Preface Student Study Day 2023 The 2023 Student Study Day will take place on Friday 10 November at HAS green academy in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The theme for this year’s event is: Our green career! In order to shape your future career, you obviously need to know where you can go for your internship, what minors are available and where you want to work or study after graduating. On de study day we will provide you with all the information you need to help you make the right choices.

HAS minors Are you thinking about taking a minor at HAS, but not sure yet what the options are? Walk around at the inspiration plaza and get to know about the HAS minors. Our minors connect to current issues within our sector. Find the minor that suits your interests and ambitions. Would you rather study abroad temporarily? Come to the information session and we’ll tell you all about it. This is the only chance to learn more about exchange options!

Meet & greet with fourth-year students How will you complete your minors & internships? And what is involved in organizing them? Get in touch with experts (fourth-year students) who are keen to share their internship experience and tell you about minors abroad.

Business fair Over 70 companies from the agro, food and living environment sectors are coming to HAS green academy to meet you. Grab this opportunity to expand your network. Maybe you can even take the first step in your career by finding an internship, graduation project or job.

VSBfonds will also be present. Every year, the VSBfonds provides several scholarships worth € 10,000 to HAS students who choose to take a master’s degree abroad.

Farming with Nature Are you ready to tackle the growing challenge to bring farmers and the different regional parties together and shape a landscape where agriculture and nature are in balance? Then this 20-week minor ‘Farming with Nature’ is perfect for you. Protein Transition: Towards a Sustainable Future If you want to contribute to the protein transition, this minor is for you. The minor focuses on the transition towards plant and alternative proteins in the context of the entire value chain: from soil to consumer.

Applied Animal Science

During the minor ‘Applied Animal Sciences’ students will be trained to apply findings from experimental results to the effects of environmental factors (housing, nutrition, legislation, exploitation, etc.) on animal health and welfare. In dit interview deelt Saar haar veranderde kijk op recruitment, vanuit haar studententijd naar haar huidige rol als recruiter. “Ik wilde mijn werk bij Kloosterbrouwerij Steyl niet opgeven en zocht een manier om dit te combineren. Toen kreeg ik de kans om bij Green People Recruitment te werken, wat mijn interesse wekte vanwege de verbinding met de voedingssector. Dit bood de mogelijkheid om nieuwe bedrijven en functies te ontdekken.”

Kun je iets over jezelf vertellen? “Ik ben Saar, 25 jaar oud en in juni 2023 afgestudeerd aan de HAS Green Academy in Venlo in Food Innovation. Sindsdien werk ik als Recruiter Food bij Green People Recruitment en werk ik samen met mijn vader aan het opzetten van Kloosterbrouwerij Steyl, onze eigen bierbrouwerij.” Waarom de overstap van student naar recruiter bij Green People Recruitment?

Wat zijn de uitdagingen voor recent afgestudeerden bij het zoeken naar hun eerste baan? “Werkgevers prefereren vaak kandidaten met werkervaring, wat het moeilijk maakt voor pas afgestudeerden om hun eerste baan te vinden. Daarnaast is de arbeidsmarkt zeer competitief, met veel afgestudeerden die concurreren voor dezelfde kansen.” Hoe heb je recruitmentbureaus ervaren toen je als student werk zocht? “Vaak ontving ik automatische en onpersoonlijke berichten in mijn inbox, waardoor ik dacht dat het spam was.

Het was ook moeilijk om werk te zoeken tijdens mijn studie en afstudeerperiode, dus had ik geen tijd om hier veel aandacht aan te besteden.” Hoe is je kijk op recruitment veranderd sinds je als recruiter bent gaan werken? “Nu ik als recruiter in de voedingsindustrie werk, zie ik duidelijker het waardevolle werk van wervings- en selectiebureaus. Ze bieden expertise en connecties die helpen bij het vinden van banen in deze sector.” Hoe sluit Green People Recruitment aan bij de opleidingen en wensen van HASstudenten? “Green People Recruitment richt zich op het werven van HBO- en WO-kandidaten voor functies bij toonaangevende agroen foodbedrijven, wat HAS-studenten en alumni kan helpen bij het vinden van nieuwe carrièrekansen.
