First Past the Post
Hamilton Park the only Scottish course to win at prestigious industry awards. Hamilton Park Racecourse has been named winner of the Racing Post Readers’ Award at the Racecourse Association Showcase Awards. The hugely prestigious award is nominated exclusively by readers of the publication and based on their experiences at racecourses up and down the country. The accolade – for racecourses’ dedication to providing exemplary customer service – was announced at the glitzy sixth annual RCA Showcase Awards at Ascot Racecourse, with Hamilton Park the only Scottish racecourse to pick up an award at the gala event. Vivien Kyles, Chief Executive at Hamilton Park Racecourse said: “We are thrilled to win the Racing Post Readers’ Award. “This award, which is voted for by Racing Post readers and our customers, is recognition of our venue, its facilities and the incredible hard work of our staff and their dedication to provide visitors with an outstanding raceday experience. It is a real honour to be presented with it.” The judges commended the Hamilton venue’s immaculate surroundings, incredible team spirit and desire, from senior management to casual raceday worker, to deliver a first-class customer experience. This latest award comes hot on the heels of the Lanarkshire venue winning the new Gold Standard award for owners presented by the Racehorse Owners Association, making them one of only 12 racecourses in the UK to hold that distinction. The Showcase Awards celebrate excellence and innovation on Britain’s racecourses, with individual awards handed out in twelve categories plus the two Champion Awards. With 2015 proving to be another award winning year for the Lanarkshire venue, it looks like there’s no better time to come racing at Hamilton Park.
Bigger, Bolder, Better Super Saturdays come to Hamilton Park for 2016. Hamilton Park Racecourse is all set for the 2016 season with some fantastic fixtures across the summer months. New for this season is the Super Saturday series which will see the racecourse take the bold step of taking traditional Saturday evening fixtures and turning them into all day events featuring first class entertainment, top class racing action and first class hospitality. “We believe we’re breaking new ground with this strategy,” said Vivien Kyles. “A change to our fixture list has given us a new Saturday in September and we feel the time is right to try something new, particularly with racing becoming more and more about the social occasion and day out. “Each of the days will have its own identity - a Highland Show theme for the families, a music festival and of course our record breaking Ladies’ Night will return, bigger and bolder than ever before.” With gates opening at 12pm on Super Saturdays and running through until late, the events will showcase live racing in the evenings as well as broadcasting all the action from up and down the country’s tracks throughout the afternoon to make sure that racing remains at the heart of the event.
The Premier 5 “Elsewhere in the calendar we’ve got some fantastic events,” explains Vivien. “Our Premier 5 include historic nights like Braveheart Night, Saints & Sinners, Ladbrokes Lanark Silver Bell, and of course our richest day’s racing - John Smith’s Fair Friday. “2016 is shaping up to be our biggest yet, on and off the track, with increased prize money enhancing the quality of the racing and the continued development of our entertainment programme to create unmissable events.”
Hospitality selling fast With the new season under way in May, we have a range of afternoons, evenings and weekend fixtures providing something for everyone, whether you are looking to impress clients in one of our fantastic private boxes or celebrate that special occasion with family and friends. “We’ve been inundated with enquiries and bookings for the season’s hospitality already,” explains Kirsty Reynolds, Hospitality Sales Manager at Hamilton Park. “We’ve seen more bookings pre-Christmas than ever before so I’d urge anyone looking to book up to get in touch as soon as possible, especially
for Super Saturdays and the Premier 5, which are regular sell outs. “As we do each winter, we’ve reviewed all of our offerings based on feedback from our customers, and made adjustments to make sure we’re doing everything we can to exceed their expectations,” adds Kirsty. “2015 was an award winning year for the course and we’re looking to deliver even more for our customers in 2016.”
Book early for the best price! The Hamilton Park Racecourse Season 2016 certainly looks set to be the venue’s best yet and your ideal choice for a day out for business or pleasure. This is our third year of sponsoring the event which is testament to the synergy between Alea and Hamilton Park.” Tickets for the extended event, including access to the stylish new shopping and pamper area in association with Debenhams and hair and beauty specialists Rainbow Room International, are on sale now, offering great value at just £25 in advance, £30 on the day.
