The beautiful and breathtaking extravaganza that is Simon Cabaret at Patong Beach in Phuket just keeps getting better. It opened 23 years ago and this lavish production, featuring a host of performers in its own particular style of entertainment just keeps audiences of all ages and nationalities coming back year after year! The action is fast-paced with an incredible mix of singing, dancing and comedy that covers a wide spectrum of styles and inÁuences from around the world and the scene changes are truly stunning. Luxurious seating in a warm intimate theatre setting with the ultimate in high-tech sound and lighting equipment is the setting for this feast of entertainment, which constantly updates and re-invents itself, to remain always fresh and dynamic. From the moment the Àrst curtain raises the large stage becomes a feast for the eyes and ears as the show begins. And what a show it is! Marvelous sets and fabulous costumes showcase the glamorous and talented performers, glistening with sequins and shimmering with feathers that would not look out of place in Las Vegas. Musical numbers in a variety of languages are so engaging and you only have to look around at the entranced faces of the widely differing audience to understand the remarkable appeal that the production holds for people of all ages and races, in the cleverest way possible.
The show which I just enjoyed featured a wonderful mix. There was a marvelous stage set for a lavish ancient Egyptian number, complete with large Pharaohs and the most beautiful dancers that lit up the stage with their sumptuous jewel-encrusted gowns and ornate head-dresses. Then there were enchanting pastoral scenes featuring lovely music from China and Korea, complete with breathtaking choreography and national costumes in wonderfully colourful silks and dressings. Interspersed with these productions were trips to Brazil, with all the colour and movement of their wonderful carnivals, very modern showgirl spectaculars and even a great ‘Gangnam Style’ number that really got the audience dancing in their seats. The whole cast really engage with the audience and everyone got caught up in the magic of it all.
After the show there is even the unique chance to meet the artists and get photos of you and your friends with these remarkable boys and ‘girls’. There are three shows every day at 18:00, 19:45 and 21:30 and Simon Cabaret rightly deserves its high place in Phuket’s ‘must see’ list - you will not be disappointed. Getting to know
Director of Tiger Muay Thai Tiger Muay Thai on Soi 5 off ChaoFa West Road is a truly amazing enterprize dedicated to health, Àtness, good diet, sociability and camaraderie. Will Elliott Àrst went to the Tiger camp to train, but soon became a dedicated disciple and then joined them as one of their executives. We caught up with him at the Tiger Camp.
What Àrst brought you to Phuket and the Tiger Camp? Like so many people I fell in love with Phuket from the Àrst day. Pristine beaches, amazing food, fresh air, blue skies and of course world famous Thai hospitality won me over. Fitness and martial arts have always been a passion of mine so Tiger Muay Thai was a natural Àt. My Àrst visit to Phuket was in 2006, combining training and well deserved holiday. I kept returning (Àve times). I was offered a job at Tiger Muay Thai in 2009. I thought I had better take the opportunity or I may regret it when I am old. I have not regretted the decision, it has been a life altering adventure ever since. Tiger Muay Thai is so much more than just about Muay Thai. We have everything the training customer wants and desires: Muay Thai, MMA, Cross Fit, Body Fit, Western Boxing, Yoga, strength training and even meal plans. No matter what your level is, we work with you to help all guests reach their goals. There is such a friendly atmosphere at Tiger it actually feels more like a big family. We are constantly encouraging each other on and working together. Tiger started small with one ring and one trainer. Now we have one of the biggest collections of experienced Muay Thai Àghters/ champions in the free world. Our MMA program is headed up by UFC veterans Brian Ebersole and Roger Huerta. Our Brazilian JiuJitsu program is headed up Fernando Maccachero a 4th degree black belt from Brazilian Top Tean in Rio De Janiero. These guys are heavyweights and we are proud to have them as a part of our team. How Does Tiger Approach Each New Member? Every new guest is greeted with a personal assessment to determine reachable goals and training direction. We cover everything from lifestyle, diet, current conditioning, skill set and even mental aptitude.. Then we develop a plantargeted speciÀcally their goals. Once they start www.theguidephuket.com
working out with us and our great team of experts and champions, we give them lots of clear ongoing feedback to keep them motivated and progressing. We also have lots of social offerings like island outings, activities and on the last Saturday of each month we have Phuket’s best party with our highly successful BBQ Beatdown open to the public. What Sorts of People Join the Camp? You would be amazed at the diversity of Tiger guests. Sure we have champion Àghters, but a majority of our guests are into Àtness, health and overall well being. People from all over the world visit us and the multi-cultural atmosphere is awesome. Age is also not a barrier when it comes to success living through proper training. Muay Thai has become a new sensation for Àtness. It encumbers all people and encourages positivity. What Makes Tiger Different? We are recognized as the premier Muay Thai and MMA training camp in the world, with more facilities, equipment and space and the absolute top trainers and champions in all of the key disciplines. There is no other place to get such a well rounded Àtness experience. We even have a celebrity Àtness chef to ensure healthy but delicious food. What is the Overall Goal of the Camp? We provide the ultimate Àtness and training opportunity and support to meet the needs of each and every individual. Each day at Tiger is never “ordinary” and while we never say it’s easy……it is always worth it. In one sentence I would say Tiger is all about making each individual “the best version of themselves they can possibly be”. The GUIDE to NIGHTLIFE
!
