Happy Grandparents Day SEPTEMBER 12, 2021 Every now and then our staff at the Hays Free Press and News-Dispatch does a callout on social meda for story ideas or photos that are of community interest. Recognizing that Sept. 12 is Grandparents Day, our reporter Sahar Chmais asked Hays County readers to share

a photo of their grandparents or their grandkids. The response was overwhelming. It was our intention to run one of these photos with a reminder that Grandparents Day is coming up. But we had to decide which one was the best ... or did we? One thing all these photos
had in common was a look of happiness and pride, and they were all such good photos that we decided to include them all here in this digital edition celebrating Grandparents Day. We didn’t identify each photo, but if you peruse through the whole edition,
you’re likely to see some people you know, including yourself if you submitted one. We collected all of the photos as of Friday afternoon. We apologize if your photo was inadvertantly left out or if it was uploaded after that time.
