 at the F.W. Woolworth’s lunch counter in downtown.

The Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts is a state-of-the-art multi-purpose facility with a seating capacity of 3,000 located in downtown Greensboro at 300 N. Since its opening in September 2021 through June 30, 2022, the Tanger Center hosted over 415,000 patrons and provided a wide variety of live entertainment including concerts from multi-platinum selling artists including Sting, Josh Groban, Patti LaBelle, Boyz II Men and Little Big Town, comedians including Chris Rock and Nate Bargatze, as well as a record-setting runs of Broadway sensations WICKED and Disney’s THE LION KING. The 2022-2023 Broadway Season begins in October 2022.
