Rotarians live by a simple philosophy: Service Above Self. We are a group of people having fun serving our community and the world. Rotary is the largest and oldest service organization on the planet, with 1.2 million members in 46,000+ clubs in 220 countries worldwide. Rotary has no political or religious affiliations. The basic principles and causes of Rotary International are listed on page 42 of this community guide. (If not – The basic principles of Rotary International are the 4-Way Test [Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?])
We are your neighbors and your friends, serving the community across the Honeoye Falls / Mendon area. We built the pavilion in Rotary Park. We refurbished the Mendon Community Playground. We support families in need through the Honeoye Falls food cupboard, Friends in Service Here (FISH) through donation drives each year. We deliver Christmas trees to families in need and sponsor a free Breakfast with Santa.
Each September, HFM and Pittsford Rotary Clubs connect for their Teddy Bear Picnic, where they collect hundreds of new stuffed animals for emergency personnel to give out to kids in distress, such as those affected by house fires, domestic disputes, and parental separations. This is but a sample of the projects we do locally; we help propel many community service projects, large and small, and our work is ongoing.
We support several youth organizations, including BSA Troops 10 and 410 and Cub Scouts Pack 10. We manage HF-L High School’s Interact Club, under the guidance
of Jeanine Lupisella and Laurie Hoffman; students develop leadership skills and learn the value of serving others, helping at the Breakfast with Santa, Easter and other celebrations at Pinehurst Senior Center, as well as village holiday decorations, local park cleanups, and a variety of other drives and initiatives throughout the year. Each June, we present a scholarship to an exemplary Interact member.
Your HF-M Rotary Club is here to help any community member who needs assistance. While some may see this district as rather affluent, there is also significant need, especially post-COVID, and we are here to help. No one needs to go without necessities like food, clothing, and shelter. If you or someone you know needs help, reach out to us, and we will either help you or find resources to help you.
In March, we host our annual Casino Night at Westminster Hall, and this year’s proceeds will benefit the scout house’s desperately needed roof replacement.
Join us in making our community and world a better place. We know everyone is busy; any amount of time contribution is welcomed in our club. Even incremental efforts make a significant difference when part of a team! ACES ENERGY:
POWERING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
When it comes to residential energy efficiency, Honeoye Falls-based ACES Energy has pioneered sustainable heating and cooling solutions since 2009. Founded and led by industry expert, Andrew Heiligman, ACES Energy has built a stellar reputation for its innovative approaches combined with its unwavering commitment to community impact and environmental sustainability. Heiligman, with a background in mechanical engineering and an MBA, envisioned creating a local resource for renewable energy solutions, making geothermal heating and cooling and solar PV systems accessible to both residential homeowners and businesses.
Geothermal technology unlocks the potential for a sustainable and efficient heating and cooling solution. Unlike traditional methods relying on fossil fuels, geothermal heat pumps use the earth’s constant temperatures underground to exchange heat. These systems require no fossil fuels to operate (goodbye propane tank!) and are shielded from extreme outdoor weather conditions, outperforming their counterparts and ensuring optimal performance no matter the weather. Geothermal systems provide a reliable alternative to combat rising fossil fuel costs and are seen as the gold standard in renewable heating and cooling.
A Team of Experts and Innovators
What makes ACES Energy truly special is its team. A blend of seasoned industry veterans and ambitious young professionals eager to make a difference, the ACES Energy team brings a dynamic combination of experience and fresh ideas. This diversity allows the company to approach challenges with creative and educated solutions, ensuring clients receive the most effective and sustainable outcomes.
ACES Energy is a founding member of NY-Geo, an organization that supports and guides New York State’s geothermal energy policies and strategies. ACES Energy’s goal is to provide sustainable solutions to all, bringing educated and creative solutions to each challenge.
Standing Out in the Market
ACES Energy has carved a niche for itself by prioritizing sustainability and measurable impacts. Their track record speaks volumes. In 2024, they were recognized as the largest residential WaterFurnace dealer in the US operating from a single location, which is a testament to their dedication and expertise, reducing building-related emissions and supporting the state’s electrification goals.
ACES is a strong supporter of New York State’s Clean Heat Program that incentivizes the conversion of fossil fuel systems to superefficient geothermal heat pumps. This program reduces the financial barrier of upgrading a home’s HVAC system and provides resources to New Yorkers looking to save energy. ACES has received many accolades from the Clean Heat Program, including being recognized as a top performing contractor for achieving most geothermal energy savings in 2023 and 2024.
