Needham and his son over the summer of 1978, with the help of local skilled carpenters..

fresh water pond fed by a mountain spring. There’s a stunning view of Mount Adams from large picture windows on both the first and second floors, and
access to miles and miles of hiking and skiing trails in the area.
For other outdoor pursuits, the cabin is only 35 miles south of the Mount Adams Recreation area and 60 miles north of the Mount Hood National Forest.

• Wine tasting abounds throughout the gorge, and is referred to as “World of Wine in 40 miles.” There are 30 wineries and over 45 vineyards located in the gorge, most within 45 minutes of Timber Valley. • just 13 miles from the mouth of the Klickitat River for world class salmon and steelhead fishing. • bird watchers and photographers are drawn to this area by all of the birds migrating through. One of the largest migrations of the sand crane happens just 9 miles north in Glenwood at the Conboy Wildlife refuge. • mountain biking on the many local biking trails and the famous (to the locals) Syncline and Hospital Hill bike trails. For the more mellow adventurer there are also many hiking trails, like the beautiful wildflower filled Catherine Creek trail area.
