INTRODUCTION
As part of our site visit to Wadi Sabbara and upon our meeting with the managerial staff of Oasis we have identified a number of design problems currently being faced. These problems are outlined in the Wadi Sabbara June visit report already submitted to the client. The interventions are meant to improve the hospitality experience in Oasis. They range from smaller building details up to larger landscape interventions and are meant to work together towards the higher aim of redeveloping the hotel to reach its full potential.

Covering Infrastructure
One of the main problems identified on site was the exposed infrastructure elements. The exposure of such elements eats away from the vernacular character of the hotel. We cannot eliminate such elements but we can conceal them in a way that would merge better with the existing structures. The small structures will be built from bricks and plastered in the same color as the building.

Observation Deck #9
Lack of activity areas specially sitting places was of major concern to the team. The area in front of Units 2,3 and 4 where we stayed laid as a waste land though at night A dramatic effect was achieved by lighting. The lighting effect was best observed from the side of the restaurant area. We saw potential in adding a built in seating area with a small kitchenette to serve the visitors. The point is the highest on site and can offer a good spot for viewing the whole of the hotel area with the sea in the background. A series of bearing walls will lead the way to the observation deck on top.