ACES Energy is committed to excellence in delivering impactful results for individual homeowners as well as the broader community.
Passion and Purpose Drive Success
For the team at ACES Energy, work is more than just a job—it’s a calling. The company thrives on solving complex problems, educating the public about renewable energy, and taking on unique projects that require innovative thinking. “Monotony is not our thing,” they say, emphasizing how every day brings new opportunities to learn, create, and make a difference.
The collaborative nature of their projects is a key motivator. From start to finish, their team works together to create energy-saving solutions
for local homeowners and business owners. Their ability to track a project’s actual energy savings over time keeps the team energized and committed to expanding their impact.
Landmark Achievements in 2024
The past year has been marked by significant expansion in the community, installing geothermal systems at over 90 local residences, helping homeowners reduce energy costs and carbon footprints. ACES Energy also supported one of the region’s largest geothermal installations at the historic Hickey Freeman Factory in Rochester, including drilling 92 geothermal wells to 500 feet deep in collaboration with their partners Nothnagle Well Drilling to transform this Rochester landmark into a model of sustainable energy. This year, ACES also converted the historic Weider Hall building at Genesee Co-op Federal Credit Union from natural gas to a geothermal system, demonstrating the feasibility and benefits of renewable energy in commercial settings. The sky’s the limit, and ACES Energy is at the forefront of geothermal solutions.
Goals for the Future
ACES Energy’s vision is clear: to continue driving the adoption of renewable energy technologies that make buildings more efficient, less dependent on fossil fuels, and sustainable in the long term. By working closely with homeowners and businesses, they aim to:
• Lower heating and cooling costs for clients while advancing community sustainability goals
• Educate the public on the benefits of geothermal and other renewable energy systems, making these technologies accessible and appealing to a broader audience
• Continue to take on innovative and impactful installations
Giving Back to the Community
ACES Energy is deeply rooted in the community, sponsoring local youth sports teams and offering educational sessions on geothermal and solar photovoltaic (PV) energies to local schools. Their commitment extends beyond providing services; it involves actively engaging with and supporting the next generation of environmentally conscious thinkers. Whether it’s through educational events, supporting local initiatives, or supporting incentives to make
renewable energy systems more affordable, ACES Energy remains committed to creating positive change at every level.
Why Choose ACES Energy?
If you think renewable energy might be out of reach, ACES Energy says think again. Geothermal heat pumps, for example, come with substantial incentives and tax credits that significantly reduce upfront costs. These systems are not only cost-competitive with traditional heating options but also offer long-term energy savings that keep homeowners happy for years to come.
When it’s time to replace your furnace or build a new home, consider getting a quote from ACES Energy. Their expertise, dedication, and proven track record make them the go-to choice for sustainable energy solutions. As their multitude of satisfied customers attest, choosing ACES Energy means investing in a brighter, greener future. Contact them today.

Rick Milne Mayor – Honeoye Falls
The quaint village of Honeoye Falls and its surrounding town of Mendon, NY are home to beautiful parks and sites of interest. Mendon Ponds Park is the largest park in Monroe County, with over 2,500 acres of land to explore. Named a National Natural Landmark in 1967, this is the perfect park to hike, cross-country ski, explore a natural timber playground (northern end of the Quaker Pond Trail loop off Pond Rd.), and more! Feed the chickadees on Birdsong Trail by Wild Wings, and check out Sharon’s Sensory Garden, a unique sensory garden for individuals with physical and visual disabilities.

Mendon Ponds Park
In the village of Honeoye Falls lies the Vest Pocket Park, home of the famous Honeoye Falls Totem Pole, and often hosts photo shoots along Honeoye Creek. Follow the creek south to Harry Allen Park to visit the one-room schoolhouse and the Honeoye Falls Mendon Historical Museum, let the kids play on the playground, and hike the creekside Zebulon Norton Trail. Weddings, festivals, and a wide array of community events grace the gazebo and the ‘green’ at this quaint park throughout the year. Follow the Zebulon Norton Trail across Main St. to Rotary Park, with its pavilion, soccer fields, and an awesome playground with a massive climbing “rock” in addition to the typical fare the entire family will enjoy!
North of the village runs the level-terrain Lehigh Valley Trail, perfect for a long walk or bike ride with family and pets. Enjoy scenic views of Honeoye Creek while spotting wildlife you won’t see in the more populated areas of Rochester.