The Nightlife in Phuket is unique and not to be missed. The cauldron of action of action is centered on the Àery beach front on the southwest side in the infamous Patong. Beach area. The nightlife in Patong never fails to attract curious visitors every evening. Like a magnet, all are attracted to Soi Bangla, the heart of the bar scene. The ever enchanting bar girls, neon lights and exaggerated sound systems compete for the attention of all who fail to resist pleasures of Bangla.
THE GUIDE’S HOT PICK OF
RED HOT CLUB
PATONG
SEDUCTION BEACH CLUB
Sexy and stylish are two words you will instantly relate to once you have visited Seduction. It promises big nights out and it delivers regularly. The Àrst Saturday of every month is a “must-attend” for all serious party goers Seduction is the very best Phuket has to offer in terms of quality international DJ’s and high tempo club nights. If you’re looking for the clubbing scene then Seduction is the place to be.
New to the constantly evolving Bangla is the Red Hot Club. Bringing with it a host of quality live music from their very own house band and a welcoming theme and environment that seems to capture the ambience of a Canadian or Austrian wooden chalet, set high in the mountains where drinks are plentiful and good times are rife. The house band of seven includes several individually talented performers and the two ‘front men’ interact with the crowd all night on stage and off stage whilst producing quality vocals. It’s easy for these two to take all of the crowd’s attention. That is until the solo guitarist and the soulful reggae vocalist get their turn to impress the passionate spectators.
Phuket Town boasts a good selection of bars and more relaxed watering holes. With its own character, it offers more authenticity and space when compared to the crowds of Patong and a great night out can be had by all with a little help and a small push in the right direction from The Guide.
THE GUIDE’S HOT PICK OF
PHUKET TOWN
TIMBER HUT
ROM DEE
With two Áoors, each with its own bar and seating areas, you can stand on the balcony and watch the band ignite the crowd, or be captured by the energy on the ground Áoor leaving you with no choice but to dance and have a good time.
ROCKIN’ANGELS
Timber Hut offers arguably one of the best atmospheres in Phuket. Exceptional live music and popular bands play in the center of the venue surrounded by a welcoming crowd all moving to the music.
SANAEHA
The trendiest hangout in Phuket Town, complete with a chic and sophisticated setting, this is the perfect spot to impress a date, or enjoy with a small group of friends. With crisp off an endlessly stylish feel. This fashionable venue features live music several nights a week offering an intimate yet exclusive atmosphere
Rom Dee is a small bar that caters for those wishing to get away from the extravagant music of the larger venues. Located next door to Sanaeha, Rom Dee is a quaint place for drinks and cozy conversation. A popular alternative to the powerful dance clubs and lively bars, Rom Dee suits locals and tourists alike. Not just another live music bar, Rocking Angels brings together musicians of Phuket and from other nations who all wish to Jam and participate. The owner leads by example, happily taking requests and having a huge passion for playing all night long. The main focus of the music normally circles around Blues, Rock and Roll and Roots however don’t be surprised to Ànd that the Blues inÁuence will take over as the night goes on.
