Chairman, 2017 Pinnacle Financial Partners Parade of Homes
Gazillions of Ideas! Welcome to the 2017 Pinnacle Financial Partners Parade of Homes at Witherspoon! It is with great enthusiasm
that we invite you to take advantage of this exciting opportunity to be inspired by the latest ideas in new home construction and interior design as you tour the SIX unforgettable homes constructed and designed with GAZILLIONS OF IDEAS just for you. Our sincere thanks to this year’s amazing group of Parade builders and designers for dedicating their time and skill to create these magnificent homes.
We thank the terrific team of professionals at Witherspoon and CPS Land for hosting the 2017 Pinnacle Financial Partners Parade of Homes. They have gone out of their way to provide all of the many individuals involved with the Parade every advantage and amenity needed to produce the best event possible. The 2017 Parade would not be possible without the support of our title sponsor, Pinnacle Financial Partners. We thank them for their support and encourage you to stop by their booth to meet their friendly team and drop off your vote for the “People’s Choice Awards.” The People’s Choice Awards are highly coveted by all the participants and your vote matters! Those attending the Parade during the first six days have the oppotunity to vote. The awards will be presented the second weekend of the Parade. This year our benefitting charity is the Williamson County Animal Center. As you tour the homes you’ll notice some very special dog houses in some of the back yards and might even be greeted by a friendly tail wag from its resident. Ask the attendant about the Williamson County Animal Center and how you can register to win one of the fabulous dog houses on display. So bring your camera and have your smartphone ready. Take your notes and ask questions. Bring your colors and your swatches and come back again . . . there are a gazillion ideas but only two weeks to enjoy it all!

About the Schumacher Homes Parade house design . . .
“Inspired by the grand, rustic, and refined nature of historical mansions across the English countryside,
Keith Schumacher of KS Home Builders and I worked together to design a luxury home reflective of an English Manor. Natural materials blended with superior craftsmanship give the home much of its English Manor style. The unique masonry finish with the application of rustic stained trim applied to the exterior walls highlights the use of natural materials from both inside and out. The interior spaces are a captivating combination of wood detail and masonry finish. Some of my favorite features of this house include the reclaimed wood floors that run throughout the home and large rustic timber beams that frame the entryways and continue across the ceilings, giving the home its rustic yet refined nature. The tall ceiling offered the opportunity to provide interesting combinations of windows and doors resulting in an abundance of natural light throughout the plan design. Subtle details such as the curved staircase, seen upon entering the home, as well as arched doorways and masonry fireplaces give the home a sense of elegance and classical refinement indicative of the English Country Manor.” - Jack Herr
Reclaimed wood floors and timber beams a highlight in the Great Room and Foyer.

SPECTACULAR, CAPE COD INSPIRED, SHINGLE STYLE HOME FROM LEGEND HOMES boasts Tennessee Grey Limestone, coastal influences, and striking roof lines. Enter the oversized metal front door into the Foyer and you are immediately greeted with sweeping 12-foot ceilings and beautiful taupe wood floors. The Study features freestanding shelves, classic art, and a mix of textures that create an inviting and elevated entertaining space. An organic embroidered wallpaper provides a backdrop for a mix of modern and traditional furnishings in the Dining Room. The floral window treatments offer a pop of color and pattern. The Family Room, Kitchen and Breakfast Area make up the heart of this home. A warm taupe stain is repeated in the beams that line the ceiling, a custom hood, and simple, French inspired fireplace mantel. The Kitchen has light, bright cabinets with concealed appliances for a softer, cohesive feel. The Breakfast Area has a classic farmhouse table with unique, metal chairs - all resting under a one-of-kind, handmade, horn chandelier. The Butler’s Pantry includes open and closed storage that serves both the dining room and wine room. The see-through Wine Cellar features the same black metal and lets you peek through the butler’s pantry beyond. The Prep Kitchen offers secondary appliances, additional storage, and a cooking space that can be closed off when entertaining. The Home Center has ship-lapped walls, a wallpapered ceiling and a modern take on floating desks. With the slide of a barn door, it can be quickly hidden but is beautiful enough to leave open all the time. The Media Room doubles as our “Pool House”. Draw the curtains and create a great space for movies, or open the doors and be part of the pool party while still being able to watch the game! The Laundry Room is a well thought out work room with expansive counters and generous storage. A chiseled edge stone floor and oversized crackle subway tile give another nod to historic design in the Pool Bath. The Guest Room has a peaked wall niche that creates a cozy space for a tufted bed with classic chests and mirrors. The Guest Bathroom has gorgeous marble porcelain tile. Shades of taupe and white create a calm, peaceful Master Bedroom. A vintage rug grounds the four-poster bed, while the drapes and a shagreen console add texture to enhance its “Brentwood meets the Hamptons” inspiration. The 12-foot ceilings provide grandeur and elegance in the Master Bathroom. From the entry, you can see two-tone master vanities, luxurious marble mosaic shower, and stained panel walls surrounding the soaking tub. Bedroom Four features a patterned wallpaper that is well balanced by a soft color palette and classic furnishings. The tall, lofted ceiling in Bedroom Five made this a natural fit for bunk beds. Layered colors and patterns in the bedding and whimsical art make this a fun and inviting room. The Bonus Room offers a full wall of cabinetry for entertaining or storage and the two-story TV room features a cupola ceiling and a cozy area for piling in and watching movies.

