! d o G y e k n o Your Inner M Prim Victorian ladies were outraged when Cha Charles arles Darwin suggested in his Theory of Evolution that we were all evolved from our ape-like brethren and that indeed eed some s of us had not evolved very far. But a trip to experience ce th the he exciting aerial adventures over at Flying Hanuman in Katu quickly underscores just how right Darwin was and how much we all love monkeying around! ound! The “Hanuman” name in the branding is the rather naughty Monkey God from the epic Hindu story the Ramayana which is enacted in mythical song and dance as the Ramakien in Thailand. The Hanuman character who liked to Áy though the mythical forests has been cleverly incorporated into the branding of Phuket’s Number One air-borne rainforest adventure park called “Flying Hanuman” which receives a 5 g on TripAdvisor. p Star rating
What exactly is a visit to the Flying Fly ying Hanuman adventure fo forest orest like? Well, ÀÀrstly rstly you drive into a spacious car park p situated on a deeply forested forest ted hillside above Soi 6 off o off the famous Soi Namtok Katu….the Katu… ….the “Katu Waterfall road” in Katu. Kattu. As soon as you’ve parked, you will ill b be greeted t db by your guide id who explains to you the various thrilling aerial rides. You will also be shown a safety video and taken through all the various zip lines and modes of attachment and safety mechanisms that allow you to safely impersonate an air-borne Simian ffrom an earlier li stage t off our h human evolution. l ti SSafety f t iis a very important part of this adventure and the training and safety procedures are extremely thorough. In fact Flying Hanuman is so safe that children as young as four, or even ancient thrill-seekers of 80 can enjoy this amazing adventure.

Flying Hanuman is most certainly an eco-friendly adventure in which the participants experience the upper layers of the rain forest and mature old growth trees in an intimate Àrst hand manner, while making absolutely no impact on the environment itself. The zip lines send you zigzagging through the natural maze created by the forest’s heights at speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour. In many ways this is a re-creation of what it must have been like for our Simian ancestors as they swung about in the arboreal foliage many thousands of years ago. The experience is the most extreme of its kind in Phuket and therefore every group is constantly accompanied by two guides who ensure that every participant gets the most exciting thrills from all the rides. They also point out many fascinating ecological and natural wonders for you to savor. You can make the experience as “extreme” or relaxing as you personally wish….. all you have to do is tell your guides how you want to play it. The site itself is huge covering 80,000 square meters of forested land and to thoroughly enjoy Phuket’s best Zip Line Eco Adventure takes about two and a half hours. Pre-booking is advised so that you are locked into a speciÀc time slot for your adventure and can arrive accordingly. Make no mistake…Flying Hanuman is all about a great adrenalin-charged adventure and will certainly be a highlight of your trip to Phuket!

Getting to know
Chris
“Macca Attack”
McCormack Executive Chairman at Thanyapura On December 1st Thanyapura Phuket appointed four time world triathlon champion, Chris McCormack, as Executive Chairman as it takes its next big stride in taking its ground-breaking Thanyapura Active Healthy Lifestyle concept to the world. We caught up with Chris after his usual 150 kilometer Sunday morning bike ride for a brunch at DiVine restaurant at the heart of Thanyapura complex. How did you come to take the position of Executive Chairman at Thanyapura? I was staying and training at Phuket’s Laguna complex as I have done many times before and a friend brought me over to Thanyapura. I was blown away by the facilities, staff, professionalism and expertise I discovered here and yet I asked myself why I had never heard about it before. I then met the Founder Klaus Hebben and we formed a great relationship and he convinced me to join the Group in order to really establish Thanyapura as Asia’s foremost center for sports, education, mind and health. I already saw Phuket as an emerging power base for endurance sports, and so I felt the opportunities for Thanyapura’s growth were huge. I was also deeply impressed with Thanyapura’s brand promise: ‘Get more out of life’. It’s not just about high performance and winning races by elite athletes, but is a philosophy applicable to everyone, an ideal with which I have close personal afÀnity. Who else will join your team at Thanyapura to help achieve your goals? Realizing that I couldn’t do everything on my own, Klaus and I agreed that my good friend and fellow athlete Michael Gilliam would also come on board as the new Chief Executive OfÀcer. As coach to many of Australia’s elite athletes, M.G founded the LifeVision personal training brand of gymnasiums and Sportoga Yoga Studios, both of which he recently sold so he could concentrate on his new challenge with me at Thanyapura. As of January 2014 we are also bringing famous Phuket-based personality Debbie Dionysius on board to handle Marketing, Communications and Events. Debbie of course helmed www.theguidephuket.com
