About Haileybury Haileybury is one of the leading independent schools in the Asia-Pacific region with campuses in Keysborough, Brighton, Berwick, Melbourne (City), Darwin and Beijing. The School is acclaimed for its outstanding academic achievements, small class sizes, broad range of co-curricular activities, and state-of-the-art facilities. Learning is based on the different learning styles of students, and on their gender, age, interests and potential.

With 128 years of history, Haileybury has changed dramatically, and is now one of the leading private schools in Australia. Haileybury’s mission is to develop high-achieving students, connected globally, to each other, and to the communities in which they live and which they will serve. In 2019, The Educator Magazine awarded Haileybury with Department Head of the Year, Best Professional Learning Program, and Australian School Principal of the Year at the Australian Education Awards. The Parallel Education Model at Haileybury allows boys and girls to learn together in younger years, and then separately as they move into middle and senior years. Haileybury also has a strong sense of community, with links through activities that bring the School together throughout the year. Acclaimed as a great, leading independent school, Haileybury is proud of the highly successful Parallel Education Model, caring teachers, small class sizes and an unmatched level of attention to each student.

Our Vision To be recognised as a great world school.

Our Mission To develop high achieving students who are connected globally, to each other and to the communities in which they live and which they will serve.

Our Values Excellence Knowledge and skills Integrity and respect Diversity and cultural global awareness Connectedness A sense of compassion and caring Child safety – zero tolerance of child abuse One school

CEO | Principal’s Comment to the Haileybury Community Dear Parents We are pleased to announce that Haileybury students have produced the best VCE results in the School’s history. We acknowledge all our students who have experienced the VCE journey. Completing the VCE is a true achievement and underlines our students’ absolute dedication and hard work. The fact that Haileybury’s collective results are simply outstanding shows that determination, hard work, great programs and the best teachers can make a difference. Three Haileybury students achieved the highest possible ATAR of 99.95. Remarkably, 35% of all boys and girls were in the top 5% in Australia. 58% of Haileybury Girls College students and 52% of Haileybury College students attained an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank in the top 10% in Australia. These extraordinary results are testament to our students’ commitment, work ethic and exceptional teaching. They are a record for a Haileybury cohort and, by any measure, at the very top of performances by Victorian and Australian schools. Haileybury is an open-entry school and the achievement of 93% of all students in the top 40% in Australia is an excellent reflection of our commitment to every student.

Our School motto that “Every student matters every day” is being lived and is reflected in students having the opportunity and the support to reach their potential. While much has been written and discussed about the declining academic performance of Australian students, Haileybury’s 2019 cohort (and the performance of our students over many years) has defied this trend. Our teachers are committed to evidence-based strategies that work, and to their students. I pay a tribute to all the staff for this exceptional performance. I would also like to acknowledge the efforts of the students themselves and the commitment of all families. Great academic results are the product of a strong partnership between the students, parents and guardians and the School and its staff. The result of this hard work is there for all to see – absolutely brilliant individual student performances which flow into an extraordinary school performance. My congratulations go to all students, their families and the teaching staff. This is a wonderful collective effort. Yours sincerely Derek Scott CEO | Principal
