having an emergency plan in place and having an emergency supply kit assembled. Emergency Supply Kit - Assemble a three day supply of water and non-perishable food (one gallon of water per person, per day), a battery or crank powered radio and a first aid kit. Other items may include flashlights, batteries, phone chargers, extra contact lenses or glasses, extra supply of prescriptions and special items for babies, elderly and disabled. Make a Plan - Take steps to prepare your family for an emergency by establishing meeting places, designating emergency contacts and recording medical information. Don’t forget to plan for your pets too! Stay Informed - Make sure you have the most up-to-date information on winter storm watches, warnings and road conditions.
