Sam Shendi graduated in 1997 from Helwen University of Fine Arts in Cairo. The Egyptian born sculptor creates colourful abstractions of the human figure, subtly hinting at the complexity of human interactions Referencing the art of minimalism, interactions. minimalism Shendi simplifies design elements by focusing in on the chosen medium of steel, aluminium and paint. Some of these forms seem deceptively simple, but often include qualities of metaphor or elements of a spiritual transcendence. Shendi’s work balances the fine line between representation and abstraction.
