Then the business fair is a great opportunity to orient yourself on the possibilities. It is a fun, educational and above all interesting day.

During the HAS business fair you will meet many companies in the agro, food and environment sectors. This is a unique opportunity for you to meet these professionals in your field. Get a good idea of your career options and get your bearings on the company you would like to work for. You will find them all in this magazine and of course in 1931 Congrescentrum on December 19!

Olympic champion Mark Tuitert! (NL)

Mark Tuitert is an enthusiastic and sympathetic ice skater who will give an energetic presentation/ lecture at the company market. He tells about his experiences in speed skating linked to themes such as ‘the art of peaking’ and ‘how to get the best out of yourself’. He speaks passionately about ‘dreams’ and ‘becoming stronger through setbacks’. He also speaks motivatingly about (daring to) make choices, personal leadership, uncertainty, successful cooperation and personal responsibility.

In addition, he is the author of his own book Drive: train your stoic mindset in which he gives tools to give direction to your life, dare to take action, accept what you have no influence over.

In short, there will be a lot of topics that we as students are concerned with a lot. Make sure you are there!

After visiting the various stands, you will have the opportunity to broaden your network. At 15.00 Mark Tuitert, Olympic champion ice skater, will start with an inspiring speech. After that the networking drinks will start. The perfect place to end the day with a snack and a drink. And of course it is free, so come!

Toen Mark in 2010 olympisch goud won op de 1.500 meter schaatsen dacht hij niet aan winnen, maar aan Epictetus en Seneca. Al 20 jaar gebruikt hij de principes van stoïcijnse filosofen om het hoofd te bieden aan de immense druk van topsport en de grote uitdagingen in zijn privéleven. Voor DRIVE ontwikkelde hij 10 praktische lessen waarmee iedereen, voor elke situatie, een stoïcijnse mindset kan trainen.

Business fair k.s.v. Gremio Unio

This business fair once started, on a much smaller scale, as the job fair, organized by k.s.v. Gremio Unio. Our association found it of great importance that students came in contact with companies for internships and jobs. However, it is also important that companies see what HAS green academy is all about and that students enjoy their time as students here.

As mentioned above, k.s.v. Gremio Unio is the founder of the business fair. This association with over 700 members is the student association of the HAS green academy and also the largest student association of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Besides having a lot of fun, k.s.v. Gremio Unio offers its members the opportunity to organize and participate in many activities. Members can also join one of the many committees of Gremio Unio. This gives our members the opportunity to develop themselves in many areas and therefore a head start on the job market

Networking

Your student time is the ideal time to expand your contacts in the professional field, both via teachers, fellow students, scholarships, assignments, internships and many other ways. Student life is often quite similar to the business world. During your

internships and graduation project you are after all employed by a company and you often feel more like an employee than a student. A good thing since the work field and the prevailing atmosphere should be familiar to you so that after your studies you can move on smoothly in the business world.

Hoe ziet jou functie als Praktisch Veredelaar eruit?

Als Praktisch Veredelaar ben je samen met het team van veredelaars verantwoordelijk voor de ontwikkeling van de volgende generatie succesvolle rassen. Onder begeleiding van de veredelaars werk je aan nieuwe rassen, plantconcepten, zaadproductie en ziekteresistenties. Je maakt daarbij onder andere gebruik van moleculaire merkers. Daarnaast voer je allerlei veredelingstaken uit zoals het beoordelen en administreren van de verschillende selectie- en rassenproeven in zowel binnen- als buitenland. Daarbij maak je internationale reizen om deze proeven te beoordelen. Je houd je tevens bezig met het maken van kruisingen en het controleren van zaadteelt. Verder ondersteun je het team bij het uitdenken en toepassen van creatieve oplossingen. Je werk bevindt zich afwisselend in de kas, op het veld en op kantoor.

Wat jij meebrengt:

• Aantoonbaar HBO werk- en denkniveau en een afgeronde opleiding in bijvoorbeeld Toegepaste Biologie, Plantenveredeling, en Tuin en Akkerbouw

• Een groene praktische achtergrond

• Affiniteit met planten en praktische toepassing van veredeling in de kas, veredelingsdatabases en merkertechnologie.

Verder ben je initiatiefrijk, creatief, flexibel en oplossingsgericht. Je geeft niet snel op en bent een echte teamspeler die bijspringt waar dat nodig is. Daarnaast werk je nauwkeurig en gestructureerd en heb je uitstekende communicatieve en administratieve vaardigheden. Goede beheersing van de Nederlandse en Engelse taal is vereist gezien het internationale karakter van de functie.

Wat kun je van ons verwachten?

Naast een goed salaris ontvang je een reiskostenvergoeding, een jaarlijkse vakantietoeslag van één bruto maandsalaris en een bonus volgend uit het ‘Rijk Zwaan Growth plan’. Al onze medewerkers vallen onder de CAO voor tuinzaadbedrijven. Op sommige punten hebben we de CAO uitgebreid. Heb je specifieke vragen over onze arbeidsvoorwaarden? Omgevingsdienst Zuidoost Brabant

Samen zorgen voor balans tussen ondernemen en een veilige en gezonde leefomgeving. Dat is het doel van de Omgevingsdienst Zuidoost-Brabant.

Er zijn verschillende wetten en regels die het milieu en onze leefomgeving moeten beschermen. Denk hierbij aan expertises als energie, duurzaamheid, luchtkwaliteit, bodemkwaliteit en geluidsoverlast, maar ook aan het gebruik en vervoer van gevaarlijke stoffen. De ODZOB controleert of bedrijven in Zuidoost-Brabant zich aan deze regels houden – in opdracht van de gemeente of provincie.