Capannina Restaurant Continues to Shine! CAPANNINA restaurant is located near the central parking area of Kata Beach and draws a huge number of loyal customers who dine there over and over. Here is a typical testimonial from one such happy patron! My husband and I have lived in Kata for over 10 years and we go every week to CAPANNINA….either the two of us, or with friends. In my opinion, they serve the best pizza in Phuket, with a wide choice and exceptional quality, or you can even choose a pizza with two different types of topping. Mario is the boss and it is his knowledge and expertise in cooking that makes all the difference at CAPANNINA. The pastas are all excellent, with many kinds of sauces and accompaniments. I recommend especially the “penne” with four cheeses, spaghetti seafood “scolio red sauce” or the tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms. The preparation of these dishes and their cooking is always perfectly “al dente” and a real treat. Assorted meats, various salads, typical Italian dishes, calamari and fried shrimp, grilled mixed vegetables, melanzane, and many others...when I think about it CAPPANINA seems to offer it all! Finally, don’t miss the hot fudge chocolate cake, unless you prefer the tiramisu, or delicious many Áavors of ice cream. The prices are reasonable and you can have the wine by the glass or by the bottle, with a very good Merlot at 1,000 Baht or a Montepulciano at 1,200 baht. The atmosphere is very friendly, typical Italian style always full of life and energy and of course great food! Brunch upoɚ a time .... ...there was Twinpalms
Twinpalms is located close to the sands of gorgeous Surin Beach and adjacent to “Millionaire’s Mile” and reigns supreme as one of Phuket’s most fashionable resorts. In many ways it is the epicenter and social barometer of all things trendy in Phuket. It’s as if on the Phuket social scene Twinpalms leads and then the rest of the island falls into line and tries to keep up. Certainly it was this way with the bringing of a revolution to Phuket’s tranquil Sundays in the form of something called “doing brunch”. When it was Àrst introduced to Phuket in the early “naughties” this latest social and gustatory phenomenon was as much about dressing up in one’s Ànest and going out to “see and be seen” with the island’s glitterati, as it was with the grazing on the bounteous buffet of wonderful foods. Twinpalms brunches soon became legendary as “THE” place for Phuket’s high rollers to partake in Sunday’s longest, most languorous indulgence in Àne food and wine. If that weren’t enough, the lovely beach and the resort’s Catch Beach Club are just a short canter away and so Sunday afternoons easily segue onto the sands and continue into the sunset hours. As you wander into the relaxed open space that is the Oriental Spoon Restaurant you’ll see the limpid pools of water, hear the sophisticated background sounds, see the lovely smiling
staff and realize this is going to be a long, lovely Sunday in Heaven. Just grab a complimentary Bloody Mary to dispel Saturday night’s cobwebs and you’re away. The abundant spread of crab, clams, lobsters and imported oysters on ice are amazing and a good place to start. The sushi and sashimi are so fresh and tasty that they also have to be savored. Then there are the brimming salads, both pre-mixed and with the basic materials for the DIY enthusiast with all sorts of sauces and… Oh Joy!….. artichokes and sun-dried tomatoes to die for. The famous Swiss Raclette cheese is a specialty that you won’t want to miss. Try it with meted with fresh cut ham and melon for a superb starter. A successful Twinpalms brunching experience takes careful planning and judicious timing. There is so much on offer and much of the “I-can-resist-anything -except-temptation” ingredients are in the Ànal furlongs, so you MUST pace yourself. Think about the chocolate fountain with fresh berries and fruits and the famous crème brûlée, or traditional Thai mangoes and sticky rice and a panoply of ice-creams and you’ll soon realize why the hardened Twinpalms bruncher plans the afternoon with strict precision. And it’s not over yet, on offer is one of Phuket’s Ànest selections of cheeses with breads, biscuits and grapes and heaven-sent complementary Taylor’s Port just to conÀrm that you’ve discovered Nirvana. Most Sundays there won’t be a single table free so advanced booking is certainly recommended. The Twinpalms brunch costs 3,490 baht++ per person, including a bottle of champagne per couple. Or 1,490 baht++ per person, including a bottle of wine per couple. Or 1,190 baht++ per person, for brunch alone. Just call +66 (0) 76 316 500 or email book@twinpalms-phuket.com for reservations.

WINE
DINNER
UMANI RONCHI WINE DINNER AT SOFITEL KRABI PHOKHEETHRA GOLF & SPA RESORT We recently enjoyed a fabulous wine dinner at the lovely Venezia Restaurant at SoÀtel Krabi Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort, who are distributors of the renowned UMANI RONCHI winery in Italy. This winemaker is located in the Marche and Abruzzo regions, where they own 250 hectares of prime wine growing land, comprising 12 different plots, each one with a unique characteristic of “cru” and other grape varieties. After a very warm welcome from the hotel’s management team with an aperitif, we had the chance to try Àve different wines served with delicious dishes prepared by the talented chef IndrajitSaha. To start our gourmet evening we sampled Vellodoro 2011, which is white, light and delicate, and blended perfectly with rosemary grilled scallops, bean puree and, quenelle avocado.