Honeoye Falls is home to favorite annual traditions such as the Memorial Day Parade through HF, paying tribute to the fallen as we celebrate the organizations that make Honeoye Falls what it is today. The allvolunteer Mendon Fire Department hosts the “best three days in Mendon,” the Mendon Carnival in June that brings revelers from near and far. Saturday of carnival weekend brings the ever-popular Fireman’s Parade, with representatives from fire departments and marching bands far and wide. Don’t forget October’s Homecoming Parade, bringing the community back together after summer activities. And, of course, locals won’t want to miss the Honeoye Falls Fire Department’s Turkey Raffle the week before Thanksgiving or the spectacular Santa Parade in December.
Honeoye Falls, Lima, and Mendon are full of neighbors helping neighbors. The Honeoye Falls Rotary and the Interact Club at HFL High School often coordinate community-wide programs at Pinehurst Senior Living Community, such as the ever-popular Easter Egg Hunt the Saturday before Easter and a Halloween Parade in the fall.
Summertime brings music and movies to the gazebo at Harry Allen Park, with the community Good Vibes Flowing weekly concert series and Music & Movies in the Park. The Honeoye Falls Community Band, ranging in age from middle school students to retirees, treats the community with concerts throughout the year. Be sure to check out the public Brass Choir concert of holiday favorites in the gazebo each December.
The Mendon Library on Main Street, Honeoye Falls hosts a wide array of programs for the whole family, and service organizations of all ages actively engage the community throughout the year. A variety of bed and breakfasts across the community help visitors extend their stay without leaving this fine community.

LIBRARIES/ MUSEUMS
Mendon Library
22 North Main Street, Honeoye Falls
The Honeoye Falls Free Library was founded in 1912 by the Fortnightly Club of Honeoye Falls, starting with 500 books in two upstairs rooms in a Main Street building. In 1928, a $10,000 bequest from Jonathon Noxon funded a new library, completed in 1936 at 15 Monroe Street. The Town of Mendon established the Mendon Public Library in 1968, absorbing the Honeoye Falls Library. A 1975 addition expanded the Monroe Street building, and over one hundred community volunteers moved the entire book collection to the new space. In 2011, the library relocated to the modern, ADAcompliant facility at 22 North Main Street, providing the community with a safe, accessible space for learning and gathering.
The Mendon Library boasts incredible programming for adults and children of all ages. With school break fun, regular preschool programming, local history programs, and visits by famous and up-and-coming authors, club activities, community outreach programs, and holiday / seasonal crafting, bibliophiles find a great home. The library has meeting spaces, study rooms, hotspots, and myriad other technology available for patron use. MPL loans VIP passes for a variety of the area’s arts and cultural treasures as well as Empire passes for free admission to NY State Parks. Sip & Dine
Salvatore’s Old-Fashioned Pizzeria
When one thinks of pizza in Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, and Wayne Counties, Salvatore’s Pizzeria usually comes to mind. Salvatore’s started as a high school project in 1978 by Salvatore “Soccer Sam” Fantauzzo. Today, Salvatore’s has over thirty locations in the Western New York / Rochester area and will soon expand into Florida and the Carolinas.
Although all thirty locations are connected by a similar “look,” menu, and philosophy, individual shops feature a strong local feel and presence. Each Salvatore’s location is owned and operated by a local family. The Honeoye Falls location is operated by Mike Perrotta, who also owns the Fairport and Victor locations. Mike has been with the Salvatore’s Pizzeria family for twenty-two years, starting as a delivery driver, and now self-employed
owning three locations. The Salvatore’s Pizza Family loves turning jobs into careers!
The HF-L location has been serving the village since 2009, managed by Zach Wilson. Wilson notes that two of the best things about working at Salvatore’s are leading the work crew and providing customers with such a highly appreciated product in a friendly, hometown manner. Local business is extensive, he says. For example, Salvatore’s in Honeoye Falls prepares one-hundred pizzas for the HF-L School District as part of the school lunch program each week.
The pizzeria is open seven days a week. Wilson says that Friday is the busiest day of the workweek, probably because fewer working people and families like to cook on Friday nights. Also, while one might guess Super Bowl Sunday is the biggest day of the year for selling pizzas, Wilson says that title belongs to Halloween, when pizza sales soar!
While the shop prepares and sells the typical variety of pizzas such as plain cheese, pepperoni, meat-lover’s, vegan, veggies, etc., among the more unusual types of pizza customers enjoy are the shop’s “Bozza Ravioli Pie” pizzas. Besides outstanding pizzas, other top sellers are their subs and calzones.
