LETTER FROM
The Multi-Hyphenate Mogul:
KEITH MASON’S RISE TO SUCCESS IN HOLLYWOOD AND BEYOND
Interview by Hazel Herrington
HH: What motivated you to become an actor and producer?
I was originally a professional rugby league player, playing at the highest level in England and Australia, I met Mickey Rourke in a chance meeting in London after playing in the 2009 challenge cup final at Wembley, we became friends and he casted me in my first ever movie, Skin Traffik, I played Mr. Stinier.
HH: What are some of the challenges you face in your work?
Every day we face challenges in all walks of life and work, it’s who handles the pressure the best tends to get a lot further in life.
6 7 www herringtonpublications com www herringtonpublications com
HH: Wh future o I want to my nam they wil importa good fa also gro which is partner comic b league h future will all come to fruition through the grace of God.
HH: What advice would you give to aspiring actors and producers?
Persevere longer than rest, in this game it’s who’s got the staying power and perseverance when you’re not getting an acting job, or you’ve been out of work for years, doesn’t matter, don't give up, and Rise up.
HH: How do you manage your work and personal life balance?
I’m a single father to 2 children Lukas and Kalani, they are the reason why I work my ass off every day to become a better man and father for them, being a father is my no1 priority everything else comes second.
HH: How did you become involved in philanthropy and humanitarian work?
“We stop helping ourselves when we stop helping others, I’ve always been the type of person that would give my jacket off my back to a stranger! I truly believe where we can help each other rise in this life.
I'm the Brahs ambassador for the Tafida Raqeeb Foundation, we want to raise enough for the 2nd only hospital in the UK to open a facility for children with brain injuries.

HH: How did you become involved in philanthropy and humanitarian work?
HH: What was the inspiration behind creating the 1st rugby comic Rugby blood
“We stop helping ourselves when we stop helping others, I’ve always been the type of person that would give my jacket off my back to a stranger! I truly believe where we can help each other rise in this life. I'm the Brahs ambassador for the Tafida Raqeeb Foundation, we want to raise enough for the 2nd only hospital in the UK to open a facility for children with brain injuries.
HH: What are your thoughts on the current state of the film industry?
I would call Rugby blood what Sly Stallone would call his Rocky! Rugby blood was originally a film script which I co-wrote about a Rugby league star called David King, whose family got kidnapped for ransom, so he has to use all his skills to save them. I adapted the story into a comic book, where the character is actually based on my childhood and the struggles I had to overcome to be a star player. It’s a very inspiring story which I believe helps people, physically, spiritually and mentally.
Nowadays we don’t all have to go to Hollywood to become an actor. I was living in Halifax, West Yorkshire and I produced my own film called Imperative. I play lead detective Dci Jack Sullivan, chasing down a serial killer whilst fighting his own demons, releasing early 2023! So yes you can become a star wherever you are.
HH: What advice would you give asking actors and entrepreneurs
As an actor and entrepreneur it’s all about Trial and error and a hell of a lot of rejection, you got to persevere longer than rest and be used to failure, it took me nearly 10 years to land my first lead role and produce my first film imperative, and in between them years it’s been a grind.
7
10 11 www.herringtonpublications.com www.herringtonpublications.com
It's the same as being an entrepreneur, just don’t give up on your dream when life gets hard.
HH: What strategies do you recommend for creating sustainable success in today's economy?
As I said before, I myself am a big supporter of global economic cooperation and further integration, not protectionism and isolationism. We see that inflation, for example, is becoming a growing global problem and that the world is sliding towards recession.
HH: What are the biggest lessons you’ve learned being an entrepreneur? Believe in your vision no matter what, even if people doubt you, I was told I’d never make my Rugby blood comic book series happen,
I’ve now got 2 comic books and the Keith mason rugby blood sports wear with Oneills which launches this Christmas. Believe in yourself and your product. What do you think are the biggest mistakes entrepreneurs make? I believe you have to create something original and not a copy of something else, you have to have something unique that consumers are interested in.

