Outdoor Activities
✓ 76% of K5 girls say that doing outdoor activities is “A lot of fun” but less than a third (27%) of girls participated in outdoor activities “regularly.” (GSVC-Girl 2016)
✓ 21% of Unsure K5 Leavers cited “Do more outdoor activities” as one way we could make them stay (#2 choice) .” (GSVC-Girl 2017)
✓ Parents whose girls went outdoors at least once are more likely to say their expectations of GS were met or exceeded (85%) than parents whose girls did not go outdoors (53%). (GSVC-Par 2017)
✓ Parents have increased satisfaction and likelihood to recommend when their girls have gone outdoors at least 1x (81% hi sat & NPS=46 vs. 56% hi sat & NPS= 4 for no outside). (GSVC-Par 2017)
OUTINGS, FIELD TRIPS, EVENTS
✓ Parents are more likely to recommend and be highly satisfied when their girls have gone on a field trip/ outing or to an event at least once (78% satisfied & NPS=40 vs. 51% satisfied & NPS= -4. (GSVC Par 2017)
✓ The #1 way K5 Unsure Leavers said we could make them stay was to “have their troop go on more field trips.” (GSVC-Girl 2017)
✓ Though 78% of K5 girls say that going on field trips and outings is “a lot” of fun, only 23% do them regularly. (GSVC-Girl 2016)
✓ Successful troops do a mix of activities-- including badges, community service and outings. Struggling troops primarily do badges and cookie sales. (CEM 2017)