The Honeoye Falls Salvatore’s shop is located at 31 South Main Street in Honeoye Falls, phone number 585-582-2525. The shop has a small dining-in area as well. Customers can come in and visit Salvatore’s for lunch or to see the full menu for takeout or delivery, visit salvatores.com/locations/honeoyefalls.

A beautifully renovated patio now features a new bar overlooking the falls, a cozy fire pit, and upgraded furniture for a more comfortable dining experience. Happy hour specials run from Monday through Thursday, offering another reason to stop by and unwind.

How To HelpLocal Restaurants AFTER A
NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN
The restaurant business was dealt a significant blow during the COVID-19 pandemic, when forced closures of nonessential businesses reduced many eateries to takeoutonly establishments. Even when those restrictions were relaxed, social distancing guidelines meant many establishments could not seat guests at full capacity, further cutting into restaurants’ profits.
Now that life has returned to prepandemic normalcy, the restaurants that made it through the restrictions are back, and many are as busy as ever. But there’s still a lot diners can do to help bars and restaurants after a night out on the town. The benefits of a thriving local business sector include more tax revenue, more jobs, a stronger sense of community, and, in communities with ample nightlife opportunities, a town that residents view as a fun place to live. A local business sector benefits when customers do their part, and the following are some ways residents can help their local bars and restaurants continue their recovery from the pandemic.

A recent report from Review Tracker found that 81 percent of consumers are inclined to visit Google Reviews before patronizing a business. Share details about the food and drinks, but don’t forget to mention exceptional service as well.
SPREAD THE WORD TO NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS.
Online reviews are a great way to spread the word far and wide, but word-of-mouth also can be effective. The marketing solution experts at Hibü contend that word-of-mouth marketing is the most popular way to recommend a business. Share details of a fun night out at a local bar or restaurant when speaking with friends and neighbors around town.
DO IT ALL OVER
AGAIN IN THE FUTURE
Repeat customers are the backbone of many small businesses, and bars and restaurants are no exception. A report in Harvard Business Review noted that onboarding a new customer can be as much as 25 times more expensive than retaining an existing customer. The next time a night of socializing is in order, go back to the bar or restaurant where such a fun night
was had on the first go-round. Doing so ensures another night’s worth of fun memories and helps bars and restaurants thrive.
After enduring hardships related to the pandemic, many bars and restaurants are back to offering great service in a fun atmosphere. But there’s still a lot their loyal customers can do to ensure such establishments continue to thrive in the future.

Culligan Water
A Trusted Partner in Quality Water Solutions for Over 85 Years!
For over 85 years, Culligan Water has been synonymous with excellence in residential and commercial water softener and treatment services, a legacy pioneered by Emmett Culligan. The commitment to innovation, backed by cutting-edge engineering and patented systems, ensures that Culligan Water remains a global leader in delivering top-notch product quality and unparalleled customer service.
Locally, the story of Culligan Water is woven into the fabric of the community. About 70 years ago, Charles Keppler, Sr. founded the independently owned and operated Culligan Water dealership in Akron, NY. Three of his sons joined him and they also added the water bottling plant, which is where the Lima office gets their five-gallon jugs to this day.
About 40 years ago, they expanded and acquired the Lima office at 1240 Rochester St. The Lima office is now run by Charles’ son, Peter, and grandson, Jason. Peter is semi-retired but comes into the office from time to time. Jason is Vice President and manages a bit of everything and anything needed. He is often in the field taking care of customers. His wife, Nicole, helps manage the business’ general and accounting operations. Their phenomenal team helps service customers from the office or out in the field.
The Keppler family’s dedication is evident in every aspect of their operations. The team at the Lima office is driven by a passion for providing the Finger Lakes and southern Rochester areas with expert water solutions.
As the local water experts, Culligan sets the standard in the water treatment industry with water softeners, filtration systems, bottled water delivery, and complete commercial and industrial treatment solutions. Whether you need to
solve hard water problems, have water filtration issues, or want to improve the taste of your drinking water, Culligan has a water treatment solution for you.
At Culligan, they take pride in the longevity of their products. Some of their water softeners have been serving customers faithfully for over 40 years, a testament to their durability. While they continue to excel in water softening, they have applications to handle all types of water. Their commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements has, for example, led to the introduction of state-of-theart Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Systems. These systems, coupled with proper pre-treatment, deliver bottled water quality directly from customers’ kitchen sinks, reducing single-use plastics and providing unmatched water quality.