How to create work-life
BALANCE AS AN ENTREPRENEUR
As businessmen, we are constantly striving for success. We want to be the best in our field, and we are willing to put in the work to get there. However, it is important to remember that there is more to life than work. In order to be truly successful, we need to create a balance between our work and our home lives. Here are 10 reasons why it is important to not neglect our families, our health, and our personal lives as we strive for business success:
3. It is important to have boundaries between work and home. If we're always working, we will never be able to fully relax and enjoy our personal lives.
4. Our businesses will not run themselves. In order to be successful, we need to delegate tasks and give others the opportunity to step up and lead.
8. When we ignore our personal lives, it can lead to problems in our relationships with friends and family members. These relationships are important, and they deserve our time and attention.
1. Our families are the ones who have supported us from the beginning. They have been there for us through thick and thin, and they deserve our time and attention.
2. If we don't take care of our health, we will not be able to maintain our success in the long run. We need to make sure that we are eating right, exercising, and getting enough rest.
5. We need to remember what our priorities are. Work is important, but it should not be the only thing that we focus on in life.
9. We cannot pour from an empty cup. In order to be successful businessmen, we need to take care of ourselves first and foremost.
6. Working all the time can lead to burnout, which will damage both our business and our personal lives.
7. It is important to take some time for ourselves every once in a while. We need to recharge our batteries so that we can come back to work refreshed and ready to tackle whatever comes our way.
10.Our businesses will benefit when we create a balanced lifestyle for ourselves . We will be happier , healthier ,and more productive when we take the time to invest in all aspects of our lives.

The Power of Giving Back:
WHAT
WE CAN
LEARN FROM HOLLYWOOD ACTOR CHARLIE SHEEN
As an entrepreneur, you have the power to make a difference in the world. And while there are many ways to do that, charity work and donating money are two of the most impactful.
BBy giving back, you not only help those in need but also set an example for other businessmen and women. In a world where success is often measured by wealth, you have the opportunity to show that it’s possible to be both successful and charitable. And in today’s climate, that’s more important than ever. In my interview with Charlie Sheen at the Mega Success conference held by JT Foxx, we talked about how charities need our help now more than ever and what we can learn from Sheen’s philanthropy.
26 27 www.herringtonpublications.com www.herringtonpublications.com
Charlie Sheen has a long history of giving back to charities and donating money. He’s contributed to charities such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Red Cross, Habitat For Humanity, The Children’s Defense Fund, Toys For Tots, The Creative Coalition and many more.
His donations have helped these charities make an impact in their respective fields. More importantly, his example of generosity serves as motivation for other entrepreneurs to do the same. Sheen believes that everyone should give back whenever they are able to do so;

