JOHN DALY John Daly brings 14 years of solid financial experience in Huntington and Newport Beach to the table for his clients. After the housing crash of 2008, he partnered with a friend and created Immensity Group (iG) in Newport Beach, California. In addition, we have private money for investment type properties.” John makes sure to engage in an active outreach campaign to stay in touch with people. “One of the things I do with my clients is create a plan going forward, so after our initial transaction, I check in with them as a follow-up,” he states. “We discuss goals, maybe plans to invest. There’s always a reason to check in.’ What’s most rewarding to John about his work is seeing his clients close their deals. “I’ve had clients sit here literally crying,” he notes. “They really couldn’t believe they could buy a house or qualify for a loan. It’s very fulfilling to see them realize their dreams.” When giving back to his community, John donates his time and resources to rescue dogs and the local Humane Society. On his off time, John loves spending time at the beach, surfing. He also enjoys riding his bike and exercising in general. “The usual California lifestyle,” he says. As for the future, he hopes to expand his banking opportunities, hire more loan agents, and branch out into other states. “It’s all about helping more people achieve their dreams of home ownership,” he says.

Own a Piece of History! This wonderful historical duplex from the famous Brick Row was ordered in 1887 by Frank Kimball, the founding father of what today is National City, Chula Vista and Bonita. Its architectural style is that of the Philadelphia row house from that era. Although initially believed to have been designed by a Philadelphia architect, later studies proved that it was actually executed by R.C. Ball from San Diego. It consisted of ten identical units constructed to house the California Southern railroad executives. Built using bricks from the Kimball brick factory and with a total cost of $22,000, it is one of the very few examples of this type of architecture on the West Coast. In the 1980s the Community Development Commission of the City of National City closed one end of the street and moved in the other City’s most emblematic historical buildings (The Frank A.Kimball House of 1868-69, The Rice-Proctor House from 1887 and the Elizur Steele, Crandall-Ennis House of 1879) to the opposite side of the street from Brick Row, setting up what today is known as Heritage Square. The property for sale is right in the center of the Row, with the best view of the whole square. The interior of each original unit had a stairway and balusters of white oak with a curving handrail. Wooden floors, wood trim around doors and windows, molded plasterwork around light fixtures, picture rails and cast iron fireplaces and tall glass windows used to maximize the amount of natural light in the times before electricity was a commodity. Each unit was composed of a formal dining room, a kitchen, a parlor, a butler’s pantry and four bedrooms upstairs, with a total of 1900 square feet. One of the early residents of Brick Row around 1889, was the famous Wyatt Earp!. He stayed in National City when he was involved in prize fights and gambling in Tijuana. The property currently for sale was transformed from the original layout and split into two units that stand today, one upstairs with 3 bedrooms, 1bath, a kitchen and a terrace with an external staircase to the back patio, and another unit downstairs with kitchen, bathroom, a living/dining room and an office or bedroom. Both units share the back patio. The passage of time shows in the units, however historians point out that it keeps a lot of the original elements on the floors, wood trims and molded plasterwork. The zoning allows both residential and commercial use, so the amount of possibilities to give them its best and highest value is endless. As the units are in the National Registry of Historic Places, they benefit from substantial Mills Act property tax reductions. They are subject to a covenant of preserving the architectural style and integrity of the properties.