Jason emphasizes the joy of working with a dedicated team and serving a beautiful community. ”We have a great team, and great customers, and a beautiful community! It makes for a pretty good day when you can hop in the truck with a colleague you respect, trust, and get along with and drive through our beautiful Finger Lakes region to educate customers on their water and take care of them.”
Jason says his favorite part of working at Culligan has been working alongside his grandfather as a child and his father as a young adult, learning appreciation for water and the necessity of taking care of people.
Water is a vital resource deserving of the highest quality care. In a world facing increasing contamination, Culligan stands as a beacon of excellence, helping individuals and communities learn about and maintain their water quality.
The Keppler family’s goals with the business are to keep refining the service they provide to their customers. Jason says, “We understand how important it is to have local products and services to offer the people in our community, for our customers to be able to have someone to call and speak to directly when they have an issue with their water, and a friendly face
to see when we are in their home. We may have a big name tacked on to us, but we are a small, locally owned and operated business, and we know how important those are in communities.”
Culligan’s goals extend beyond business success to fostering a cohesive team environment. Operating on a collaborative model, decisions are made collectively, problems are solved together, and successes are shared. The aim is to create an environment where the team enjoys their work and feels proud to be a part of something meaningful. Nicole explains that “We want to be able to provide an environment that people enjoy and want to be a part of.”
In addition to their residential services, Culligan is actively involved in the Commercial and Industrial sectors. Jason brings his expertise to expand those services in the Finger Lakes region, supported by Culligan’s expert engineers and resources.
When it comes to supporting the community, Culligan believes in making every dollar and minute count. They prioritize local suppliers, printers, and hardware shops, reinvesting in the same community that has supported them for decades. Their advertising dollars are spent locally, sponsoring events and organizations that make the community thrive.
Choosing Culligan means joining a family that cares. They stand firmly behind their products and services, always ready to assist their customers in understanding and improving their water quality. The growth of Culligan reflects the lessons learned from their customers and the relationships they’ve built. At Culligan, they’re not just purifying water; they’re enhancing lives and communities— one drop at a time.

Rotary Club
The Honeoye FallsMendon Rotarians raise funds to help local causes through several events, such as our annual Casino Night.
Rotary is dedicated to seven areas of focus to build international relationships, improve lives, and create a better world to support our peace efforts and end polio forever.
Service Above Self
OBJECT OF ROTARY
The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
1. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service.
2. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society.
3. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business and community life.
4. The advancement of international understanding, good will and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
Our Causes
PROMOTING PEACE
Rotary encourages conversations to foster understanding within and across cultures. We train adults and young leaders to prevent and mediate conflict and help refugees who have fled dangerous areas.
FIGHTING DISEASE
We educate and equip communities to stop the spread of life-threatening diseases like polio, HIV/ AIDS, and malaria. We improve and expand access to low-cost and free health care in developing areas.
PROVIDING CLEAN WATER, SANITATION, AND HYGIENE
We support local solutions to bring clean water, sanitation, and hygiene to more people every day. We don’t just build wells and walk away. We share our expertise with community leaders and educators to make sure our projects succeed long-term.
SAVING MOTHERS AND CHILDREN
Nearly 6 million children under the age of five die each year because of malnutrition, poor health care, and inadequate sanitation. We expand access to quality care, so mothers and their children can live and grow stronger.
SUPPORTING EDUCATION
More than 775 million people over the age of 15 are illiterate. Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy.
GROWING LOCAL ECONOMIES
We carry out service projects that enhance economic and community development and create opportunities for decent and productive work for young and old. We also strengthen local entrepreneurs and community leaders, particularly women, in impoverished communities.
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Rotary members are tackling environmental issues the way they always do: coming up with projects, using their connections to change policy and planning for the future.

COMMUNITIES BENEFIT WHEN CONSUMERS Shop Local
MORE MONEY KEPT IN THE COMMUNITY
Shopping locally means that more money will stay in the community. According to recent research from Civic Economics, local eateries return nearly 79 percent of revenue to the community, compared to just over 30 percent for chain restaurants. Overall, for every $100 spent at a local business, around $73 remains in the community, versus roughly $43 when shopping at a non-locally owned business.
GET A PERSONAL TOUCH
Local business owners typically are inclined to go the extra mile for their customers and are personally invested in the services and products they are selling. As a result, shopping locally tends to be a personalized experience. Furthermore, a local business owner may be more amenable to ordering products for specific clientele. Such personalized service is typically not accessible when shopping big box stores or other shops where owners are off-site.