Interview by Hazel Herringt
HH: How did you start your career?
I started my career in Database management in 1997. I pursued my education in computer sciences and did my Master degree by 2001.
My IT skills got me Australian Residence in 2005 and I moved to Australia. From 2006 onwards I performed different roles in IT, Security and Database management till 2011 when I was placed as an emergency Manager for one of the largest banks in Australia.
I continue to excel using my problem solving skills and was known to the broader Financial Industry on enhancing Emergency response management systems.
global problem Communication in Emergencies and Disasters' ' .
I founded Evacovation and by 2019 I left NAB to work with full commitment to fulfill the purpose of using technology to “Save lives”.
Currently I am the Founder of Evacuation and board member of a few other businesses.
I am also working in the health sector to develop emergency management frameworks.
1232 33 www herringtonpublications com www.herringtonpublications.com
HH: Tell us something about your business?
Evacovation is quite a unique emergency management solution which encompasses multiple strains of business and community. It’s a hybrid app fully controlled by a comprehensive portal.
The portal provides full visibility to an overarching framework which can be utilized by Governments, Organisations and communities.
Evacovation as a business is a one stop shop for your emergency management needs. It’s completely value driven by saving time and lives when its needed the most. It will become an imperative part of businesses and societies in saving lives.
The thought reignited in my role as an emergency manager and started to research more to bridge the gap. The unfortunate Bourke street incident in Melbourne in 2017, when 6 people lost their lives by irrational driving was a trigger point for me where I realized that building such a solution is my responsibility. It brings my ultimate focus to develop Evacovation.
Saving people in difficult situations is what’s embedded in me and will always be my inspiration to follow to my purpose. As shared in an article by Forbes “Rashid saw the Bourke St Mall tragedy unfold. He decided to do something about it.”
HH: What are your current projects?
HH: Where do you get inspiration for the activity you do?
Even as a kid I went through an incident in 1988 where I saw panic and chaos in an Emergency. I helped school children to reach their homes. As a child I noticed the value of communication in emergencies.
Evacovation is my core business and I committed to make it a global solution in managing emergencies. I am also continuously evolving as an individual with the power of learning new technologies such as Blockchain, IOT and artificial intelligence.
12 35 www herringtonpublications com www.herringtonpublications.com 34
I am integrating these upcoming technologies to futurize the Emergency management domain. Connectedness is another one of my core strengths and I help guide emerging entrepreneurs if and when they need any help. I am also mentoring a few other start-ups from sports to health science space who will be disruptive in their domains and make positive impacts in future.
I am also a member of UNDRR (United Nations Disaster Risk Reduction) and actively speak at Global events about the importance and adaptability of technology for early warning and management of Disasters. What inspires you to the person you want to be?
It would be a very different “Rashid Khan” without the support of my wife who herself is an entrepreneur and inspires me every day with her consistent support.

HH: Share with us your message for the world.
We are living in a world where there are a lot of contributing factors for the high frequency of disasters. Change is inevitable and humans need to adapt or become catalysts of change. Biography on
KEISHAWN BLACKSTONE AND EMPOWERMENT
Growing up in Los Angeles has allowed me to see the world form a different perspective, why? We bring culture to the forefront, i found that I have been immersed in several ethnic cultures from Filipino to Latin, Chinese, Armenian, African American and more just to name a few. When I started my journey as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, filmmaker.
I knew that my talents can unlock doors for many generations to come, it was how I was going to use those talents to push not just myself ahead but my family and the generations to come. Being the youngest of 5 i was blessed, having 3 sisters and a brother has been far most the best blessing i can ask for along with two awesome parents who support my passion and my career. . . .