these functions at Laguna for many years and is incredibly well-known and respected throughout the region. She is a fabulous addition to our team. Thanyapura’s President, Robert Hauck, will now step up into a global role as Chief Executive OfÀcer of Thanyapura International to spearhead the drive to export Thanyapura’s recipe for success and philosophy of ‘getting more out of life’ to the world. What are your immediate objectives for Thanyapura? Our team will be charged with further advancing Thanyapura Phuket’s Active Healthy Lifestyle concept across all areas of sports, mind, health and education, including developing the junior athlete program at the Phuket International Academy Day School. Lead by Robert Hauck, Thanyapura International will meanwhile engage with potential overseas suitors to introduce the brand and concept to the wider global market. What is your management style? As both a world class professional athlete and a trained accountant, my aim is to bring the same winning mentality that I have achieved in the sports world into the day-to-day management and development of Thanyapura. I believe that athletic credentials combined with a well-rounded healthy active lifestyle, attention to detail, mindful discipline and my accountancy background will help me to boost Thanyapura to incredible new heights on the global stage. Two Chefs open their new restaurant in Kamala
The Two Chefs bar/restaurants in southern Phuket are famous for unrivalled food, great value and all round good fun. Now they have introduced this successful magic formula back into Kamala with their newly-opened restaurant there. In 2001 Two Chefs opened their very Àrst Phuket eatery in Kamala, but then moved location after just one successful season there over to Kata Beach where they established their extremely popular restaurant which thrives there today. Outlets in Karon and Kata Hill followed and now from last December they have gone back to where it all started for them 13 years ago, by opening their latest new restaurant in Kamala. Two new Chefs Kamala outlet is located in the Icon Park Condominium complex on the hill going down towards Kamala, as you are driving north from Patong.
For Two Chefs, the opening of this new restaurant represents a great return to the location of their Àrst success and they are delighted to be back in Kamala again, as will be their abundant followers. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming and modern interior, with both indoor air-conditioned and outdoor dining areas. The menu offers the same extensive range of cuisines which have made Two Chefs well known and loved all over Phuket, with a large variety of steaks, imported meats, Àsh, seafood, pastas and salads as well as Tex-Mex, featuring such treats as tacos, nachos and chicken fajitas. The Cornerstone of
Phuket’s Sunday Brunch Live music, played alongside a large buffet, overlooking a clear blue swimming pool on a Sunday afternoon characterizes the Sunday Brunch as a true Hilton experience. Their goal is to satisfy Phuket’s tourists, expats and the resort guests. Hilton’s variety of international dishes captures all three regardless of where one is from. The afternoon starts with a ‘make-your-own’ salad station where options such as Caesar or Greek Salads are available. For the seafood lovers, two stations are dedicated to the freshest “Treasure from the Sea”. Other stations offer Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Western and Thai cuisine that includes salads, dumplings, sushi, curry and many other ingredients tailored to every palate. There are stations dedicated to distinct soups, breads and cheeses. The live cooking station adds to your Sunday afternoon with freshly-roasted BBQ offerings. The culmination of the Sunday Brunch ends with an extensive selection of desserts like tarts, cakes, cookies and mousses. Cakes ranging from raspberry, chocolate, fudge, peanut crunch and black forest gateau are among the offerings. Executive Chef Joseph Nagy leads a culinary team that not only originates from all corners, but has also honed their skills from all parts of the globe. Their global experience takes you on a memorable gastronomic journey. They have their own Indian chef who deploys the exciting

world of spices and curries such as chicken tikka masala, combined with creamy dal, and crispy papadams for all to enjoy. This wealth of talent within the culinary team also extends to the art of producing popular Thai dishes like the tangy Thai papaya salad. Since the island turned from a Àshing village to a world-class tourist destination, Hilton’s Sunday brunch has remained a cornerstone of exciting family dining for Phuket’s community. Through experience and tradition over the years, the resort reinvents its dining experience through the new culinary team, building on an already popular Sunday Brunch. For 1,400++ baht, diners are treated to an exciting dining journey combined with a bottle of great wine. For 700++ baht, children dine on tailored kids’ dishes and are entertained with fun activities such as a balloon artist. But here in Phuket there are can be other distractions. History is unclear on whether The Beatles journeyed to Thailand before they wrote their 1964 hit with it’s the lyrics which now seem unbelievably naïve and quaint...“Money Can’t Buy Me Love.” Clearly Paul McCartney had never had the pleasure of walking down Patong’s Soi Bangla around midnight. Had he ever done so, he would have certainly witnessed plenty of Àlthy lucre being exchanged for love…or something that for all intents and purposes looks suspiciously like it, at all sorts of local bars, pubs, clubs and discos. In fairness John Lennon did eventually come to his senses a few years later when appearing on a late night Talk Show he quipped, “Anyone who says that money can’t buy me love….isn’t shopping in the right places.” Possibly there’s some confusion between “love” and its close semantic bedfellow, “lust” going on in Phuket. But after a few of the full strength local beers….it’s a case of: “Will you stop nit picking? Look she just Ànds me irresistibly attractive, OK?”
