Celebrating 167 Years
Welcome
TO THE 167TH ANNUAL WAYNE COUNTY FAIR!
The Board of Directors and Advisory Committee invite you, our volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, family, friends and neighbors to the best 6 days of the summer! Our theme this year is “Blue Jeans & Country Dreams at the Wayne County Fair.”
We promise there is a little bit of something for everyone from demolition derbies, goat yoga, pie contest, livestock competitions to veggie races and the annual Wayne County Fair Parade to so much more. Throughout the entire week, we offer daily free entertainment in our Entertainment Tent, on the back porch of Floral Hall and the Amazing Anastasini Circus will perform daily.
We often take for granted the role that agriculture plays in our daily lives. From the food we eat, the clothes we wear to the books we read. Almost everything we do can be traced back to agriculture.
The primary focus of the Wayne County Fair is to, first and foremost, serve as a showcase of the talents of the youth of the community by providing a means of education, exhibit and competition of the various livestock and nonlivestock projects the youth are involved in. We will also use the county fair to highlight the heritage of the community, and its ties to agriculture, industry, and businesses that are the backbone of the county.
As you walk throughout the fairgrounds, be sure to visit our buildings and tents that will showcase fruit, vegetables, flowers, home arts and many species of livestock. And be sure to not forget to sample all the delicious Fair food! Our staff and invaluable volunteers work hard to ensure that your Fair experience is fun-filled and full of memories. As you put on your “blue jeans” for a day at the Fair, we hope you get to experience a little bit of all that we have to offer! Thank you for attending the 2024 Wayne County Fair! We are very grateful for your continued patronage and support of the county’s largest and longest-running public event.
Sincerely,
Pam Ferranti

Parade Marshall
This year’s Wayne County Fair Parade Marshall is a team: the former Supervisor of Marion, and a prior Fair Board Member, now retired, Jolene and Paul Bender. We were always at or in the parade, but never expected to be there for the Fair as a Parade Marshall.
Jody and I are each transplants (she moving from Chemung County, I from Genesee), but we have now lived in Wayne County for over 40 years, and we do consider Wayne County to be our home now. We have a combination of four sons, and seven grandchildren, who are spread out over many eastern and southern states at this time. They also spent many hours at the Fair over the years, and still even return to enjoy “Fair week” as often as they can.
Jody has been involved in local and county politics, and in addition to many years of service (over 50) to the Town of Marion, advancing from Deputy Town Clerk to Town Supervisor, and even returning to service after a prior retirement, she has also served as Chairman of the Marion Republican Party for many years, but she has finally retired from all public service so she (we) can now travel to see those wide-flung children and grandchildren.
Paul has worn many hats. Attorney, a Marion Town Justice in excess of 40 years and a Wayne County Fair Board member for 40 years. He is a life member of the Marion Fire Department and he was a past member of Marion Rotary.
We are currently members of Second Reformed Church (EFCA), and Paul has been an active member of the Gideons for over 40 years.
Jody and I have spent many years at and enjoying the Fair. She, with no farm experience, has still milked goats there on many occasions, she and he have eaten more than their share of ice cream and milkshakes, burgers, chicken and more. He, as a Board member, was chiefly dedicated to promotion and presentation of the all popular Demo, and maybe he can even milk a goat in 2024.
As a Board member, and along with all the current and past Board Members, he has dedicated himself to many years of service to the Fair, mowing the grass, tending the buildings, and making sure that the Wayne County Fair could be (was) the top Fair in New York State overall.
I have appreciated that the Fair was able to present a program every year for over 167 years, and that we were even able to have a Fair offering during the difficult Covid years. The Fair does more than offer a fun-filled week in the summer; it also promotes interest in farming and other events and education which does grow and motive leaders for today and the future – it may be “old” but I cannot see a world without our annual Wayne County Fair, and I am happy to remember what I, we, and the Board have accomplished over these many years.
See you Fair week!
Paul and Jody
