TASK 2

DESIGN MANIFESTO This is a 3D manifesto made up of 3 A6 canvases. I have taken a mixed media approach to my creation of these pieces by using, watercolour, acrylic paint, cotton, lace and copper wire throughout. The use of multiple media symbolises a layered approach which I use in my design process by looking at many different factors and approaches to create a holistic design. Overall, my manifesto aims to show list of priorities and a framework to work to as a designer and what I can continuously improve on and adapt. The first canvas on the left highlights step one of my design process where I am identifying the building, concept and defining what is important with the brief. The second canvas, in the middle consists of another important process in designing, this is where I question the space, the brief and the concept and adapt and improve my design to not only fit the building to consider every aspect of the space touched on in step one and to expand and solve and problems and the highlight the positives. The third canvas depicts what I aim for when I am designing and what I wish to continue aiming for, such as sustainability, a natural design, based on well-being and a multifaceted design to be more than just aesthetically pleasing but to also to useful and work with the users needs and expectations. Furthermore, I have used to word growth to highlight that through design I aim to continue my journey of growth as a designer and as a person into my future career in interior design.

HANNAH MORTON INTERIOR DESIGN

PROFILE I am currently a level 6 student at The University of Salford in my third year of studying Interior Design. This has always been something I have wanted to do from watching programs such as Grand Design and George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces. Other inspirations stem from Frank Gehry’s and his passion for giving building life through the theme of movement. Through recent projects, I have realised I am passionate about creating designs which can improve health and well-being and the importance of sustainable design.