EVENT & PROMOTION
Phuket offers up visitors and residents alike abundant opportunities for Valentine’s Day romance, whether on a short term basis, or featuring the more stable traditional
manifestation of the phenomenon. Acolytes of the short term variety tend to Áock to Soi Bangla and its Áeshpots, while the more romantic traditionalists avail themselves of beachside dinners, bathed in lashings of Àne wines, bubbly and moon glow, in which to plight their troth. Local resorts and restaurants know that there are few better occasions for males to lose their Ànancial sanity than in pursuit of L’Amour and so Saint Valentine’s Day is big business in Phuket…..no matter how long the commitment lasts! But a word of caution is due here! Many a male has been so caught up in the romance of Phuket’s tropical island splendor, as to actually pop the question on February 14th. So, beware, in Phuket romance is certainly in the air …..as well as the bars and the bubbly! In all this Dorothy Parker’s wise observation is perhaps a pertinent last thought. Acerbic as ever, she remarked that the difference between sex for love and sex for money… is that sex for love costs you a hell of a lot more!
Happy Valentine’s.

Baan Rim Pa a True Phuket Icon
Baan Rim Pa Restaurant literally translates as “the house on a cliff” and commands a sensational location on a rocky headland overlooking Kalim Bay to the north and the bright lights of Patong to its immediate south. It was one of the first and most fashionable restaurants to be established in Phuket launching as early as 1990. Baan Rim Pa was the inspired brainchild of the famed New York restaurateur the late Tom McNamara, who acquired the beautiful wooden Thai house in this dramatic locale initially as his own residence. Tom’s passion for Àne cuisine soon saw many friends and visitors regularly arriving at his welcoming doors to sample the cooking and hospitality, and so he decided to open a restaurant at the location. He hired as his chef Jaree Noisamlee from the world-famous Oriental Hotel in Bangkok and she remains the doyen of Baan Rim Pa’s kitchen to this day. Tom’s renowned hospitality and Chef Jaree’s superb Royal Thai Cuisine developed Baan Rim Pa into a “must see” locale for visiting and resident food-lovers alike. It became the first of b three restaurants that th To Tom would eventually p pioneer on this fabulo lous promontory as his f fame grew.
www.theguidephuket.com
The Baan Rim Pa Group in its entirety now comprises Baan Rim Pa, Joe’s Downstairs, serving modern Western and Mediterranean fare and Da Maurizio, a contemporary and classical Italian restaurant. The three beautiful eateries are built one above the other cascading down the eponymous cliff and looking westward over the shimmering Andaman Sea, just north of Patong’s bustling nightlife. Sunsets here are legendary and many famous visitors, from Jean-Claude Van Damme to Celine Dion, have graced the terraces at Baan Rim Pa to drink in the both the fabulous cocktails and the evening’s beauty. In March 2014 the Baan Rim Pa iconic eatery celebrates twenty four years of welcoming the rich and famous through its glorious portals to partake of their sensational cuisine, cocktails and wines and to listen to the live jazz of pianist Tommy Doyle and his musical associates. Tommy has recently slipped into semi-retirement, but the musical traditions and associations he brought to Ban Rim Pa live on.