If I told you I went homeless 3 times growing up would you believe me? If i told you that i was the kid coming home from school to see the struggle of food barely being in the fridge, if i told you i was the kid in the courtroom begging the judge for one more day just so we won't be out on the street would you believe me, well all those things were true, i didnt let it get the best of me. Struggle has shaped me to be the human being that I am today, the entrepreneur that I am. Struggle has allowed me to see past the moment and into the future where I know everything is going to be ok as long as I do the work to make life better for myself and those around me.
12 39 www herringtonpublications com 38 www herringtonpublications com
It didn't take long for me to realize that my mission was bigger than film. I found purpose, the mission was bigger than just myself , from creating my own production company here in los angeles i have found that empowering the next generation was the way to connect to new upcoming artists. Upon becoming a business owner I decided to try to find a way to connect to people from around the world that when I came across the Global Chamber of Business leaders. The mission had gotten bigger, and with that i had to find balance within to take on such a mission in becoming a global figure. I long ago found that my battles and struggles made me who I am today. I believe we all as humans have superpowers which allow us to be who we want to be.
Leadership has always played a big role in my life as to how i am able to help out the world, from innerstanding self to understanding those around me the amount of passion i have as a film director for telling stories that inspire and promote change has all came from leadership.it's not everyday you see a 25 year old taking on being CEO, filmmaker and Senior Advisor for a global civic organization.
I believe men and women in such high authority positions have mentored me to who I am.
12
40 41 www herringtonpublications com www herringtonpublications com
The one philosophy I live by is to have integrity to face self in the mirror no matter how light or dark it gets. This allows you to always stay true to yourself. I’d say if you're on a journey to help the world , you must first help yourself. My journey has been one where once I found the definition of purpose, passion and execution the next was plan. The key components were principles that I've applied everyday till this point of my life. I didn't go to college, I didn't have a hand out, I've always lived with integrity and assured that I always put my best foot forward .
I want to know their stories, find solutions and plant seeds for growth for many around the world while uplifting communities through my voice and my craft as a director. Thats step 1, in step two i want to establish my brand and company globally making Tak3- One Productions a go to hub for creatives and imagineers from all over the world to have a place to call home looking past race sex and style.
So you may be asking so what's to come ? Well in 2023 i plan on doing a lot of traveling and when i say a lot of traveling i mean a lot of traveling, i want to experience and spread the message both through love and light and through the lens to allowing the myself to connect to the world to help bring solutions to those in need, the first step in that process is listening to what the people have to say, we often don't listen to those and hear them our and we make such decisions for the masses and not consider that we are in it together as we are humans.
I plan on launching a new agency where we help low income communities and establish go green resources through tech and integration and lastly i will be speaking on panels as well in between my film breaks throughout 2023, this is how i can talk to the people and hear what they have to say to building unity through community.
I am looking for bigger support to make this mission possible but I know everyday is a stepping process.
I want people to take away from his read that if you can dream big you can win bigger and that happens when you apply yourself and believe in that fire that we all have deep down inside of us. Yes life gets messy, it gets bumpy and it's going to push you down but you have to remember to get back up, dust yourself off and push forward no matter what the circumstances are. I speak for the next generation of creative and entrepreneurs to take action and make it happen. Everyone is part of this vision and just as you are reading this now I am making a greater tomorrow happen today. Thank you again for taking the time to run into this read.

