Hadleigh Cricket Club

First of all, Happy New Year from all at Hadleigh Cricket Club! We go in to 2023 with several changes, both on and off the pitch.

Starting from the top, we say farewell to our chairman of 7 years, Dave Mann. Dave was a fantastic Chairman over seven years in the role, preceded by a further seven years as Vice-Chair. He played a key role in developing the club during this time, fostering close relationships with key stakeholders in Suffolk cricket, ensuring that funding opportunities were maximised and we are grateful for his dedication, hard work and commitment. At the same time, we welcomed our new Chair, Simon Gladwell, and Vice-Chair Tony Stenning. Both will bring a wealth of both cricket and commercial experience to the running of the club.

On the field, Dominic Manthorpe takes the reins as first team captain, and Arran Tampion steps up to second team captain. The Academy and Ladies XI captains, David Levitt and Sharon Elliott remain in post. We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic and dedicated person to develop our social media presence. Cricket knowledge is not essential, and we have a fantastic graduate videographer who is currently interning at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park who would be delighted to ‘mentor’ this individual.

If you have driven or walked past the ground over the past few weeks, I’m sure that you have also noticed another big change to the club… the construction of our brand new decking area. Support from our sponsors has been invaluable, with Hadleigh Tyre Group, Hevey Building Supplies (Sudbury) and ATS Skip Hire all helping us with either funding, materials or free services. We are very grateful for their continued support, and also for the hard work of Lee at Kingswood in the construction. The decking will enhance our facilities, providing additional seating for spectators, and we look forward to spending a sunny afternoon there with something cold and refreshing from the bar!

Claire Levitt, Social Secretary