Indeed Baan Rim Pa Restaurant has on occasion scored top points and been selected as the single best restaurant in the country by the Thailand Tatler. Baan Rim Pa has certainly become a Phuket and indeed a Thai institution, and no visit to the Andaman region can be said to be really complete without at least one evening at “the house on the cliff”. A Natural Boost for
Valentine 5RPDQFH February brings thought of love and romance, but even in the idyllic, tropical surroundings of Phuket some couples may need a little help to rekindle their desires, especially after a long plane journey or a night on the town. Fortunately, Thailand’s abundance of fruit and herbs means all you have to do to give your love life a boost is eat delicious food and enjoy a naughty drink or two. Aphrodisiacs were originally developed as a herbal remedy for sexual anxieties. Pharmaceutical products have obviously Àlled that gap in the market today, but some of the traditional “recipes for love” are much tastier, so it’s worth indulging in them anyway, even for fun. Quite a few cocktails contain elements that add a little spice to your love life. Ripe, juicy pineapple adds sweetness and sexy vitamins, drop in a shot of vodka and you will soon be feeling both naughty and nice. Beyond providing a sexual
www.theguidephuket.com
stimulant, Pineapple is also rich in nutrients, including vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, beta-carotenes and potassium, a necessity for sex hormone production. Pineapple is considered a homeopathic treatment for impotence and a fermented drink made from honey was used medicinally in Egypt as a cure for sterility, and was once thought to “sweeten” a marriage. Some of the best-known aphrodisiacs are Àgs, wine and chocolate – referred to by the ancient Aztecs as “the nourishment of the Gods”. So for the ultimate sensual tipple, wash down a bit of dark chocolate with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and wait for the passion to take over. Lesser known aphrodisiacs include basil, a common ingredient in Thai food that is also known to stimulate the sex drive and boost fertility. Then there are carrots, which were

once used by Middle Eastern royalty to aid seduction and surprisingly, garlic, which generates heat in the body that will stir your sexual desires, as long as you both have some to cancel out the fumes. A high concentration of potassium, coupled with its obviously phallic shape, also make the banana a popular aphrodisiac. Then there’s coffee, a natural stimulant for both the body and the mind, which can provide just the right energy boost needed for a night of enduring passion. Of course, the best way to prepare for true romance is to relax and forget the stresses of your normal daily life. Phuket’s tantalising spa treatments offer the perfect antidote to the pressures of life and the gentle touch of a skilled masseuse is sure to inspire a little passion when you get back to the hotel room. Relax by the pool, book yourself an aromatherapy oil massage, sip a cocktail and enjoy a delicious Thai meal. Then head to the bedroom and relish the moment.

Phuket
a top golfing & beach destination 6 varied courses
make Phuket a great golf destination. Is Phuket really famous as a golÀng destination? Around Asia it certainly is, with golfers regularly Áying in from Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and sometimes even Australia to take advantage of the great mix of six very different courses. They also appreciate Phuket’s competitive prices on 18 holes (especially compared to Japan, but perhaps not against Australian prices). Then, naturally, the excellent beach resorts and hotels plus lots of after-hours entertainment further enhance Phuket’s reputation as a golfer’s favorite. After all, no-one spends all day and night on the greens. Many golfers love to bring their families, for in Phuket there are beaches for the kids, shopping and spas for wives, while husbands enjoy the links. Phuket’s six courses are spread all around Phuket Island, making access to one or more easy no matter on which beach one stays. The six courses currently in operation are: Blue Canyon: the most famous on Phuket This course was twice the host of the Johnny Walker Classic, the Àrst of which Tiger Woods won in his last days as an amateur. Blue Canyon has two beautiful 18-hole courses among hills and old tin-mining lakes on the North end of the island right by Phuket Airport.
www.theguidephuket.com
These courses are the hilliest in Phuket and the Àrst 18 is often considered the most competitive course on the island. It has also helped attract other prestigious golÀng events to the island, and brings a regular stream of Asian golfers in from East Asian countries. Phuket Country Club: where Thai businessmen play As one of the Àrst courses here, Phuket Country Club occupies a choice hillside loication with great vistas over the Kathu valley in the center of the island. At the bottom of the slopes are several large lagoons left over by tin mining. These pools now make attractive obstacles with swans gliding by. Set on the road linking Phuket Town and Patong, this course has a convenient location for residents of both places, and is the favourite of local residents in these two large urban areas. Visitors are also welcome. Laguna Golf Club: part of the famous resort complex Laguna Golf Club is situated directly behind the hotels such that guests can walk to the club in just a minute or two. The course has been designed to meander through both the rehabilitated tin lagoons and the new estates of private houses that Laguna has developed within their overall resort. This whole area is rather Áat, so lots of effort has been put into the landscaping. This course might not provide the real challenges of some of the hilly courses, but is still quite popular among the many local expats who reside in the suburbs and villa estates in the central part of the island behind Bang Tao Beach.
