Compost Bin and Leaf Storage The compost bin can be made as simply as screwing together 4 wood paletts and stapeling chicken wire around the outside and bottom with a plywood top that hinges from one side. Hungry Gnome offers a cedar compost bin with one removable side for easy turning and removal of material. The leaf storage corall should be made from a length of 2”x4” wire fencing. It should simply create a temporary holding area for leaves collected from the neighborhood. This material should be added to the compost to reduce smell. Broken down leaves at the bottom of the leaf pile can be used as mulch in the vegetable garden.
