elcome to Enclosure! – your guide to everything you need to know to plan your perfect visit to Hamilton Park in 2013! For 2013 we have made a few changes that we are sure will make your visit to Hamilton Park more enjoyable and more cost effective. We will no longer have dual enclosures for the Super Six, meaning everyone will have access to all public bars at all meetings during the season. We’ve reduced the cost of coming racing on afternoon meetings as well as increasing the age of FREE children’s admission to Under 18’s. We have a couple of changes to the fixture list this season, including the introduction of two new themed nights – Casino Royale Racenight sponsored by Thomson on Friday 10th May and Motown Boogie Racenight on Wednesday 12th June. More details of these can be found inside.

Super Six and Premier Racemeetings The Hamilton Park Super Six are just that, the top six racemeetings of the year. Excitement, glamour and speed combine on these popular fixtures as everyone enjoys the entertainment both on and off the track.

and perform in front of our judging panel. The following week we have John Smith’s Mid-Fair Friday – our richest raceday of the season which features not only the John Smith’s Scottish Stewards Cup, but also this seasons EBF Glasgow Stakes.

We kick off the season with our Premier opening day on 5th May followed a couple of weeks later by the first of this season’s Super Six – The Ginger Grouse Braveheart Night featuring the Red Hot Chilli Pipers. Saints & Sinners then returns at the end of June and is sure to be another highlight of the Scottish Racing season. Make sure you buy your tickets well in advance!

The first Saturday in August is Ladies’ Night and we have a superb tribute to Robbie Williams after racing as well as a new VIP package that gives you the chance to enjoy the event like never before. Ladbrokes Lanark Silver Bell Racenight completes the Super Six on Friday 23rd August, our last evening meeting of the season and another featuring top quality racing.

July plays host to two of our biggest nights of the year. Saturday 13th July is Hamilton Park’s Got Talent Racenight where we will be inviting local talent to enter our fantastic competition

2013 gets off to a flying start with our traditional season opener on the May Bank Holiday weekend helping to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Bring the whole family to enjoy a wide choice of free children’s activities including fairground rides, crazy golf and paintball to name but a few. Top class racing and Scottish themed entertainment come together on The Ginger Grouse Braveheart Night for the first Super Six fixture of the season. In addition to our featured listed race The Ginger Grouse Braveheart Stakes, we will also have pipers, highland dancers and new for 2013 our very own mini Highland Games! We are also delighted to be welcoming the world renowned Red Hot Chilli Pipers who will be performing their fantastic live show after racing.

Wednesday 12th June Motown Boogie Racenight

Boogie down with your guests to the greatest hits from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s at our Motown Boogie Racenight. We have another great evening in store for you, topped off with live music after racing. Alternatively our marquee package includes champagne on arrival, dinner and wine as well as an exclusive disco after racing. Fancy dress is optional but encouraged! The fun doesn’t stop there as we have quality racing lined up for your guests to enjoy the excitement, speed, and glamour that a racemeeting has to offer at Hamilton Park Racecourse. Lanarkshire Chamber of Commerce are also joining us this evening so do get in touch if you are looking to network with the local business community.

Our big charity night of the year is back and promises to be bigger and better than ever. The event will feature live music after racing and some fantastic entertainment including the Best Dressed Couple competition, making this an occasion not to be missed – just remember to wear white if you’re a Saint and red if you’re a Sinner or just leave it to the imagination... but glitz and glamour are certainly the theme for this night!

This is a day for the real racing enthusiast! We have a fantastic afternoon of racing planned as well as throwing the spotlight on local racing heroes. We’ll be talking to some of the people who make racing in Scotland as special as it is!

