Looking back is something we do only once a year.
Our heads still full of future plannings, ideas and tasks on this and that, we feel it is good to have a brief moment of reflection on the past year. Oh, what a joy, and oh what a pain that was... 2+1 Hernia’s, computer blowups and personal losses. Life. We still smile. Workaholics? Do we love the pain? Are these 30inch screens also suntanners? Do we forget the days, months and seasons? Next year will be different. Oh what a joy we had these couple of days doing nothing, looking at the sun, the sea, freezing our balls off. Next year is far way, we are already in the O-Ninemode. It takes us a few seconds and these 2 are back on track. Plans and dreams? What will be different? Everything, nothing.
Music will help us get
through the winter. Dom-didi-dom-dididom-dom. Like a thrilla in Manilla. Better watch your tongue. Looking forward to a new Massive Attack too. Personal touches. Revealing your dreams can be disappointing. Plans on the other hand... What will KillerToys come up with this year? Is this a New Years’ paper? Or is it the beginning of something new? Oh, the salty aftertaste of morningglory on our tongues. This year we will wake up. We all have to start feeling what’s really going on out there. Who wants his life spread on a flat screen? Are we all the same? Where is the joy? Is some left of the punk inside us? What gives us that kick-start? Questions.
What follows is a collection of images and thoughts on projects that have passed these recent days and months. No order of importance here, nor alphabetic or chronical setup. There is a big chunck of goodies that is left out, a bit of hunger is good. We are working hard on our website, and hope/ feel it is a january thing, yesh indeed. That will be a good place to gather all projects and facts. This is as brief as it gets. Twenty pages of Hectica mishmash. Enough talks, enjoy the ride and see you all very soon. Kids are different, and every kid is a
start of something big. The simplicity of a smile. The joy of a group. This book started at a symposium on pedagogic leadership and created a new movement in Belgian educational playground. The kids were portrayed on their own scholar playground, and what started as an attempt to pull some of them –very timidly– in front of the lens, ended as a tremendous experience of extraordinary and positive interaction. Between the kids and the kids, and between them and us. Walking back home, the energy we felt was amazing. Chaos. Beauty. Future.
Recollection is a bitch. . Looking forward is a babe.

MRS by MAP is a
graphic voyage we set through the fantasyland of red planet Mars. Former paperwonderland MAP, now Antalis distributed all beauties like Keaykolor, Skin, Conqueror,
Curious Translucent, ofcourse we used them all. The cover was perforated by laser, UFO’s became mirrored foil, and without actually setting foot on it, we were able to say: MRS, Hectica was there.
Important are the things you do. Nevertheless, doing it with a smile helps you big time.
