Hannah’s Happenings Hello Division 6! As the school year ends, we must remember that Key Club goes on throughout the summer. It’s time to start planning tons of projects for your club to participate in over the summer. There are a multitude of walks, clean-ups and, volunteering to be done over the summer. Though our main objective is service, Key Club is also about making bonds and friendships that last a lifetime. Plan a social event with your club. Plan a night where your entire club goes out for ice cream, or goes to the beach, or goes to a movie. Don’t be afraid to involve the other clubs in our division. The more the merrier! Just because you may not be in school, you must remember to send in your CMRF’s throughout the summer and check your emails! There will be projects throughout the summer, so be sure keep in the loop! Have a great, safe summer everyone!

Regional Training Conference Recap

Did you Experiment with Service? The Spring Regional Training Conferences were held May 11 at Cedar Crest High School and May 18 at Bloomfield High School. After a scrumptious breakfast, Key Clubbers attended the opening session, which provided insightful information about the happenings in the New Jersey District. After the riveting opening session, the scientists – I mean, Key Clubbers went to four different workshops of their choice. The workshops ranged from our District Project, FUNdraising, K-Family Relations, and Recruiting and Keeping Members. After

the workshops, a splendiferous lunch was

Meet the Governor‌No, Not That One!

Hey New Jersey Key Clubbers!

My name is Katie Fuller and I am the 2013-2014 Georgia District Governor. Georgia is a sister district of New Jersey and here in the south, things are a little different! For the past 25 years Georgia District Key Club has had a strong partnership with the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes. This is an organization sponsored by the Georgia Sheriffs' Association. There are 5 campuses across the state. These children are given opportunities that were not possible prior to them living at these homes. They care for children of all ages and backgrounds. The children live with house parents who alternate every other week. They attend public school and do extra-curricular activities like every other student. Their most recent need has been to expand their Learning Center on the Pineland Campus. Key Club was told the total project would be $150,000, in just 4 short years we were able to raise half that and they will be breaking ground for the expansion on June 1st! Georgia District loves working with the Youth Homes and will continue to work with them for many years to come!

What’s Happening in the NJ District?

Hi everyone!

My name is Michaela Patoilo and I am the Lieutenant Governor of Division 20. Outside of Key Club, I have also been a Girl Scout for the past twelve years. Thanks to the help of many generous donors and Key Clubbers, I am currently finalizing work on my Gold Award Project, an equivalent of becoming an Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts. For the award I had to devise and plan a project to make a difference in my home, school, or community, and carry it out with a minimum of 65 service hours.

My project, the H.U.G.S. Project, donated essential items as well as stuffed animals to help children. In total, I sent 15 boxes of supplies, including blankets, clothes, school supplies and stuffed animals overseas. The boxes will go to an orphanage in Afghanistan and the IBN hospital in Iraq. In addition, I donated 13 boxes to Family Service of Morris County and to their partners who serve our local veterans.

Do not worry; I did not forget our own service members. Some of the boxes sent to Afghanistan contained boxes of Girl Scout cookies and approximately 400 handwritten thank you notes for the troops. Being a Key Clubber from two Marine parents, I chose to help children and American military past, present, and future. I could not have done it without the support of amazing Key clubbers like you, so thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Yours in caring and service, Michaela Patoilo Lieutenant Governor of Division

Meet our International Trustee

I'm Colten Meisner, the Key Club International Trustee for Georgia, Indiana, and New Jersey. In my role, I keep in constant communication with my assigned districts, serve on two committees of the International Board, and I also vote on any decisions of the International Board that affect the entirety of our organization. On a personal note, I hail from the 16th largest city in the United States: Fort Worth, Texas! Although I'm a proud Texan and southerner, I don't exactly fit the bill of a "cowboy" as many people believe Texans to be. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about me, my position,

International updates, or if you'd just like to chat. Happy serving! colten.meisner@gmail.com
