GROUNDWORK CASE STUDY PROJECT OBJECTIVES  The project, run in 6 areas of England and Wales and on-line, aimed to test the impact of community engagement on uptake of products and services designed to encourage residents to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. In Manchester the project ran in Moston for 3 months in early 2013  A range of community engagement techniques were employed, ranging from one-to-one to one-to-many activities, to test the effectiveness of different techniques  The project also aimed to test the effectiveness of different messages in engaging people, for example messages around health, financial savings, environmental protection and so on

OUR ROLE  Organising and delivering a marketing campaign  Operating a Green Doctor helpline  Delivering inspirational talks to community groups to encourage individuals to take action and encourage their friends and neighbours to do so  Delivering Green Doctor surgeries at community venues  Door knocking to engage residents on a one-to-one basis  Running a Green Doctor service using the latest technology, allowing a “prescription” and referral information to be handed to the homeowner on site

NEXT STEPS Groundwork MSSTT are looking for opportunities to roll out their Green Doctor service and welcome enquiries from potential partners, including housing associations, utility companies, Green Deal providers and any other organisation which feels this service would support their objectives
