Project Site
Concept
The project site location is with a incresing of urban growth due to recent investments on large scale developments, such as residential complexes and shopping malls.
For the viability of this project, many studies were made and then, it was decided the exact site for the cultural center. On a high density green area on the northeast corner that was part of psychiatric hospital that ended up in disuse.
But, the region, as well as the city in general, has a lack of cultural and leisure open places. So, I’ve decided to develop a revitalization on the biggest lagoon of the city with the design project of a cultural center as part of a concept urban project for the waterfront areas and surroundings.
Since its a part of a ambiental restoration area, the legislation has many constraints, which, with the arborized condition of the site, resulted on the idea of a open cultural center with a extended use as a park. Roadway System Study

Parti The initial ideal was to build a single building regarding all the functions and uses and be acessed though the surrounding park. But when doing the positioning of existing trees, I decided to split the functions in different buildings in a way to involve the surroundings on the cultural center on the use and to preserve the most possible of the local vegetation, using the clearing spots. When divided, It was needed to have some types of connections between them, like their style of building, that, disregarding their different functions they would need to belong together, and it was also needed to create a cover for the passageways between the buildings, without the use of underground level. Through this techinique, it was also created coexistance spaces outdoors, with access to a cafe and gathering points.

Site The building were divided in four main buildings with different functions and a central small cafe one, which serves two open spaces created by the bigger building, were people can spend some leisure time and interact with other people and with the park.

On the course, we had to detail just WSQI WTIGMƤG TEVXW SJ XLI FYMPHMRK WS we only had to make a very schematic and simple presentation. The events center is located on the avenue with highest access, while in the hotel, the exit of the guests is located on the way to the beach. One of the challenges the professor gave the students was how to solve the access of the parking lot for guests and people going to the events center separately, which was solved with the use of specially located vertical circulations on an underground parking.

There are some equipments projected in this area, like the amphitheater and then gathering points for talk and social activities in general. ANFITEATRO
There is a cooper track as well as bike track that cross through the building. The format of the building and the patium created by the embrace of the project creates a open space that can be used for concerts and other kinds of public events.

Approval Through the project, it was desired to provoke a change on the place that nowadays offers resistance to changes of the local residents. When concluded, this project was presented to local residents, including some of the removed ones, and it was found that there was almost an unanimity regarding the construction of this idea. Where even the removed ones, if relocated to a place not too far away, were really excited about the possibility of improving their life quality and the local quality in general.

Living in community This project, located on Lagamar community, at Fortaleza, was proposed as a way of relocating the removed families from the endangered zones. This building brings leisure activities not only for the people who live on the complex but also neighboring people. The whole ground level is open and permissive, allowing outsiders to use the space. There are elevated plazas on the building for use of the people who live on the building.
