Red Ribbon Campus Planning and Design-North China University of Technology -North China University of Technology, China -Prof. Fan Fu, Lecturer Xin Yang -Landscaping Planing and Design(2) -Duration: 7 weeks/fall '11 The project of North China University of Technology campus planning is based on the current situation of the campus, and does some partial design. North China University of Technology, located in the west of Beijing, is a modern comprehensive university. And the school has a long history, focusing on the exchange and development. Because its landscape current situation is not good, so what we have done is to promote the Landscape effects and to encourage students to join outdoor activities.

Outdoor active degree-before adding red ribbon

Red ribbon's effect

Outdoor active degree-after adding red ribbon

Planting design

College students like to share things, such as ideas, activities, and thoughts. So my purpose is to allow students to enjoy the outdoors exchanges and activities. Red pavilion attract the eye, but also can provide outdoor shelter. I designed big steps on the east plaza, so that the students can take advantage of these spaces to have a rest.

My idea is to use a ribbon landscaping environment, and encouraging students to enjoy outdoor activities. The red colure represents young, energetic, and enthusiastic. And it lets the campus landscape cannot monotone. Not much change in the pattern of planning road, highlighting campus orderly. N 0

These landscape architectures have multi-functions. Students can put up some posters, and we also can plant in it. They let landscape more interesting. Perspective

The surrounding landscape of the University Hospital is complex but orderly, and I split large space to create the atmosphere of a small space. The dense vegetation provides a good outdoor activity space for the school hospital's patient. In the Current Situation, the university hospital surrounded by ancient cypress woods, I retained the woods, and the privacy understory space is a good place to rest and talk.

Supper block•supper farming ‘Vertical Farming’-The Planning of Beijing 798 Area -North China University of Technology, China -Prof. Fan Fu, Lecturer Xin Yang -Landscaping Planing and Design(3) -Duration: 7 weeks/spring '12 -Team Works ‘DAD-Dashanzi Art District's landscape elements is diversified. Tourism comes to Beijing to look at three places - the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, and DAD-Dashanzi Art District. "798" is very stylish and avant-garde. It is the coexistence of industry and art, and history and future in show of contemporary Chinese culture. To 798 is to look at the present China. When Columbia professor Dickson Despommier set out to solve America's food, water, and energy crises, he didn't just think big - he thought up. Despommier's stroke of genius, The Vertical Farm, has excited scientists, architects, and politicians around the globe.

"join us!" Design project2- the backyard of Jacobson House, Art Center -Jacobson house backyard design -Prof. Williams -LA Studio I (MLA) -Duration: 4 weeks/fall '13 SITE LOCATION: THE HISTORIC JACOBSON HOUSE is located on the northwest corner of the campus of The University of Oklahoma at 609 Chautauqua Avenue Norman, OK. U.S. The Jacobson House is at the corner of Chautauqua Ave. and W Boyd St. and it near the Library Bar & Grill and Catlett Music Center. SITE SIZE: The house is about 56.36’ length and 42.50’ width. 1 The landscape architect need retain the original landscape and architectural style that Jacobson kept. 2 The lowest elevation point is located in the backyard, which caused a lot of water collected between the Jacobson house and the big parking lot. 3 Because the limited space and the residential area around them, they cannot really enjoy the activities.