This was followed by Vecchie Vigne Casal di Serra, which is white wine, a little stronger but harmoniously balanced with the chef’s recommendation of a marinated slow roasted snapper with a tomato and rocket salad. For the main course we were treated to a San Lorenzo 2009, which is a fruity red wine, accompanied by roasted pork ribs, Massa man potatoes and a tempura of asparagus. This was followed by a Costamorro 2007, a red, highly perfumed and tasty Montepulciano that complimented a deliciously rustic dish of lamb rack tagine with eggplant. For dessert we tried Maximo sauvignon blanc 2009, a sweeter wine that went very well with the chef’s offering of walnut tart with black and white chocolate and lemongrass ice cream. During this wonderfully romantic dinner the French-Thai tenor, Yves Baron, entertained us with some Italian operatic songs and, with the outstanding service and wonderful food and wines, an excellent evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all, in the warm ambiance of a wonderful restaurant.

RarinJinda Wellness Spa Phuket Paradise for pampering and wellness
Not only that RarinJinda Wellness Spa, a multi-award winning World-Class Spa, offers spa treatments and massages for relaxation and pampering, it also offer various wellness treatments, such as Colonic Detox and Infrared Sauna, to help balance and rejuvenate the Mind, Body and Spirit. Hydrocolon Therapy (Colon Cleansing, Colon Irrigation, DetoxiÀcation) is a great way to start a new health & wellness program. It is the process of gentle cleansing the large Intestine (Colon) from toxins, chemicals and cancerogenous substances. Colonics offer relief from a variety of disturbances by cleansing the colon of impacted and putrefactive faecal matter. Fatigue, gas, headaches, irritability, skin problems, cold hands and feet, lethargy are among the problems people
www.theguidephuket.com
have found relieved by colon cleansing. Your sense of well-being is often dramatically improved with colon cleansing. You feel lighter, more energetic. The body can again assimilate food in the colon and better defend itself against disease. On the other hand, the radiant energy produced by an infrared sauna is the same as heat from the sun, with the exclusion of the ultraviolet rays. A heat source emits infrared waves that penetrate and relax the body as increased blood circulation warms the skin. A Áood of sweat and toxins is released through the skin’s open pores as the warm blood circulates deeper throughout the body. The infrared sauna is a powerful means of cellular cleansing as it increases metabolism and blood circulation. In addition to its

So SPA with L’Occitane Soƥtel Krabi Phokeetra Golf & Spa Resort
After a long and hectic week, my family and I Ànally got a chance to take a weekend breakaway from Phuket to visit the SoÀtel Krabi Phokeetra Golf & Spa Resort, to refresh our energy and enjoy some relaxing time together. I had my little girl with me on this trip, who is 6 years old, and I wanted to have some peace and relaxation at the spa. I didn’t want to leave my daughter at the kid’s club, so I decided to visit the SoÀtel spa to see what they could offer us. Here I met with the gracious spa manager and she suggested that my daughter and I might like to try out one of their specially designed treatments
which are suitable for children. I selected the treatment called “Mommy & Me”, which is the most favorite at the moment, and prepared to be pampered. When we entered the luxurious treatment room our therapists gave us a foot-bath which was warm water mixed with aromatic herbal oil that felt really good and relaxing. Then the treatment continued with the red rice body scrub for me while my girl got to enjoy a choco wrap. The sweet-smell of the choco wrap made my daughter so happy and delighted and I believe that any mother would be thrilled that their child can be so joyful.
Health & Beauty
After that the therapists prepared us a fun bath together in the massive warm tub before we both looked forward to the next step which was the aromatic oil massage for both of us. My daughter really enjoyed her soothing massage while I totally relaxed into the warm coconut soother massage. My therapist applied coconut oil to my whole body and then continued with the warm herbal pot compress in order to release tension from my stiff muscles. This warm herbal compress contains a special blend of clove and eucalyptus oils which both have a beautiful aroma and possess the properties to keep one at an amazingly deep relaxed level. My therapist continued with a gentle Thai relaxing massage that made me sink deeper into a blissful haze.

