quick revision tips! 1. Pomodoro technique: This time management method involves doing work in 25-minute intervals, or “Pomodoros”, with a 5-minute break (try to stay off your phone!) in between. After 3-4 Pomodoros, take a longer 20-30 minute break, and begin a new cycle.

2. Find an organisation system that works for you! Be it an intricately decorated bullet journal, a simple notepad and pen, or the Google Calendar app, have a space to record down all your deadlines and plan ahead. This will help greatly in balancing your CCA, SL projects, and other passions that call out to you in your 2 years in JC. 3. Active recall and spaced repetition Active recall: Try testing yourself, or using flashcards! By actively stimulating yourself and challenging yourself to remember what you learnt, you learn information much more effectively than through passive learning (e.g, re-reading your notes - sounds familiar?) Spaced repetition: Incorporate increasing intervals of time between each review of study material. When reviewing, be sure to practise active recall!

e d i u g C J to The JC grind is about to begin, and to the C1s, feeling lost amidst time tunnels and supply curves is perfectly normal. As Orientation draws to a close, you may see less SODACHE and more lecture books, but fret not, for we hope to provide you with some guidance in this article, and introduce some tried-and-tested study techniques and places to get you in the game. To the C2s, don’t feel left out! Feel free to use any of the tips here to tide you through the remaining months of your JC life - and beyond.

places to study Benches at Block D Pros: Relatively quiet, breezy, and near the gate so you can dash home quickly after studying.

Class Benches Pros: Great for studying with friends and to have some fun. Cons: Not so great for actual studying.

Cons: Tends to be a popular spot for after-school sporting activities, so it can get a little noisy.

Library: Pros: The library is the most obvious place to study, and for good reason. It has ample resources, aircon, and most importantly, peace and quiet. Cons: Too cold, too quiet and tooooooo many people (The College Library is closed at the moment, but it will reopen soon so do look out!) The Present Issue

Choose the perfect denim jeans by finding a balance between style, comfort, and practicality. Denim jeans, when paired together with a buttoned up shirt, will definitely make you look not only more presentable but also more appealing. Put on a pair of sneakers that suit your style and that’s it!

who? what ? wear. With Singapore’s all year round summer, the popular spring and fall collections with thick coats and long scarfs are sadly inapplicable to us. Hence, we have come up with a few tips for us to keep cool but fashionable at the same time.

Wang Xiao Long 18S65

Pairing your denim shorts with a fashionable top can instantly change the game. Choose a cute, lightweight fabric top to keep it fresh and cute for your next outing. This outfit is easy to pull off, just put on some sneakers and you are ready to head out.

These shorts can be easily paired with button-up shirts, as well as slip on shoes, in which it would be best if the socks were to be hidden. The shorts should not go beyond two to three inches above the knee.

Saciin Esan D Maran 18S7C

Rompers are a great addition to your summer wardrobe. They can be worn for various events, from casual meet ups with your friends to semi-formal events. The nature of the one piece garment allows you to appear leaner and longer, as long as the size is right! Make sure that you have enough breathing room in your outfit, and don’t hesitate to top off your look with a cute belt to accentuate your waist. Kylie Chan 18S71 The Present Issue
