How Do I Receive The Baptism of the Holy Spirit The Apostle Paul earnestly wanted believers to experience “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” (2 Corinthians 13:14, ESV), because the more you know the Holy Spirit, the more you know the Father and His Son, Jesus. The Holy Spirit makes the Father and Son real in your heart and life. He wants to give you victory over temptation and anoint you with His power, wisdom and revelation. Prayer: “Father in heaven, my heart’s desire is to experience more of You. I ask You to prepare my heart to receive Your precious Holy Spirit.” How Do I Receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit? •

You must be born again. ๏ Before a person can be filled with the Holy Spirit, they must belong to Jesus and have His Spirit living in them. (Romans 8:9) You must ask. ๏ The Bible says if we ask for the Holy Spirit, our prayers will be answered. (Luke 11:9) You must believe. ๏ In Galatians 3:2, the apostle Paul asked, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?” You must believe that you will receive if you ask.
Prayer: “Holy Spirit, thank You for drawing me into intimacy with You. I want all Your works in my life. Please fill me now. I welcome You into my heart. I give You complete control and ask You for Your power in my life.” The Work of the Holy Spirit •

How Do I Receive The Baptism of the Holy Spirit Once you have experienced the infilling of the Holy Spirit, you may receive a prayer language. The gift of tongues functions as a sign of the Holy Spirit’s presence. In Mark 16:17, Jesus prophesied that tongues would be a sign. Paul also referred to it as a sign in 1 Corinthians 14:22. Peter noted how the gift of tongues consistently confirmed the validity of the Gentiles’ experience in the Holy Spirit. It is not a qualification for fullness of the Holy Spirit, but it is one indication of that fullness. Additional indicators include the other gifts of the Spirit as listed in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11.