How to Lead
IN A CHAOTIC WORLD WITH ENRIQUE ACOSTA GONZALEZ
The world has been in a state of chaos for the last three years and the call for true leadership has not been louder or more demanding than today. We find ourselves questioning many things that were steadfast but today seem so fleeting. The expectation of a steady career, a paycheck, an education is not promised today, and it has caused a level of panic and despair like most of us has never seen.
Is it the constant feeling of fear, doubt, and uncertainty? Surely, these three have a lot to do with it but we always have a need for real leadership, even when there is no chaos.
The current workforce landscape has changed drastically with the adaptation of Work from home and the reliance on video communication. The need to feel safe and have a dependable income has driven many decisions of organizations, whether for good or bad. If there is any sure thing, it’s that we need true leadership in a world of chaos. What is it about chaos that sets up an opportunity for people to shine in leadership?
You see chaos brings an element of the unknown that creates panic and influences people to making irrational decisions. Chaos’ aim is to destabilize the mind and heart of people and organizational structures to the point of feeling hopeless and defeated.
When you lead, you must consider these three elements to fight off the effects of chaos in your life and on your organization. Those elements are truth, honesty, and humility and with them you can ensure a more stable environment but without them you are sure to add to the madness.
18 19 2 48 www herringtonpublications com 49 www herringtonpublications com
As a leader you are charged with the responsibility to ease fear, doubt, and uncertainty for your people. If you incorporate the elements of truth, honesty, and humility you will drastically diminish the effects of these three factors.
Let’s break down these elements and how you can employ them in your daily leadership life to maximize your efforts and ensure the survival of your people.
Truth:
Truth is the sword that cuts through the fabric of lies, deception, and evil plans. Are you communicating truthfully with yourself and your people? The sooner you can embrace that truth is all your people want from you, the sooner you can gain their trust. Trust is based on their expectation that you will always be truthful and help them navigate any time of uncertainty.
If you let your people get their communication from anyone else but the source, you are setting them up for failure. It is time that we, as leaders, chose to lead conversations and lead them with truth. At the end of the day, your people require truth so they can make their own decisions concerning their future.
18 19 2 50 51 www herringtonpublications com www herringtonpublications com
Give them truth and in return you will see loyalty and respect like you have never seen. Leaders that use the power of truth see their people flourish and grow right before their eyes. If there is anything your people deserve, its truth from you, their leader.
If they can’t count on that from you, they can’t count on you. At this point, you might as well forget about your position because they will not see you as a leader and you would have lost their trust.
Honesty:
I once worked for a company that asked me to lie about a requested document for a contract where I was the project Manager. The request was to make up an inventory list using a program we said we used but never did use. I immediately refused and quit on the spot because if you can ask me to do that today, what will you ask of me tomorrow? They never considered my morale compass over their financial gain.
In what areas of your life have you not led with truth? How has that translated to your professional life? Are you leading your teams in truth or by sporadic facts?
When leaders decide that truth is the only way to lead, then they will see a change in their team and a strengthening of bonds like never before. Truth sets apart the famous from the infamous and a legacy of service from disservice.
Honesty is the application of truth and I have seen leaders rise and fall by the way they wield honesty in their day-to-day dealings. An honest leader is ready to answer the toughest questions and can steer through the murky waters of doubt. Honesty will allow you to plant your feet firmly and answer the call to action when needed most. When you lead with honesty you diffuse the power of chaos, and you give informed hope.
Your people will have a chance to correctly analyze the collective and individual circumstances and come up with a solution that meets the majority, if not all, of the needs of the group. A true leader would give their people this opportunity and not steal it from them.
Leaders that lead with honesty draw to themselves the admiration of their people. There is nothing like having full faith in your leader and to know that when they speak, you can trust it. Apart from honesty, is a rabbit hole of doubt that can never truly be repaired. You will just be another tolerated positional leader but never seen as the leader.
53 52 www herringtonpublications com
Honesty will give way to great and open dialogue that aims for solutions and not arguments. These conversations are the lifeblood of a thriving organization and set up everyone for success. Only through honesty can you truly gain your peoples truthful input to your team’s challenges.
Humility:
I’ve lived most of my life trying to emulate this proverb “Let another man’s lips praise you and not your own…” (Prov 27:2). As a young man I was under a haughty leader, and he never saw anything wrong with his leadership style. When he retired, no one ever spoke about him, nor was he missed by any of the employees. His legacy died with his departure, and he left no heirs.
Is it because we push so much for being the best that we forget that we can also be the worst? So much is going on, apart of us having to deal with haughty leaders, that fear starts to creep into our organizations.
If you are having a hard time putting truth, honesty, and humility into practice, don’t despair. Here are a few things you can do to start down the right road.
01
Humility is the beacon needed for the dark days of fear. A humble leader knows how to step up and to pull back when its needed. This is the only way for your people to feel protected and expect to shine under your care.
Get a coach. A coach can help you find out and dig into areas that are not allowing you to engage in the elements mentioned.
02
Get a mentor. A Mentor can help you apply the elements into daily opportunities that will benefit you and your team. Seek to find those moments and write down what you saw as a result.
03
I have seen the haughtiest of professionals fall and their demise was not enjoyable to witness. Why is it that leaders have a hard time with humility?
Humility will provide you and those you lead, with a feeling that you are not the center of attraction but the center of emission. You are leading for them, through them, and with them. Your people want to know that given an opportunity, you will not steal their praise or take their credit. Your team members want to know that their future is cared about not only by them, but by you. It takes a true leader to know to give credit and praise to those that earned it.
04
Be intentional: Your intent is where these elements become powerful. When you see a chance to bring truth, honesty, and humility into action, do it.
Ask for feedback: Don’t be afraid of growth but also don’t negate the blessing of knowledge. The more you hear that your efforts are having an impact in you and around you, the more these elements become part of your fabric.
Lead with heart, passion, purpose, and joy and as you progress, make sure to take another with you for the Journey. Leadership is no easy thing but if you take the elements mentioned and activate a good support system you will see the immense impact your leadership will have on your team, community and even world.
The world has been longing for leaders that lead by truth, honesty, and humility. Will you be that leader today? Can we count on you to make your work center and organization a better place to be at? I sure hope so. Wishing you all success as you calm a chaotic world through your leadership.

