Heritage Christian School Strategic Plan 2012-2017

Heritage Christian School continues to pursue Christ-centered excellence as it grows to serve a greater number of families in the Corridor area. The direction of the school is greatly influenced by this Strategic Plan that was put into place in 2012 by the Heritage Christian School Board of Directors. The Heritage Mission Statement, Vision Statement and Core Values are in the forefront of strategic planning. This comprehensive plan includes five themes:

2. The Priority of Parenting Mission Statement At Heritage Christian School, located in North Liberty, Iowa, we are committed to providing a Christ-centered, academically challenging education, which reinforces each parent’s responsibility to raise children who love and serve Jesus Christ.

Education Educational Goals: • Establish a distinguished Christcentered focused learning environment.

Metrics:

• Offer extra-curricular and co-curricular activities based on interest and demand.

• Meet or exceed average performance level of 80% (National Student Score) on all areas tested through Iowa Assessments.

• Develop an undeniably superior academic program balanced with co-curricular programs.

• Expand co-curricular course offerings to include foreign language.

• Provide age appropriate technological tools to all classrooms in an acceptable tool: student ratio.

• Equip teaching faculty with technological hardware necessary for quality, advance instruction.

• Implement school management software with library management and grade book capabilities. • Establish professional relationships with local high schools with the objective of obtaining feedback on Heritage student performance in 1st and 2nd year. • Standardize communication related to classroom work and activities.

• Identify a high quality entrance testing program and implement.

• Meet or exceed determined benchmark for ACT Explore exam taken by 8th grade.

• Positive, qualitative feedback from area high school teachers on students transition, behavior, and academic performance in the 1st and 2nd year of high school. • Meet written curriculum goals in accordance with the approved Curriculum Review Cycle.

Strategies: • Create an effective annual marketing strategy that sets forth the means by which the school advertises. • Create a comprehensive communication plan that keeps families informed and engaged with what is happening at Heritage.

• Working the Finance Committee Chair, create a financial policy to retain current students from Pre-K to Kindergarten and from Kindergarten to 1st Grade.

• Identify tactics designed to recruit students from local preschool programs.

• Conduct exit interviews for those graduating and/or leaving Heritage

• Meet and exceed annual enrollment projections.

• Operating 2 sections of pre- k through 3rd grade by 2016. • Quantify the results of marketing strategies.