Our 90 minutes treatment certainly went very rapidly for us and, when it was over, our therapists prepared some hot teas and cookies for us before politely bidding us goodbye and leaving us to enjoy our snack. Four Styles of Yoga Physical postures, breathing and meditation are the main elements that make up yoga practice, but there are a number of different styles and each one focuses on particular techniques to create a flexible body and open mind. Yoga is based on ancient Indian philosophy and therefore represents far more than exercise. In many cases, teachers describe yoga as a form of meditation and some believe it is the first step towards enlightenment. Modern yoga styles often combine elements of the more traditional forms and some yoga centres on Phuket also now offer personalized programmes designed to meet individual needs.
Hatha Yoga A system of yoga introduced back in the 15th century by a sage called Yogi Swatmarama; Hatha is considered the original system of yoga and is still the most popular form practiced today. Several other styles have since developed out of the Hatha postures and breathing, each adding their own variations. Hatha Yoga is essentially designed to create balance between the body and mind. It combines physical and spiritual elements through poses called Asanas, as well as breathing techniques called Pranayama, and meditation. The regular practice of Asanas helps practitioners develop muscle flexibility and bone strength, but also brings non-physical rewards such as increased powers of concentration and self-control. Ashtanga Yoga Ashtanga Yoga is distinct from other styles of yoga as it uses a combination of breathing and movement known as Vinyasa. The system was developed by K Pattabhi Jois and the poses are designed to develop the body’s health and strength. Each pose flows into the next and is accompanied by one, slow breath. The movement in Ashtanga also means it can be is more intense than other styles of yoga and practitioners generally work up a sweat. This creates heat and helps
www.theguidephuket.com
bring out toxins from the body to produce a form of natural cleansing. The breathing technique used in Vinyasa is even and steady, the aim being to achieve perfect balance between the length of inhalation and exhalation. Ashtanga postures are classified into three different series, based on their level of difficulty. The Primary Series aims to detoxify and align the body. The Intermediate Series focuses on cleaning and opening the energy channels, which leads to purification of the nervous system. Finally, the Advanced Series is sub-divided into A, B, C and D postures, which integrate the overall strength and grace of the practice, leading to perfect balance. Kundalini Yoga Kundalini Yoga was introduced to the West by Yogi Bhajan in 1969 and concentrates on the release of dormant energy that sits at the base of our spine. This energy is likened to a coiled snake, and the name “kundalini” is actually Sanskrit for “coiled up”. The ultimate goal of Kundalini Yoga is to awaken this “snake” and send it moving up your spine all the way to your brain. For that reason, it is said to be the most powerful form of Yoga known today and can result in a sublime state of ecstasy and heightened awareness. The practice of Kundalini Yoga includes both yoga poses and meditation, but the main focus is more on chanting or mantras, combined with Pranayama breathing techniques. Once awakened, practitioners say they feel a

variety of pleasurable and less pleasurable sensations. The pleasant feelings include tickling sensations along the spinal cord, sudden feelings of joy, and even visions. The less enjoyable kind may cause trembling, waves of heat, even some pain along the spine. Some yogis say that an awakening the Kundalini is the beginning of true enlightenment. Bikram Yoga Bikram Yoga is named after its founder Bikram Choudhury and is a series of 26 poses performed in a room with temperature of 105 degrees Fahrenheit. A variation of this style is sometimes called Hot Yoga and the heat allows you to go deeper and safer into challenging yoga postures. Heat also removes the risk of injuries and promotes sweating, which helps you release the toxins in your body.
Each yoga pose in the Bikram style is usually performed twice and held for a certain period of time. Yoga Sessions start from Standing Postures, and then move on to backbends, forward Bends, and twists. The poses are accompanied by Kapalabhati Breath or the “blowing in firm. The Bikram yoga poses not only work on your muscles but also on your internal organs. Each pose stretches and strengthens your muscles, joints, and ligaments and, at the same time releases the toxins and work on your internal organs like the glands and the nervous system.