She and her team work with builders and clients throughout middle Tennessee to create polished and timeless designs. While each designer possesses a strong personal aesthetic, they work closely with each client to create spaces that reflect the client’s unique interests, travels and lifestyles. For this special project with Legend Homes Marie-Joe worked closely with Mary Catherine Cooper. Marie-Joe met MC seven years ago, when she was working in tile design. It only took one project for Marie-Joe to realize that given the opportunity, MC’s creativity and talent was capable of designing beautiful homes from start to finish. The stars finally aligned, and MC joined JFY Designs full time 2 years ago. While they typically work independently on their own projects, they continuously confer behind the scenes, elevating each other’s work in the process. For the Parade home, Marie-Joe turned to the Hamptons for inspiration. The intent was to create a classic, coastal look with a twist of Brentwood, Tennessee and a dash of modern edge. Marie-Joe has utilized the individual strengths of her entire team to bring a cohesive vision to life, and the result features clean lines rendered in warm tones and simple layered textures that come together to create a home that will feel fresh, inviting and functional for years to come.

“Annual visits to the beaches and townships of Cape Cod served as an initial inspiration for the
design of this Shingle style home. Working with the Legend Homes team, our mission was to create a luxury home that reflected the light and inviting nature of classic Cape coastal homes. The design team utilized a variety of textures, shapes, and details, seamlessly blending classic with contemporary elements to create a stylish, inviting, and visually interesting space. Plentiful windows around the home allow natural light to flow throughout and further accentuate the light and inviting feel that coastal homes so often exhibit. The homes of Cape Cod and the islands often combine creative rooflines and detailing with beautiful shake and stone materials. Natural light can be experienced in every space throughout the home by the use of window and door combinations with transoms, volume ceilings, and interior cupolas. Further interest is created in this home with the addition of a portico and hidden motor court. A favorite design element in this home is the rear porch with its cupola ceiling treatment that matches the bonus room with cupola vault, both generating an interesting play of light and space.” - Jack Herr

About the STONEGATE HOMES Parade house design . . .
“Respectful of the history of the land from which Witherspoon arose, Stonegate Homes requested
P.SHEA | DESIGN create a home both timeless and dramatic for the 2017 Pinnacle Financial Partners Parade of Homes. This Classical Revival home evokes an instant permanence in its stone façade, ample porches, limestone detailing and exquisite proportions. Dual fireplaces anchor the home’s primary façade, refining the home’s balanced exterior composition, while adding warmth to the homes interior spaces. Inside, stunning ten foot tall interior doors (a design favorite) highlight the twelve foot ceilings throughout the main living spaces. Classically-inspired millwork thresholds, brick flooring and furniture niches, intertwine seamlessly with modern features such as a centrally located storm shelter, wet bar and hidden safe room. Informal and informal dining areas and a large study/music room ensure ample space for entertaining, while two bedroom suites on the main level provide for flexible accommodations. Ample use of windows and purposeful arrangement of secondary jewel-box rooms, add warmth, brightness and a causal quality to an otherwise breathtaking home.” - Preston Shea

