Predominant winds coming from the northerly direction. This influences the areas of seating as individuals tend to move away from high wind areas.

Diagram based on where people sit the most. This will influence the location of my wall as I want it to be placed to a place relatively used.

CHOSEN LOCATION

Intensity of gradient indicating the frequency of use. Ideally the location for my wall should be somewhere with high exposure to users of the space.

After analysing user behavior, I believe this is the ideal location for my intervention. The wall will provide additional shading from northerly winds as well as creating more seating for users. As users walk across, the wall will seem as it’s moving; following the theme of fluid waves.

SITE PLAN

The placement of the wall has created shelter from the prominent northerly wind. This allows users to use the wall as a blockade from the wind as well as using the wall a new seating loaction. The implementation of the wall to the location adds additional seating to an already heavily used location; therefore space is not taken away from the space. The location is visible from all prominent footpaths and as you walk towards or away, a sense of movement is created by the form of the wall.