Health & Beauty
45
Loch Palms Golf Club: 36 holes in center of Phuket The heart of this double course is a pretty valley that cuts into Phuket’s main mountain range. The 36 holes here also run up hillsides and over undulations at the foot of the range, with tin-mining lagoons Àlling the lower reaches. It is another pretty course, and like most here, has housing estates built around the perimeter. The second course has been given a new name, Red Mountain, and is sometimes promoted as an entirely different golf club, so be warned. This is part of Loch Palm. Mission Hills Golf Club This relatively new course in the Northeast of the island is convenient for those staying on beaches north of Kamala, including Bang Tao, Nai Yang and Mai Khao, but is quite far for visitors staying on the famous beaches in the southwest of the island. The course is in an undeveloped portion of Phuket surrounded by rubber plantations and small Àshing communities. The course is rather Áat, but interesting where it runs along the coast, giving great views of Phang Nga Bay. There is also a resort hotel attached to the clubhouse. Phukana Golf Club This is the sixth and latest addition to Phuket’s varied array of courses, and the southern-most of them. It currently has only 9 holes plus a driving range. This course is located in a valley on the East side of the island’s main mountain range, directly over from Karon. It is accessed from Chao Fah Road West, a short distance North of Wat Chalong. Like many other courses on Phuket, Phukana has claimed land that was devastated by tin mining. By rehabilitating the lagoons left by the mining they gain attractive water hazards. Phukana is convenient for residents living in the suburban areas towards the bottom of the island like Chalong, Rawai and Nai Harn, and is not too far for visitors staying at Kata Beach, Karon Beach or Patong. A rough track crosses the mountain from this valley to Karon, one that the government has long promised to develop into a real road. Story & Photos by John Everingham

Andaman
GETTING TO KNOW the Southern Andaman Region of Krabi, Phi Phi and Koh Lanta
as it could actually be classiÀed as a mud Áat, especially during low tide. The main attraction for visitors to Railey Beach is the adrenaline pumping activity of cliff climbing. The limestone cliffs on the huge headland between East of Railey Beach and Phra Nang cave, as well as other nearby islands provide world-class rock climbing facilities against a stunning backdrop of the sea with approximately 700 routes of mid to high difÀcult rating. Pra Nang Beach Connected to Railay by a small path, Phra Nang is on the outermost headland, backed by limestone cliffs soaring above the beach. At the bottom of the cliff lies the Princess Cave or Tham Phra Nang Nok where local Àshermen leave offerings for good fortune. Three hours drive south from Phuket through stunning limestone cliffs and dense forest brings you to the southern playground of the Krabi region of the Andaman overlooking Phang Nga Bay with its many scattered islands, hidden bays and beaches. Throw away your watch and bask in nature’s beauty or snorkel, dive, rock climb, Àsh, kayak, hike, sail, party, spa or wine and dine to your heart’s content – this region has it all. Ao Nang Beach Just 18 km from Krabi Town is beautiful Ao Nang with its 83 scattered islands. Each island is only a short distance from the next and so during low tide you can wade to a neighboring island, many with sandy beaches and crystal clear water and majestic limestone cliffs rising straight from the clear waters of the sea. Ao Nang has several famous beaches including East Rai Le, West Rai Le and Phra Nang cave which stretches to the foot of a prominent limestone range. Noppharat Thara Beach Just 20 km west of Krabi and three miles long, this beach is lined with majestic Casuarina trees and is in fact part of Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Koh Phi Phi National Marine Park and is the location of the Park headquarters. As with Ao Nang, it’s possible to reach other islands in the bay on foot during low tides. Railay Beach This beach is generally divided into two sections, east and west. West Railey provides visitors with peace and quiet as it is a broad sandy beach with fewer facilities than Ao Nang. East Railey which lies across the peninsula from West Railey is different from other beaches in the area

Klong Muang Beach/Tubkaak Krabi’s latest beach destination, Muang Klong boasts both 5-star and boutique hotels like the Sheraton Krabi Resort, the Nakamanda and the Tubkaak Resort and offers powderwhite sand and safe swimming. The Lanta Island Group About 53 islands are included in this group situated at the southern limit of Krabi Province. Koh Lanta Yai is the largest and is both a traveler’s and up-market vacationer’s paradise and is as yet relatively undeveloped. You can get to Lanta on the regular ferry from Jao Fah Pier in Krabi Town. The prime attractions are its long beaches, clear water, laid back atmosphere and scuda diver’s paradise where most of the nicest beaches and tourist attractions are located. The Phi Phi Islands Known for phenomenal natural beauty, particularly the famous twin bays with their the curving beaches upon which lies the largest town. Phi Phi islands are some of the most beautiful in the world with superb scenery, silvery sand beaches and Emerald green seas with coral reefs and an abundance of marine life. Hardly two hours journey by boat from Ao Nang, the twin islands Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh provide excellent accommodation options and are known as major “party islands.” Poda Islands Situated south of Ao Nang, 8 Kilometers offshore, Koh Poda or Poda Group Islands are fringed by clear waters and offer white sandy beaches, as well as, pristine coral reefs. These islands are not affected so much by the monsoon therefore are year-round attractions and an excellent place for Àshing. Poda island with white sand beaches and clear turquoise seawater abounded with schools of colorful Àsh.

