Although the war in Europe had come to a close, this was not the end of Harry’s service. The battalion was redeployed to Palestine and Harry remained with them until he was demobbed in 1947. As one of the last surviving combatants of WW2, he represents the last helped the create the peace in Europe that we have enjoyed for the Legion to attend the national commemorative service to be held at old, Harry remains a local hero.