Economic Empowerment
Narendra (Nk) Sharma
Empowerment has become a term that we hear everyday, but what exactly does economic empowerment mean?
Economic empowerment involves providing people, usually disadvantaged women, with the education, training, and skills that they need to find a job, earn an income, and become self-supporting. Economic independence can change a woman’s life, as they are no longer dependent on someone else, usually a male, to provide their food, a roof over their head or clothing. This empowerment allows the women more agency over their lives and increases their happiness, productiveness, and life satisfaction.
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”
Simply handing out financial aid to marginalized women will not help them out of their situation and can create a dependence on aid. Equipping women with the skills and resources they need to develop their own business results in income generation and a greater standard of living for the women involved.
Women Economic empowerment
Across the world, women shoulder the majority of unpaid household and care work. They are less likely than men to hold paid jobs.

When they do, this is often in low-paid, vulnerable conditions. As a result, many women live in striking poverty. Their lack of economic empowerment is a major barrier to equality, as it prevents women from entering politics, escaping abuse and influencing decisions that impact them.
Because of this unpaid burden, many women simply do not have the option to work outside the home. The current share of the global male population holding a paid job is 71% – compared to 46% of women.

Women’s economic situation today
In almost all countries around the world, women are at a severe economic disadvantage to men. This is even though two thirds of the world’s work is done by women.
When women do enter the labour market, they are often paid less, valued less and left with little protection from discrimination, harassment and abuse. Globally, women on average earn only 6075% of men’s wages. They are less likely to be represented by unions and more likely to hold informal jobs. In old age, women often get lower pension benefits than their male colleagues.
Much of this work is unpaid work at home. On average, women spend 1-3 hours more than men each day on housework. They spend up to 10 times as much time taking care of children and elderly relatives.
Unequal laws and institutions make matters even worse. In some places, for example, women are not allowed to own land or inherit property. As a result, many women across the world are economically dependent on others and live in poverty.

Why women’s economic empowerment is important
Empowering women economically has a direct effect on equality. It increases women’s power and agency, giving them the freedom to decide over their own lives, bodies, and futures.
It also affects women’s political participation and influence in society. When women no longer struggle to meet basic needs, it is easier for them to get involved in civil society, enter politics, and address strategic issues.
Economic empowerment can also make it easier for women to escape gender-based violence. Leaving an abusive relationship is much more complicated for a woman who is economically dependent on her partner. When mothers manage to support themselves, this benefits their children too. Research has shown that when women have greater control over household resources, spending patterns change in ways that benefit children.

Finally, women’s labour market participation can have broad economic advantages. The more women work, the faster economies grow. And when companies have a higher number of women in senior management, organizational effectiveness is shown to increase. Across the world, women shoulder the majority of unpaid household and care work. They are less likely than men to hold paid jobs. When they do, this is often in low-paid, vulnerable conditions. As a result, many women live in striking poverty. Their lack of economic empowerment is a major barrier to equality, as it prevents women from entering politics, escaping abuse, and influencing decisions that impact them.
1. Ensure women are equipped to participate in the economy fully
Women are less likely than men to have formal bank accounts and take out loans. Even when women do have their own accounts, men might still make the decisions about how their funds are used. Women also often lack access to other financial services like savings and insurance due to a lack of financial education. In some countries, women aren’t allowed to open a bank account without a male family member’s permission.
Five Ways Women's Economic Empowerment Can Be Promoted Globally
Here are five ways to promote women’s economic empowerment to build a more sustainable future for all women and girls, their families, and the world.
Resources like credit access and bank accounts can help create economic opportunities for women. Financial literacy programs, reforming laws that allow women to apply for loans without a male relative’s permission, improved gender-disaggregated data, and promoting the development of digital payment systems can all help promote women’s financial inclusion.
2. Enforce policies and social protection systems for women
Women are less likely to have access to social protections like pensions, unemployment benefits, maternity protection, and equal pay. On average, women earn 60% to 75% of what men make, and closing the gender pay gap is crucial to leveling the playing field.
For families that can’t afford to miss work to care for their families, childcare is a gamechanger. Flexible work arrangements benefit workers with children regardless of gender to balance the domestic labor burden more fairly. Providing childcare and paid maternity leave would especially benefit poor women. A 2% investment in childcare in any economy generates 6% growth in the economy.

