EDITOR'S LETTER

Welcome Since I began working with the Handmade team about 18 months ago, I’ve become increasingly passionate about craft in so many forms. I bought my first sewing machine, made my first quilt, rediscovered my love of jewellery making, and designed and made the invitations for a friend’s wedding. There’s no doubt this magazine has been a huge influence on my life, so I’m very excited to be able to give back to it as editor.

You might notice a few changes this issue; we’ve tried to simplify the magazine’s look to make the articles easier to read, the projects easier to find and the instructions easier to follow. Let us know what you think by dropping us a line on Facebook at www.facebook.com/handmademagazine We’re also super excited to have launched our brand new blog at handmade.com.au which is fast filling up with all sorts of crafty titbits. And don’t forget, you can find plenty of beautiful fabrics and handy supplies at patchworkandcraft.com.au

Editor’s Pick Sharlene Jones-Martin’s evening purse is not only elegant, it's also a great way to use up small pieces of felt.