Dagelijks voeren zo’n 240 ODZOB-medewerkers taken uit om dit doel te realiseren. Het gaat om taken op het gebied van vergunningverlening, toezicht en handhaving (VTH). Ook expertises die verwant zijn aan deze VTH-taken voert ODZOB uit indien provincie of gemeente(n) daarom verzoeken. De ODZOB is een jonge, ambitieuze organisatie die voortdurend in ontwikkeling is.

DE CULTUUR VAN TAUW IS VERGELIJKBAAR MET DIE VAN DE HAS

Binnen TAUW heb je niet het idee dat er mensen zijn die je niet kunt benaderen. Je praat gewoon met iedereen en iedereen praat met jou.”

Dit zijn de woorden van oud studenten Juriaan Luijkx en Tigo Dijkstra. Na hun studie milieukunde bij de HAS hebben zij er voor gekozen om aan de slag te gaan bij TAUW. In dit interview vertellen zij meer over hun werk bij TAUW.

JURIAAN LUIJKX

Juriaan is gestart als Trainee en heeft binnen het Traineeship gewerkt in drie verschillende teams. Momenteel maakt hij deel uit van het team Watertechnologie en daarnaast draagt hij bij aan projecten voor het team Geluid en Trillingen. Juriaan is bezig met waterzuiveringen en afvalwater. Dit doet hij onder andere op procestechnologisch en vergunning technisch vlak. Zo is hij betrokken bij de ontwikkeling van de zuiveringsinstallaties om te voldoen aan de effluenteisen, maar ook aan de capaciteit van de zuiveringsinstallatie wanneer de influent wijzigt. Hierin is het zijn ambitie om zijn steentje bij te dragen aan zo schoon mogelijk water.

TIGO DIJKSTRA

Tigo zet de brede aspecten van de opleiding voort binnen TAUW, hij werkt binnen het team Vergunningen. Hier houdt hij zich voornamelijk bezig met vergunningaanvragen en ondersteunt hij bedrijven op het hele milieudossier. Een voorbeeld van Tigo’s werkzaamheden is het proces van een bedrijf toetsen aan het BREF-document. Hierin doorloopt hij de processen binnen een organisatie over het gebruik van milieuvriendelijke technieken en geeft zijn advies. Tigo’s ambitie is om bij grote industriële klanten milieubewustzijn te creëren. “Het leukste vind ik dat wanneer ik een vergunning heb aangevraagd, het project ook echt gerealiseerd wordt en je het resultaat kunt zien”. Tigo en Juriaan werken allebei al een aantal jaren bij TAUW, maar wat maakt het voor hen zo leuk om bij TAUW te werken? Juriaan vertelt: “Ik vind het vooral fijn dat je binnen TAUW je eigen pad kunt bepalen.” Zo is het mogelijk om te werken voor twee verschillende teams. Dat maakt het werk nog leuker. Als tip wil Tigo meegeven dat je juist gebruik moet maken van hoe breed de opleiding milieukunde is, dit geeft je de mogelijkheid om in verschillende vakgebieden aan de slag te gaan en je eigen loopbaan te bepalen. 2. Start somewhere

If you don’t know who you are and what you want, just start somewhere. Take a job that may not be your dream job and see where it takes you. Perhaps you will be pleased with it or you will soon find out what you do like.

3. Seek out like-minded people

Getting together with peers to discuss choices in the area of work, study and relationships is useful. Meetings like this create a bond. Everyone runs into the same problems and by talking about them you learn from each other.

4. Accept that you do not know all the

consequences

One of the main psychological mechanisms that make it difficult to make a choice with many possibilities is regret. It turns out that regret occurs not only afterwards, but also during the choice itself. And that makes the choice even more complicated.

Accept that you don’t know what the consequences of your choices will be. You won’t know if you’ve made a wrong choice until you start doing something. The best businesspeople have often tried all sorts of things and have often failed before they were once in place and successful.

5. Listen to your body

You can rationalize your choices all to pieces. But don’t forget that your body also gives off - often very clear - signals. Some people get stomach aches or weeks of headaches from stress, others get laryngitis again and again.

So if you know what your stress points are, you can let them guide your choices.

6. Gather honest people around you

Friends and family can play an important role in making the (right) choices. Gather people around you who dare to tell you the truth. They can have a signal function. If you are someone who values equality and your friend says to you: “how you treat your colleagues now, that’s not how I know you” then you can ask yourself if you are in the right place.

Marketing & sales coördinator voor de professionele markt (32

- 36 uur per week)

Je maakt deel uit van het energieke en klantgerichte team binnen de professionele markt. In deze functie ondersteun je, samen met een collega marketing & sales coördinator, de sales director en de accountmanagers.

Functieomschrijving

• Op strategisch niveau fungeren als sparringpartner voor de sales director en het accountteam

• Initiëren en uitwerken van ideeën om processen te verbeteren en sales te laten groeien

• Organiseren en voorbereiden van beurzen, events en webinars

• Agenderen, voorbereiden en verslaglegging van vergaderingen en bewaking van de opvolging

• Schrijven, redigeren en opmaken van nieuwsbrieven, flyers en advertenties

• Opstellen van briefings en schakelen met vormgevers

• Administratief vastleggen van proeven en opvolgen richting de accountmanagers

• Ondersteunen van de sales director en accountmanagers bij marketing & sales werkzaamheden

Functie-eisen

• Hbo werk- en denkniveau

• Ervaring in een vergelijkbare ondersteunende functie

• Je hebt affiniteit met de tuinbouw- en hovenierssector

• Uitstekende beheersing van de Nederlandse taal in woord en geschrift