3. Recognize unpaid labor as work
Unpaid care work includes household duties such as cooking, cleaning, water and fuel collection, childcare, or elder care often carried out by women. It is estimated that 16 billion hours are spent on unpaid care work every day. Unpaid care and domestic work contribute to countries’ economies substantially but aren’t seen as real work.
4. Invest in women’s organizations and businesses
Grassroots women’s organizations and movements are underfunded and under attack around the world. Nearly 70% of women-owned small and medium-sized enterprises in developing countries are financially unserved or underserved.
5. Create decent work for women
The total value of unpaid care and domestic work is estimated to be between 10% and 39% of gross domestic product. Counting unpaid care work in statistics, acknowledging its place in the economy, compensating women for their contributions, and considering unpaid care work when making policy decisions can lessen the burden on women and girls.
Women are also less likely to be entrepreneurs and encounter more obstacles when trying to start a business. Women’s organizations are supporting initiatives to reduce inequality and increase opportunities for their communities but can’t continue to do so without funding. Investing in women’s ventures helps pave the way for the next generation as women tend to spend 80% of their income on their families’ wellbeing and education.
Women are more likely to be employed in the informal labor force and are overrepresented in domestic work in rural areas that lack protections and living wages. Women must receive equal access to education, training, new skills, new technologies, management positions, benefits, and entrepreneurship. Workplaces also need to be free of sexual harassment and violence, safe, up to health standards and promote equal pay. When women have more employment and leadership opportunities, businesses are proven to grow and be more effective.

Leadership In A Chaotic World
TAIWO OLOWU
To say the world is in a chaotic state is stating the very obvious! With all that is going around, governments shirking their responsibilities to the people and pursuing mostly very self-serving agendas, we have seen a rapid rate of desolation, despoliation, desperation, and despair. The rich are getting stupendously richer and the poor more poorer.
Many are becoming homeless and compelled to depend on Foodbanks that are getting depleted on regular basis and running out of food. We see a crisis which is both global and systemic whereby many people and families are facing very difficult times. A 3-square meal is becoming a rarity whilst a balanced diet to many is nothing but something you read from the fiction books. The number of the unemployed is growing daily, millions are underemployed, the lucky ones who are employed are, more often than not, grossly underpaid; or worse still have not been paid their salaries for months.

Consequently, many kids have been withdrawn from school due to parents’ inability to pay their fees while many others go to bed on empty stomach or compelled by their circumstances to observe compulsory fasting. The pandemic and climate change issues have further foisted a regime of hardship, debilitating living standards, grave health, and emotional situation.
The third option is to decide to be a disruptive leader in a world bedeviled with complexities and chaos of mind-boggling dimensions. We find the third option to be more viable if we are to raise the banner and help make our world a better place.
Generally, we look out fo underprivileged, underse distressed, or dispossess
Against the backdrop of these scenarios of worsening economic crisis, spiraling unemployment, increasing inflationary trends, corruption at high levels and hyperinflation, is a gloomy illustration of a truly chaotic world. As leaders, especially in the humanitarian terrain, you have several options open to you. One is to remain aloof and watch as things unfold, or the second, is to hang on to the forlorn hope that something might happen to change the tide over time.
As an introduction, I run a nonprofit profit called Hope Ambassadors and Childcare Organisation, with my wife, Mandy Olowu, which is jointly founded and funded by us. We have some trusted friends on board as directors and trustees of the organization. Our mission is to exemplify the love of God by helping and bringing hope and succor to people who are distressed, marginalized or underprivileged by the circumstances of their birth, status, or situation in life. Especially children who are orphans or from poor homes and women who are widows or suppressed and discriminated because of their gender.
This mandate is therefor by the day with ugly tren question is what to do in we navigate through the watching will most certa objectives.
So, what do we do:
Think out of the box 1
You can’t get through the abnormal by doing the normal things. The chaos in the world cannot be resolved by doing things the same way. Yes, you can not turn things around by using the solutions of yesterday to resolve the issues of today. The situation is more complicated. There is a need to be more pragmatic and find new ways of solving the problems of today and also be proactive to anticipate the problems of tomorrow and design solutions ahead to take care of them.
That’s the major problem we have with many organizations today who keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result. We are at a stage in the world where we have to use our challenges and complexities to drive us towards being more dynamic, more disruptive, more forward looking and more result-oriented. We have to set goals that are tenable, realistic, attainable and strive to achieve the same.

