We have a plan...
THE PATH FORWARD
...to safely and swiftly reopen our economy www.ThePathForward.org What it is: A comprehensive plan that lays out an incremental and step-by-step approach to help reopen our businesses safely and swiftly. We are distributing this plan to all businesses, local governments, and the community. You can find it by clicking here.
What’s the goal? To conduct business while keeping our residents, guests, and workforce safe and minimize transmission of the COVID-19.
Who is involved? This is an inclusive community initiative. Nine task forces included
representatives from the business community as well as residents and government leaders. The steering committee is comprised of the chairs of each task force, consultants from the healthcare industry, and government leaders.

They Took The Pledge
Over 200 businesses have taken the Path Forward pledge to show their commitment to customer and workforce safety. “The path forward is important to us as a church on Hilton Head Island because of how much we value the safety and health of every person who steps foot on our church campus. We are not being fearful but responsible. We value the opportunity to work with other churches as we come together to follow best practices in reopening our church campus to our community.” - Todd & Cynthia Cullen, Hilton Head Island Community Church & Chair of the Faith-Based Task Force
“Safety has and always will be our number one priority at the Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island. As we prepare to once again open our doors to our club kids, we take “the pledge” to promise to use safety as our guiding compass in all our decision along the way!” - Kim Likins, director of the Boys & Girls Club of Hilton Head Island & Chair of the Childcare Task Force 6

"It will allow us, across business sectors, unite together and say to our guests: we thought this through, we have great guidelines in place that work to meet the needs of the CDC and the greater state needs to make sure you are in a safe environment no matter what business you interact with." - Alan Wolf, president at the SERG Restaurant Group, and chair of the restaurant task force
“The Path Forward was a wonderful opportunity for island businesses to collaborate and work together to identify the best practices to keep our employees, our community, and our visitors safe as we rise to meet the challenges of COVID-19. I believe the Path Forward will make our local business community stronger and more responsive to our employees, our community, and our customers. - Keith Walston, owner of Vagabond Cruise and chair of the Small Business Task Force.
