Editor’s Notes Hello Hashers, The month of May is full of celebrations around the world. From Lei Day in Hawaii to Golden Week in Japan, people are ready to dance and prance around the Maypole, or kick back with a frosty Corona or five on Cinco de Mayo. Socialist drinking is definitely okay in May for the united workers of the world. Lesser known May events include Tourette Syndrome Awareness Month and National Masturbation Day…I don’t make this stuff up. If you are in Europe it’s time to change your snow shoes for runners, and head out to Dutch Nash Hash in Austerlitz, or Berlin for German Nash Hash. There’s Killer Hill Weekend in Norway as a warm up for InterScandi in Galway. Ireland the first week of June. Read all about InterScandi 2015 in Yark Sucker’s expose’ on Viking indulgence run amuck. Cambodia Nash Hash is coming up this month, including a Pre-Lube in Sihanoukville, the Kingdom’s premier beach resort town. Check out the Snooky feature in this edition. If Tokyo is on your bucket list, Hazukashii’s coverage of hashing in the world’s largest city is a must read. If you weren’t in the Philippines in March you can still read all about PI Nash Hash 2015 Revisited as well as a report on the recent Aussie Nash Hash. San Diego Red Dress

The Magical Mystery Tour by Shoeless Ho

T

hese days almost every city with a moderately sized population of hashers has an annual Red Dress Run. It’s one of our most visible annual events and it all started here in San Diego in 1988. We’re gearing up again for another one in June. The theme this year, is Magical Mystery Tour and the magic happens June 13th.

Although the main event is Saturday, San Diego Area hashes have created a long weekend around the event. Festivities kick off Wednesdays with a Red Dress Run in the wine country of Temecula. Thursday is the Blackshirt Hash, with a heavy metal theme to the trail and a concert at the on-in. Friday is the incredibly popular Pretty in Pink hash, and then Saturday is RDR. Sunday brings a choice of two hangover runs, one in Tijuana with the TJ hash and one in San Diego with the Humpin Hash.

Did you know that Dublin, the capital and largest city of Ireland, started as a Viking settlement! For hashers, that is not for what Ireland is known. Instead, Ireland is infamous for March 17, the yearly drinking orgy known as “St Paddy’s”, and on that day in Dublin and elsewhere in the world, many rejoice in hash events, wearing green gear and drinking volumes of greenish coloured beer with for the sole aim of ending the night in some form of Irish Yoga! Join Interscandi-2015 for the Vikings Raid of Galway, a city on the Atlantic Coast of Ireland! It will be a lucky charm, for this is Interscandi No. 13. Galway is located far from Dublin. Therefore, be prepared for exploring the real Ireland, superb scenery with rugged mountains. Imagine the possibility of beautiful trails filled with swamp-like shiggy. Shiggy socks are a must on one’s packing list. Take a tour through the historic medieval town of Galway, the capital of the Western Ireland. Experience the vibrant pub culture, walk the charming cobble stoned streets, breathe in the intoxicating ocean air and relax on the green grass of Eyre Square.

big thank you to each and every one of the 240 hashers that attended the Pan Philippines Nash Hash in Angeles City last month. Among you were Americans, Brits, Aussies, Europeans and Asians, many of whom had travelled very long distances to be with us. Despite the high temperatures you managed to scale the

he World Atlas lists Tokyo as the largest city in the world at over 37 million people. In a city of this size, it is not hard to imagine a robust hashing community, with an amazing countryside with extensive trails to make any hasher happy. There are currently 5 weekly hash clubs (Monday = Tokyo Men’s Hash; Wednesday = Tokyo Ladies H3; Friday = Finally Friday Fukov H3; Saturday = Samurai H3; Sunday = Sumo H3) running in and around Tokyo. The Tokyo H3 is the oldest hash in Japan, and was founded on 14 June 1976 by Patrick ‘Dunafew’ Donoghue, who brought the sport over from Hong Kong. While still bearing the name, the Tokyo Men’s H3 is now a mixed club and runs on Monday evenings, and is celebrating their 2000th Hash with a weeklong hashstravaganza between 1-6 May 2015.