Saturday 13th July

Hamilton Park’s Got Talent Racenight After the success of last year’s competition, we’ve switched the show to a Saturday night to really showcase local talent on the main stage. Last year’s winner Jade Burke is on the road to stardom and can be heard as the voice of Hamilton Park on this year’s radio campaign on Clyde 1. Entries will open for the competition in May so be sure to keep an eye on our official Facebook page for details of the competition and how YOU could be in with a chance of taking to the stage and walking away with a fantastic cash prize of £500! Before the action on stage, the action on track will be centre of attention on this Saturday night not to be missed!

John Smiths’ Mid-Fair Friday Everyone is in a party mood as they let their hair down to enjoy quality racing at our Mid-Fair Friday Racenight. This will be the richest raceday at Hamilton Park this season and will feature top quality racing – not only the John Smith’s Scottish Stewards Cup but also the EBF Glasgow Listed Stakes.This is a night’s racing not to be missed and is perfect for those racing fans eager to see some of the most famous jockeys and horses in the sport.

Big hats and high fashion are the theme for the most glamorous night out of the summer! Ladbrokes Lanark Silver bell RaceNight with Live Music

High quality racing is the focus of this night with the historic Lanark Silver Bell taking centre stage in an action packed card. This will be the sixth running of the Ladbrokes Lanark Silver Bell Handicap and the trophy itself is believed to be the oldest sporting trophy in existence and dates back to 1165 when it was gifted to the people of Lanark by King William ‘The Lion’. We will also be presenting the ‘new’ Silver Bell trophy, commissioned and presented for the first time last year.

We’re finishing 2013 in style with a fantastic afternoon for all the family on the September Monday holiday. Children’s favourite Shaun the Sheep will be joining us for the afternoon and he’ll be hosting his very own ‘Championsheeps’. This is a school sports day with a twist and we encourage you to come along and have a go at the Naughty Pigs Sack Race, Free Range Egg & Spoon Race or the Sheep Hopper Pie-athalon! If something a little less energetic is for your little ones then there will be plenty of opportunities for them to meet Shaun on the day. On the track we see the culmination of the seasonal awards for leading Owner and Trainer as well as a seven race card of top quality racing.

the inside story WHERE TO EAT AND DRINK OVERTON FARM BBQ If you’re looking for something to eat on the move then we have a variety of concessions available depending on the event, however the BBQ is open for every racemeeting and serves homemade, locally produced beef burgers from Overton Farm right here in Lanarkshire. THE CONSERVATORY CAFé BAR The Conservatory Café Bar looks out over the Paddock Lawns and is the ideal place for the family to relax and enjoy a range of freshly prepared food and hot and cold drinks whilst taking in the day’s events. We have also introduced a children’s soft play area for the under 4’s, beside our new Gift Shop and Box Office where you can pick up a souvenir from your day at the races and book ahead for your next visit.

DUKES, panorama AND BRAVEHEART BARS The main public bars in the grandstand at the racecourse are the Dukes, Panorama Bar and the Braveheart Bar. Dukes and Panorama overlook the track and are ideal to grab a drink between taking in the live action. Braveheart Bar is situated on the paddock side of the grandstand and incorporates the on course betting shop. We also have a number of other bar facilities that are open around the course at various times. Racing UK Bar The Racing UK Bar is situated in the grandstand, near the winning post. This is the ideal bar to take in the action on the big screen or simply drop in for a quick drink between races!

WHAT TO WEAR to the races We do not have a dress code, although football colours are not encouraged. We like our racegoers to be happy and comfortable. On Ladies’ Night and Saints & Sinners Racenight racegoers are able to really enjoy dressing up and wear hats or fascinators if they choose. Ladies’ Night will be all about the fashion - with competitions for the best dressed lady on the evening. Although there is lots of grass around, there are also plenty of paths, so high heels are not a problem.

There is free parking in the main public car park for all meetings. There is also the Dukes car park for label holders, Annual Members, Owners, Trainers and Jockeys. On busier days/ evenings, there is overflow parking at Hamilton College and Caird Street.

Special viewing areas, parking, toilets and a lift are provided with access recommended via the Dukes entrance. We also have a portable induction loop which can be requested at the racecourse office.
