Greetings Division 6! Summer is right around the corner. You know what that means: a whole rush of freshman members! It is vital that you get these members to love Key Club as soon as possible so that they may be a part of our K-Family for years to come. I know that the first weeks of school are a bit overwhelming so it is vital to budget your time. Good luck to everyone! I know that you all will do wonderful. Don’t be afraid to rely on your fellow executive board members to get what you need done. I am here to help you all as well! Keep working hard and you’ll be able to do anything! Enjoy your last week of summer!
Youth Opportunity Fund
Held within the Kiwanis International foundation, the Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) is an endowed fund held for Key Club International. This fund is used by Key Club members all over the world to help grant service opportunities. The fund is provided by earned interest and provides academic scholarships for higher education. Also, it is established through a portion of your Key Club International dues, and through the purchase of G. Harold Martin Fellowships. Why is this so important? Well, ever find yourself eager to perform a certain service task? However, you were unable to hold it due to lack of funds? For example, a service fair, or service items which includes books for children. Well Key Clubbers fear no more, the Youth Opportunities Fund is here for you! Clubs and individuals can apply for the grant, and it is implemented in $200.00 to $2,000.00. You can find the application on the Key Club website, the deadline is October 15h. YOF grants can help you take action. Look around and identify the things that need to get done in your school, community or world.
