Editor’s Notes To the surprise of some and the delight of many, Fiji will take World Interhash out of Asia for the second time since Cardiff hosted Interhash in 2004. Persistence apparently pays off as Fiji has been bidding to host the event since 2012. Perth, Australia hosted the event in 2008. Interhash 2010 went to Kuching, Malaysia, 2012 was held in Borobudur, Indonesia, 2014 was in Hainan, China, and 2016 was in Bali, Indonesia. Bali previously hosted Interhash in 2008. How was Interhash 2016 in Bali where the largest congregation of hashers ever converged on the Island of the Gods? It’s hard to please 6000 people, even when you take them to the most spectacular hashing terrain on the planet. With an all-star cast of organizers from what was arguably the best Interhash ever, four years before in Java, how could Bali be anything but magnificent? Read CIA’s review of the event. The recent Cambodia Nash Hash in Sihanoukville shows what a small group of hashers can do when they put their half-minds to it. This handful of dedicated hashers even organized a piss-up in the Angkor Brewery. Those of you going to

nother successful interhash has concluded, so let’s review the event so that the next organizers of interhash (Fiji) can learn from this experience. The event was put on by many of the same folks who put on interhash in Jogjakarta in 2012 which was perhaps the best interhash of all time. It would be hard to equal that experience but this was a well organized and solidly run event. So how did it go? First, free bus transportation was provided from the airport to the HQ hotel for a few days prior to the start of interhash. This was reminiscent of both the Jogjakarta and Tasmania interhashes. It was a bit confusing at the airport as there were no signs directing hashers to the bus but any seasoned traveler could figure it out. Many of the taxi touts were trying to tell people the buses weren’t running and I guess a few people listened to them. But if you read the news blast, it was clearly mentioned when the buses were running. It could have been made a bit clearer where to find the buses, but again I had no difficulty. Free bus transportation was a nice touch. Registration was held at the Inna Grand Bali hotel which is a five star hotel complex that served as the venue for interhash. Registration was in an annex building close to the main lobby. I registered

A
new event that has cropped up in recent years on the hash calendar is the Cambodia Nash Hash. Although only in existence for five years, the event has grown in popularity. The most recent one, in fact, was sold out. Held in the seaside town of Sihanoukville , those of us who attended experienced an extremely well organized event.
