FIRST-EVER HAMMER LAMBERT OPEN RAISED $107,776! IT WAS A HOLE-IN-ONE KIND OF DAY! By Ginger Venable, Event Manager There were 125 golfers, 37 sponsors, and 56 volunteers that teed up at our first-ever golf tournament at Golden Valley Country Club on Monday, June 7. With temperatures soaring to 96 degrees, we had fun in the sun and also raised $107,776 to help make life better for the people who live at Hammer. It was so hot that the winners jumped in the pool at the award ceremony! Thank you to the Lambert family: Jeff, Sue, Paul, David, and Kelly for making this event a huge success. We made a lot of new friends for Hammer and hope they will stay connected. The people served by Hammer, like Kelly, need all of us to help them live life to its fullest. A big thank you to ACI Asphalt and Concrete, Inc. for being our presenting sponsor and to KFAN and Golden Valley Country Club. We enjoyed box lunches from Pearson Salted Nut Roll and a fabulous BBQ dinner pool side thanks to Geritom Medical. The day before the tournament, Utepils Brewing hosted a festive party in the beer garden and donated $1 for every beer sold to Hammer. Fear of Fish, featuring Kevin and Allie Borer, rocked the day with their five-piece band. As one guest of both events commented, “It is simply amazing how many people are willing to come to support Hammer! They must be doing something right.”
WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS Fifty-six event volunteers braved the heat to greet and treat our guests.