HIGHLIGHT ATTRACTIONS.. Emerald Pool Emerald Pool or Sra Morakot in Thai is located at Klong Thom District. This hot spring originates from a warm stream in the lowland forest. The intensity of the pool’s turquoise colored water varies according to the light and time of the day so a good time to visit is at dawn or early morning.
Bird Watching A trip to Krabi can be a very rewarding visit for any bird lovers. With easily accessible mangroves and low lying forests, there are many places to spot rare birds. Two excellent locations are Khao Kanat Nam, close to Krabi Town, and Khao No Chuchi Forest Preserve.
Tiger Cave Temple Tiger Cave Temple or Wat Tham Sua in Thai is located about 3 kilometers from Krabi town. The inside of this cave features tiger prints captured in stone and is in the middle of an abundant forest with gigantic ancient trees. This place is remarkable archaeologically as many artifacts have been found on the premises including tools, pottery and the mold for the Buddha’s footprint.
Partying Phi Phi is known worldwide as “Party Island central” and Koh Lanta is not far behind. Krabi Town is more sedate, but there are plenty of good bars and a live music scene to enjoy.
HIGHLIGHTS & ACTIVITIES... Rock Climbing Apart from marine sports, Krabi is also an ideal place for rock climbing. Lines of sheer limestone cliffs along Tham Phranang and Rai Le Beaches have challenged thousands of climbers from all over the world every year. The levels of difÀculty of the various routes vary, so Whether you’re a professional or just an aspiring adrenalin junkie, the craggy karsts of Krabi offer a huge array of bolted mounts. Diving Both scuba and snorkeling are widely available in warm, coral and Àsh infested waters with full PADI accreditation courses and live-aboard adventures. Sightseeing by Canoe or Kayak Many companies offer sea canoeing and kayaking adventures around Phang Nga Bay and into the many coves, caves and islets dotting the otherworldly shores around Krabi, Phi Phi and Koh Lanta. Fishing Abundant sea and even freshwater Àshing is available all over this region, from squid boating, to line Àshing in Phang Nga Bay, to big game adventures off the Continental Shelf drop-off. Don’t let that big one get away!
Shopping Outlet Village Krabi is located on Phetchakasem Road. It is on the way from the city to the local airport and features a tall lighthouse near the entrance and 6,000 sqm of retail space. Throughout the year, many Thai and foreign travelers visit this outlet which offers over 100 selected leading brands for all ages. Clothing discounted up to 70% is available here. It is open daily from 11:00 a.m. - 9.00 p.m. Enjoying the Local Seafood Have a seafood feast and savor the fresh day’s catch in any number of a fun, laidback, or Àne-dining restaurants all over this region.
GETTING THERE By road from Phuket Take a minibus or frequent local bus from Phuket Town’s bus terminal with information regarding timetables, taxi or mini-van shuttle services readily available at hotels, travel agent or Phuket Airport. Renting a car is also a good option and the roads are wide, modern and relatively quiet. To Krabi and Phi Phi by boat It is possible to charter a speedboat or similar transportation to Krabi or Koh Phi Phi, or there are frequent daily ferries operating between Phuket and Phi Phi Island and then on to Krabi, or via the Koh Yao Islands, each taking about two hours.