At Hope Ambassadors, we set out taking food to the hungry, the poor and the displaced in their camps and communities but soon realized that it is like taking a basket to the stream to fetch water. The more you feed, the more the mouth to feed continue to increase. It’s like you are doing much and achieving little. What did we do? We begin a Skill Acquisition and Empowerment Programme whereby a certain number of people are trained to acquire a skill and eventually empowered to start a trade. Then what happened? We begin to gradually remove people from the poverty circle and make them bread winners for their families. They also subsequently help to develop and inspire others to be self-reliant instead of being eternally dependent on charity.
Go The Extra Mile 2
To enable us breakaway from the norm, we have to find a way to exceed ourselves by going beyond ourselves. We can choose to do what everyone else is doing or be less bothered. However, we resolved to go the extra mile through building people as well as building infrastructures. During Covid-19 lockdown, we expanded our usual advocacy outreach by doing lots of on-line programme with children, youths, and women groups.
On infrastructure, we fortified our Handwash Enlightenment Programme (which incidentally been on for over 10years now) by constructing permanent concrete Handwash Stations and toilets in schools. Now we are sinking water boreholes in communities that have no potable drinking water supply.
We developed a scheme that enabled us recruit and train volunteers in several part of the country. Hitherto, we have to be physically present in all the places we have presentations and programmes. As we grow bigger and as the issue of security became a great challenge in the country, this is no longer feasible. Building young and strong volunteer team has been a strong win for Hope Ambassadors. Now we can have multiple programs in several towns and villages simultaneously in the country without being there. This has also helped to inbccreasse our outreach and expand reach!

Collaborate To Win 3
You achieve more when you work with others as a team rather than being a Lone Ranger. We understand the power of partnerships and collaborations and take advantage of it to the maximum. Our membership of Global Goodwill Ambassadors Foundation (GGAF) has given us great leverage to collaborate with humanitarians within the country, within the continent and across the globe. I am currently a Member of the Board of GGAF as well as the Vice President for Africa Affairs
.
Do Your Utmost Best 4
As a leader, we strive to do our utmost best in all circumstances, not for the accolade or the applause but out of the desire to serve humanity and make this world a better place than we met it.
Make Your Impact Felt 5
The passion of making your impact felt propel you towards breaking barriers and glass ceilings. We are not limited by where and how we carry out our humanitarian works and have had to volunteer in several countries whilst on vacation – USA, UK, Norway, Turkey, Spain etc. Everywhere we go, we carry our heart along. Our heart is philanthropy and we do not allow anything to limit us.
Leave A Lasting Legacy 6
The work we do, the life we impact, the projects we execute especially the infrastructures, the minds we develop,
The people we build –through our empowerment programmes, volunteer/internship programmes shall definitely outlive us and that will be our lasting legacies. We have no doubt in our minds that some of our volunteers shall one day become greater philanthropists than us. Hence, we are replicating ourselves in them through inspirational and disruptive leadership that looks beyond the present chaotic world into a better tomorrow.
