Summer School
Summer isn’t just a great time to catch up, it’s a great time to speed ahead! The Minneapolis Public Schools’ summer school program strives to make rigorous academics fun, enhancing the basic curriculum with hands-on learning techniques for students who qualify. Take a look at the programs available for your student! Students entering Grades Pre-K - 8: • MPS Summer School • GEMS/GISE/STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Students entering Grade 9: • Fast Track Scholars: Earn high school credits • Camp 2016: Meet future classmates and teachers at your new school for the 2012-2013 school year Students entering Grades 10 - 12: • Jumpstart to College: tuition-free, pre-college classes • Opportunities for credit recovery at most high schools

Resources are available to help families meet basic needs such as meals, clothing and shelter over the summer. Summer Meals Program
• MPS sponsors the summer meals program in local schools, parks and community sites. • Meals are served free to children aged 1 - 18 from June 11 - August 17. • Call 612.668.2820 to learn more.

= NEVER leave your safe zone. Never go with someone you don’t know or met online. = GET help when you need it. Call 911 or 211 for help. Curfew is not just a good idea, it is the law. Youth under 12: Be home by 9 p.m. Youth ages 12-14: Be home by 10 p.m. Youth ages 15-17: Curfew is 11 p.m. *Curfew is one hour later on weekends.