Andaman
GETTING TO KNOW the Southern Andaman Region of Krabi, Phi Phi and Koh Lanta
as it could actually be classiÀed as a mud Áat, especially during low tide. The main attraction for visitors to Railey Beach is the adrenaline pumping activity of cliff climbing. The limestone cliffs on the huge headland between East of Railey Beach and Phra Nang cave, as well as other nearby islands provide world-class rock climbing facilities against a stunning backdrop of the sea with approximately 700 routes of mid to high difÀcult rating. Pra Nang Beach Connected to Railay by a small path, Phra Nang is on the outermost headland, backed by limestone cliffs soaring above the beach. At the bottom of the cliff lies the Princess Cave or Tham Phra Nang Nok where local Àshermen leave offerings for good fortune. Three hours drive south from Phuket through stunning limestone cliffs and dense forest brings you to the southern playground of the Krabi region of the Andaman overlooking Phang Nga Bay with its many scattered islands, hidden bays and beaches. Throw away your watch and bask in nature’s beauty or snorkel, dive, rock climb, Àsh, kayak, hike, sail, party, spa or wine and dine to your heart’s content – this region has it all. Ao Nang Beach Just 18 km from Krabi Town is beautiful Ao Nang with its 83 scattered islands. Each island is only a short distance from the next and so during low tide you can wade to a neighboring island, many with sandy beaches and crystal clear water and majestic limestone cliffs rising straight from the clear waters of the sea. Ao Nang has several famous beaches including East Rai Le, West Rai Le and Phra Nang cave which stretches to the foot of a prominent limestone range. Noppharat Thara Beach Just 20 km west of Krabi and three miles long, this beach is lined with majestic Casuarina trees and is in fact part of Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Koh Phi Phi National Marine Park and is the location of the Park headquarters. As with Ao Nang, it’s possible to reach other islands in the bay on foot during low tides. Railay Beach This beach is generally divided into two sections, east and west. West Railey provides visitors with peace and quiet as it is a broad sandy beach with fewer facilities than Ao Nang. East Railey which lies across the peninsula from West Railey is different from other beaches in the area
www.theguidephuket.com
Klong Muang Beach/Tubkaak Krabi’s latest beach destination, Muang Klong boasts both 5-star and boutique hotels like the Sheraton Krabi Resort, the Nakamanda and the Tubkaak Resort and offers powderwhite sand and safe swimming. The Lanta Island Group About 53 islands are included in this group situated at the southern limit of Krabi Province. Koh Lanta Yai is the largest and is both a traveler’s and up-market vacationer’s paradise and is as yet relatively undeveloped. You can get to Lanta on the regular ferry from Jao Fah Pier in Krabi Town. The prime attractions are its long beaches, clear water, laid back atmosphere and scuda diver’s paradise where most of the nicest beaches and tourist attractions are located. The Phi Phi Islands Known for phenomenal natural beauty, particularly the famous twin bays with their the curving beaches upon which lies the largest town. Phi Phi islands are some of the most beautiful in the world with superb scenery, silvery sand beaches and Emerald green seas with coral reefs and an abundance of marine life. Hardly two hours journey by boat from Ao Nang, the twin islands Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh provide excellent accommodation options and are known as major “party islands.” Poda Islands Situated south of Ao Nang, 8 Kilometers offshore, Koh Poda or Poda Group Islands are fringed by clear waters and offer white sandy beaches, as well as, pristine coral reefs. These islands are not affected so much by the monsoon therefore are year-round attractions and an excellent place for Àshing. Poda island with white sand beaches and clear turquoise seawater abounded with schools of colorful Àsh.

HIGHLIGHT ATTRACTIONS.. Emerald Pool Emerald Pool or Sra Morakot in Thai is located at Klong Thom District. This hot spring originates from a warm stream in the lowland forest. The intensity of the pool’s turquoise colored water varies according to the light and time of the day so a good time to visit is at dawn or early morning.
Bird Watching A trip to Krabi can be a very rewarding visit for any bird lovers. With easily accessible mangroves and low lying forests, there are many places to spot rare birds. Two excellent locations are Khao Kanat Nam, close to Krabi Town, and Khao No Chuchi Forest Preserve.
Tiger Cave Temple Tiger Cave Temple or Wat Tham Sua in Thai is located about 3 kilometers from Krabi town. The inside of this cave features tiger prints captured in stone and is in the middle of an abundant forest with gigantic ancient trees. This place is remarkable archaeologically as many artifacts have been found on the premises including tools, pottery and the mold for the Buddha’s footprint.
Partying Phi Phi is known worldwide as “Party Island central” and Koh Lanta is not far behind. Krabi Town is more sedate, but there are plenty of good bars and a live music scene to enjoy.
