Hays County holiday closures

Hays County offices will be closed Wednesday-Friday, Dec. 25-27, for the Christmas holiday, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, for New Year’s Day. The city of San Marcos Municipal Court, located at the County Government Center in San Marcos, will also be closed the same days. All county parks will be closed only on Christmas Day, Dec. 25. All county clerk office

locations will be closed on Dec. 30. All county clerk substations – Dripping Springs, Kyle and Wimberley – will be closed from Dec. 23, 2019 through Jan. 1. The main clerk’s Office in San Marcos will close at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays during December instead of 6 p.m. All clerk’s offices will resume their regular hours on Jan. 2.

The film series concludes on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 7:30 p.m. with “Mamma Mia!” Hot chocolate and popcorn will be available at each showing, as will beer and wine. All showings are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult and everyone must have their own seat. Wimberley Players to screen holiday film series The EmilyAnn The Wimberley Players are Theater Trail of hosting a holiday film festival. “The Muppets Christmas Lights Carol” will screen at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21.; then on Sunday, Dec. 22 at 2:30 p.m. the feature will be a sing-a-long version of White Christmas. Words appear on the screen making it easy for audience member to participate.

Explore eight acres of lighted displays decorated by more than 100 local businesses, community groups and fam ilies officially opened on. The Trail will remain open through Dec. 30. Santa will visit the Trail of

Lights on Friday and Saturdays plus nightly from now through 23 from 6 to 8 p.m., often with a Disney princess – either Anna, Elsa, Belle, Cinderella, Moana, Rapunzel or Show White – on hand. The last few days for the Trail of Lights to be open will be Dec. 20-22. Trail of Lights is a free holiday event held at Historic Stagecoach Park that features lighted and decorated displays provided by local businesses and organizations.