LINES ARE SHORT
Waiting in long lines for checkout or to pick up merchandise ordered online can drain consumers’ energy and contribute to stress. Local businesses tend to have short lines and small crowds, which can lead to a more pleasant shopping experience.
GENERATES TAX REVENUE
Local businesses generate more tax revenue per sales dollar, according to Rubicon, a digital marketplace for waste and recycling businesses. Taxes paid by local small businesses go to support schools, parks, roads, and other programs that benefit the community as well.
SUPPORT NON-PROFITS
Local businesses often support good work in the community, such as non-profit groups. These can include schools and sports teams, among other groups. According to Dr. Sue Lynn Sasser, professor of economics at the University of Central Oklahoma, studies indicate non-profits “receive 250 percent more support from small businesses than larger ones.”
SUPPORT OTHER LOCAL BUSINESSES
Local businesses support other local businesses by buying and selling among each other. A local, independently owned restaurant may source its ingredients from local farms, which means visitors to such eateries are supporting multiple local businesses each time they dine out.
Small businesses are a boon to the economy, particularly local economies. These enterprises help their communities in a multitude of ways.

WELCOME TO HF-L
Welcome to the Honeoye Falls-Lima School Community. Our district’s commitment to continuous improvement and to keeping our students at the heart of every decision we make is apparent in all we do. We set high standards for performance through our Strategic Plan, and are able to achieve these high expectations in large part because of the commitment of our Board of Education, staff members and community members. Members of our community participate in our schools in a variety of ways—from volunteering in classrooms to participating in program-budget planning. We take great pride in the strong partnership between our community and schools that we have built by working together.
OUR DISTRICT
The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District was established in 1969 through a merger of the neighboring Honeoye Falls and Lima School Districts. Honeoye Falls, originally known as Norton’s Mills, was founded in 1791. Lima was founded three years later. Our district comprises 74 square miles and nine towns in three counties: Monroe County (Mendon, Henrietta and Rush); Livingston County (Avon, Lima and Livonia) and Ontario (Victor, West Bloomfield and Richmond).
The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District serves a student population of approximately 2,500. Our district includes four schools located on separate sites: Lima Primary (K-1); Manor Elementary (25); Middle School (6-8); and High School (9-12).
Our students benefit from many exciting and innovative programs, as well as enrichment opportunities. Advanced Placement classes are offered in art, biology, environmental, accounting, AB calculus, BC calculus, chemistry, French, English literature, English composition, macroeconomics, American government, American history, European history, comparative government & politics, Latin, physics, statistics, psychology, Spanish, and Pre-AP humanities. The program is internationally recognized as a rigorous collegelevel learning experience during which students research, debate and conduct inquiry on global issues of importance. It brings our high school students closer to “world class” performance. In addition, we offer instrumental music for students in grades 4-12, and numerous interscholastic sports, such as baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross-country, diving, track and field, football, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, skiing (Nordic and Alpine), soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball and wrestling. Our students achieve excellent results in a wide variety of sports and academic competitions.
OUR VISION
The Honeoye Falls-Lima School District’s collective curiosity, energy, enthusiasm and dedication drive our daily pursuit of excellence. As a centerpiece in the community, we will provide a caring, respectful, and educationally challenging environment that values and listens to its members. With our community, we will create a learning organization that provides a world-class education for our students. Teaching, learning and high standards will provide our graduates with a world-class education that will prepare them to compete in a continuously changing world.
Our graduates will think critically, creatively and independently, communicate effectively, solve problems and work cooperatively. They will be well-rounded and highly
skilled in the use of languages, mathematics and the sciences. Our students will understand and appreciate diversity. They will have a variety of experiences and an appreciation for the arts. They will be self-directed learners, grounded in ethics and prepared to accept the responsibilities of a contributing member of our local and the global community.
STRATEGIC PLANNING AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Our strategic planning process welcomes community members as active participants. A number of goals, or strategic intents, are established around key academic areas. The intents are monitored throughout the year to identify any adjustments that may be needed in program implementation.
Comprehensive and ongoing feedback from district residents, parents, students and staff drive our efforts toward continuous improvement. Residents are encouraged to attend school board meetings, which are regularly held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 7 pm in the Board of Education Room at the HF-L High School. We also encourage residents to take part in program budget planning and the Strategic Planning process. Contact the Superintendent’s Office for further information.
