This library

is a cornerstone of democracy and hope where all are welcome, respected, valued and included. Lois Langer Thompson

Long a bedrock belief of public libraries, Hennepin County Library renewed our commitment to welcoming all in 2017. Maybe you’ve seen this message posted at the entrance to your local library, on our website or social media channels, or on a button worn by library staff. It is important for that message to be visible, but above all, I hope it reflects your experience in our spaces and using our services. We are a safe place to learn, think and connect. Explore our books and digital resources, seek out learning and volunteer opportunities, and do it all with the help of our expert staff. We invite you to join us here. This library is for you.

LOIS LANGER THOMPSON

Hennepin County Library Director
