Editor’s Notes In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly John McCrae, 1915 Hashers will spread like red poppies across Flanders Fields in the medieval village of Kortrijk at Belgian Nash Hash next month. Just another boring April Fools weekend in a UNESCO World Heritage site, with copious quantities of Belgian Nectar of the Gods on tap? We shall not sleep, though poppies grow, In Flanders fields. Few will waste time sleeping during this extraordinary weekend. As my old Irish gym teacher used to tell me….”… Ay Jimmie, you can sleep when you’re dead”. From old Europe we journey to the dark continent joining the Kampala H3 on their “Run, drink, & party” weekend on Lake Victoria, Uganda. Our Africa correspondent, Head Mistress, reveals her tales of good clean fun with a healthy mixture of drunken debauchery at this annual event. My favorite place in all of “Nam” is Nha Trang, the home of Vietnam Nash Hash and the 4th Anniversary of the Nha Trang H3. The main venue for this event is fittingly named Crazy Kim’s Bar. Nha Trang boasts some of the finest

Oh, did I happen to mention that Vietnam has some great tasting brews? Last we heard from Fiji was that they were going to host Interhash in 2018, but many have wondered…what have these guys been up to since then? IH Fiji chairman Sir Doc Cock answers that question with promises of more revelations in the upcoming editions of Harrier Magazine. I may have to visit there soon for a first hand report on what’s in store for Interhash on one of the most idyllic island settings on the planet. The Angeles City H3’s 2000th run was apparently so good that people are still raving about it. Memories of the good old days in the City of the Angels, and some facts are set straight in this edition. For those of you in Angeles City this month for my

And who can argue with sound advice like that? As usual, Sir Malibog vies with the new president of the USA to offend as many people as possible in this month’s Stockholm Absolut Hash Trash. So here’s hoping that …February will not make you quiver, With every Harrier Magazine we deliver, With good news on your doorstep, Go ahead and take some more steps. See you on trail soon. Belgian Nash Hash in Kortrijk

12 Harrier

By Julie Burgess, photos by Alan Winter After a wild party in the city of Antwerp in 2016, the 20th edition of the Belgian Nash Hash is going back to nature and Zen in the charming green medieval village of Kortrijk. The event will be held on the April Fools weekend, 31 March until 02 April, 2017. The venue is a new hostel with spacious en suite rooms, high ceilings and lots of light. As usual, Belgian beer, the nectar of the gods, flows Ă volontĂŠ. Hashers have the opportunity to taste regional food and beer specialties. On Friday, the hash will frequent the lively bar scene, experiencing the well lit architecture by night. The evening will end with more beer and some bowling.

ast December, I travelled to Uganda to join the Kampala Hash House Harriers on their annual weekend away to the Ssese islands on Victoria Lake.

The weekend was boldly advertised as: ‘Run, walk, jog, drink, relax, party, meditate, play, there will be a bit of everything to experience’. This was quite a big statement for a hash to make but despite all the mismanagement, the weekend certainly did somehow live up to all this and more. So how well did the weekend provide all these experiences? ‘Run’ - well there were some opportunities mainly on the only hash of the weekend from the resort up into some thick jungle vegetation which meant that running was a little restricted, so it was a bit more like

Rooms available: One of our visiting Pattaya Hashmen has booked rooms and some people in his group are now unable to attend. The rooms are at the Edele Hotel from 23-27 March, 4 nights @ 150Usd per room total. Please contact Mark Ward (Sperm Polluter)mwardhse@yahoo.co.uk direct for more information. General Accommodation: The town in booming and hotels are going up everywhere. We are locals so don’t generally stay in hotels, we don’t know whether you like luxury mid range or budget and the online sites advertise special rates in a competitive market of which we have no knowledge. So its much better to research that way. There is a satellite area called Vinh Hai (Hon Chong Beach) north of the bridge which markets itself as being in the middle of town. Not true - its about 6km north of the
