CMRF’s are due on the 10th of every month! Hello everyone! I am the new Lieutenant Governor of Division 6, Hannah Hickman. Nothing makes me happier than being able to serve one of the best divisions in the New Jersey District for the 20132014 service year! I am a junior at Brick Memorial, and have been a member of Key Club since my freshman year, and a member of the K-Family since 2007! In addition to Key Club, I am a member of my school’s Drama Club, Chorus, and Women’s Choir. Despite only holding the position of General Member in Key Club, I have worked closely with my executive board and I know the ins and outs of KCI. The K-Family has been my life since I was in 6th grade and now, it’s time for me lead! As your LTG, my number one goal is have our division work together on more projects. Our division is lucky enough to be set up where our clubs are close together. With more than one club working together, we have

the opportunity to do great things for our District’s Project, the Eliminate Project. I would also like to continue the great communication that IP LTG Brittany Kraft has started and improve on that even further. Division 6 is one of the best divisions and we can only go up from here. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me! Yours in Caring and Service, Hannah Hickman

What is the Eliminate Project?

The New Jersey District of Key Club International, along with the Kiwanis and UNICEF, has chosen once again to support the Eliminate Project as our district project. But what is the Eliminate Project? The Eliminate Project is a campaign to rid the world of maternal and neonatal tetanus. This deadly disease takes the lives of nearly 60,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year. The effects of the disease are excruciating — tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch. To eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus from the Earth, 129 million mothers and babies must be immunized. To cover the cost of vaccines, syringes, and other costs, the Kiwanis Family and UNICEF will need to raise $110 million, and want to do so by 2015.

Do you want to be part of the fight to eradicate this horrible disease? For $1.80, a mother will receive health education and a series of three vaccines to protect her and her children from MNT. That’s right, $1.80. With less than two dollars you can save the life of a mother and child. With your help, maternal and neonatal tetanus can be eliminated from our world! How can you help aid in the fight against MNT? +Hold a Bake Sale! +Sponsor a Movie Night! +Host a Restaurant Night! +Hold a Talent Show! +Sell Candles, Cookie Dough, or Candy! +Hold a Dance There is so much you can do to help!

Did You Get Spiffy with Service?

The 67th Annual New Jersey District Convention (DCON) was held April 5th to April 7th at the Ocean Place Resort & Spa, in Long Branch, NJ, and boy, it was the bee’s knees! With over 650 Key Clubbers from all of New Jersey, we celebrated the wildly successful service year and rang in the new one! This year’s theme surely brought you back to the good ol’ days with its 1920’s theme: The Great GatsKEY! At District Convention we had the opportunity to: *Participate in intense elections for the District Board. *Listen on to inspirational speeches and sessions. *Attend informative workshops. *Dance the night away at our numerous dances. *Bid on the fabulous District Board in hopes to steal a dance with them, Our Keynote Speaker, Monica Gupta was a past District Governor and reminded us all that we must follow our passion: service! We got to meet our Internation Trustee, Colten Meisner, where he commended the Jersey District for having such a great service year. Here is to a spiffy new service year!