Designer’s notes Mrs. Paranjape Design + Interiors - Lori Paranjape LORI PARANJAPE - Mrs. Paranjape Design + Interiors I’m a design lover and inspiration junkie. Design is my way to connect. It’s my way to let my clients know that they’ve been heard and understood. It’s how I show I care about their comfort, and their needs. When I think about how long my projects will last, I feel the heady responsibility to make sure I am careful, and thoughtful, and timeless. The fuel for my fire is inspiration. I actively look for the *poof* when I think of something I haven’t thought of before…or a way to use an idea that was always good, but didn’t fit until now. I feel like there is a deep well of ideas that is waiting for the right client; the right project. The moment the idea becomes clear, or the usage reveals itself, is the moment I crave. I have the great responsibility of accompanying clients during the largest expenditure of their lives. The numbers can be scary, the cost of building materials, land, lighting, appliances, furnishings, window treatments and every other detail. The good news is, I’ve been here before. I can help sort through the likes to get to the loves. I can share my experience to know when to splurge and when to stay conservative. I am honored to be a part of the building of personal spaces…the places my clients call home. On the personal side, home is my husband, kids and two pups. We are a dinner at the table, piled up in bed, kiss before you leave, love you at your worst, giggle when it’s funny kind of family. BARLOW BUILDERS - HOUSE DESIGN @cw_design_arc C.W. Design - 615.456.2864 CHAMP WEBB - C.W. Design Nearing the end of college at SIU, I was working intern/free-lance for Gresham & Associates Architects in Kentucky. While working on schematic designs for only one commercial office building (a less than interesting one) I really knew my focus moving forward would be residential architecture. I had an interest in residential, my dad was a builder, so I grew up helping him with design/build projects, building a great amount of experience along the way. I soon swerved away from commercial and continued my aspirations toward luxury homes. Looking for more opportunities, I moved to Nashville. In 2001, I began working with custom builder Rork Thomas on a new townhome project. The project was a design/build project, so including the architectural work, I was handling a fair amount of the construction management tasks of completing such a project. I continued working with more builders throughout the years for several custom designed homes all across Nashville, including Belle Meade, Brentwood, Green Hills, Franklin and more. Over the years, my passion for designing luxury homes and my firm C.W. Design have continued to grow, learn, and improve on every aspect of residential architecture. A real passion for meeting new clients and getting to know them and their lifestyle, so I can set the best path to bring their ideas of what home means to them. Listening and transcribing those dreams into concepts, schematic designs and plans to evolve into a home created and built for them.
About the Barlow Builders Parade house design . . .
“Late last summer, Austin Pennington, J.R. Rollins and I teamed up to begin discussions for
the concept and feel of the Barlow Builders Parade house. Directed mostly by Austin, we navigated toward a timeless English Country façade. Concepts and ideas included very light colors, painted brick, bronze or black windows, and an open floorplan with key elements of style that was also compatible with everyday family activities. There’s a fine line with a show home; you have to bring the ‘wow factor’ while maintaining functionality. Soon after I designed the front elevation and the first and second floor plan layouts, we brought in Lori Paranjape for interior design. From working with Lori in the past, she’s the best at pulling in an edgy modern feel to a classic architectural style. This home blends style and function as well as any home we have designed. This home has immense style throughout. Black steel frame glass doors are featured on both the exterior of the home as well as some of the interior rooms, one of many elements that bring the outside inside throughout the house. From the sophisticated study, to the relaxing family room, veranda and pool… to the ‘wall of wine’ behind the steel/glass doors in the dining room… the breathtaking master closet featuring a mezzanine level… to the full function custom kitchen and pantry. - Champ Webb

About the Castle Homes Parade house design . . .
The Contemporary English Country style home takes its main architectural design influence from the British architect, Sir Edwin Lutyens, the notable pioneer of the 20th Century English Arts and Crafts style. The collaborative team approach with Castle Homes and home designer Kevin Coffey has resulted in a home based on historical precedent with a modern day design perspective achieving a home with architectural integrity. It is an evolution in design taking the past and weaving a fresh perspective on how families want to live today. Favorite elements of the house for Coffey would be the entry sequence that leads you into a courtyard on axis with the large bank of windows allowing you to view through the house, turning to the left into an understated covered entry porch much like its Arts and Crafts precedents, and leads to the entry door that opens to the main living spaces.

Chad earned his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of Tennessee, and began his career in design with Edwards + Hotchkiss, Architects, gaining experience in all types of architectural design and construction administration, including custom residences. For the last 11 years, Chad has led his team in designing and documenting more than 500 homes in middle Tennessee, in prestigious communities including Laurelbrooke, Westhaven, Windstone, Annandale, Berry Farms, Richland Hall, and now Witherspoon. It is a common refrain among Ford’s clients that its design team excels at first listening to their clients, and then promptly delivering a home design that exceeds expectations.
About the FORD CUSTOM CLASSIC HOMES Parade house design . . .
Ford’s goal for their entry into the Parade of Homes was to capture the rich, rustic character
of French cottages, balanced with the grandeur and sophistication found in France’s estate and manor houses. The careful mix of materials, predominantly stone, complements the compound forms of the steeply pitched roof that is typical of this style. Shutters and stained wood accents add a feel of craftsmanship, and aid in giving the exterior of the home a more approachable, human scale. The interior spaces are planned with an abundance of open gathering space for entertaining, and well-appointed amenities for everyday living. There are covered porches on the back of the house on all three levels, and five luxurious bedroom suites on the main two floors, including his-and-her baths and closets in the master suite. Chad highlights a few of his favorite elements: “I am excited about the hearth room. I envision a comfortable spot tucked away from the main living space, but without sacrificing the gorgeous views of the back yard. It will be perfect for morning coffee, for enjoying a book after dinner, and to house quieter conversations as a dinner party grows louder. I also think the outdoor living areas are special for many reasons, not least of which is the wonderful setting. I can imagine sitting by the fire on the back porch in late fall, enjoying the view of the springhouse among the trees just off of the back of the property.”
