Successful Connect Group Leader Checklist When leading a new GSCC Connect Group, get off to a great start by checking off these items as you plan and strategize. These three things will set you up to be a successful GSCC Connect Group leader! Invite God Successful group leaders invite the presence of the Holy Spirit to each one of their small group meetings. Imagine you had a very special guest of honor visiting your home. You prepare a wonderful meal, work hard all day cleaning the house only to realize – you never invited the honored guest. In Connect groups, sometimes we can get ahead of ourselves and do group without inviting the presence of God. God always shows up to a prepared and expectant atmosphere. Invite People Successful group leaders constantly invite new people to their Connect group. Invite and welcome new people into your group and encourage group members to invite people who are inside and outside of the church. Follow-up on all group visitors within 48 hours. Once in the group, introduce people publicly at church to other people. People desire to know others and be known by others. Pray Successful group leaders make prayer a priority before and during the Connect group meeting. Make prayer a priority in your Connect group. Prayer is instrumental in helping to build a genuine relational community within your group and helping group members feel cared for. Through prayer, you’ll be able to connect with others more deeply on a personal level. •

Pray for those you invited.

Pray for their health, their marriage, their children, everything!

Pray for those who always have excuses not to come.

Pray for the protection over the location of the group meeting.

Pray for the prayer requests taken in the group.

Celebrate the praise reports!
