Within the first two months of 2016 we have added a wellness and fitness centre to the hotel as well as a new bar, art gallery and refurbished our conference room. Throughout the remainder of the year we will be completing a soft refurbishment of our rooms and swimming pool area as well. We also have plans to further enhance the product by offering new ideas in service – but you will have to come and stay to discover what those are...

Michael, or Mike as everybody calls him, was born into the life of tour busses and hotel life. Helping and running the hotel since his school years, this was something he always thought of making his own. Taking over in 2010, the hotel only moved forward. With excellent people skills he employed appropriate help to manage alongside him. With so many different aspects of the business, he is still working at improving a little at a time. What makes him successful is his ability to be adventurous and ambitious, but still patient at the same time. What is your current biggest challenge competing on a global scale in a highly competitive industry? The fact that we live and function in a more rural area of the word and although possible, different aspects (like water quality) makes it difficult. How will Haute Grandeur Global Hotel Awards compliment your brand as a unique and transparent Global Awards initiative offering an elegant Award concept? It will emphasise on the fact that although we are not in a big city, we can still be taken into account. That not only the Lodge, but also our surroundings have potential beyond what the city life can offer.

Keep on adapting and improving. Listening to our clients and changing accordingly. A lodge is not just an overnight stay, for some it is home for a while.
