Hambleton Parish Council
PREESALL TOWN COUNCIL (cont)
will no longer attend to stiles on public footpaths in Preesall and Knott End. The county council has indicated that it is a landowner’s responsibility to ensure rights of way are passable and safe. Landowners with issues regarding stiles on their property are therefore advised to work with the county council’s public rights of way team and to act to promote safety. Advice is available from the clerk to Preesall Town Council regarding contact details.

to the agenda.
Hambleton in Bloom
Back in July Hambleton was judged for the annual In Bloom competition. Councillors and volunteers all worked hard to prepare the village and it really did look good on the day. Thanks go out to all those involved. Keeping the village looking ‘blooming’ is not easy and volunteers are always needed. If you have some spare time and would like to help the village please contact the Clerk.
Best Kept Village
Following an inspection by Wyre Council engineers it has become apparent that, following recent vandalism, the bus shelter at Ryecroft Corner (used when travelling to Poulton) is damaged beyond repair and is due to be removed. Sadly there is no money in the budget to replace the shelter at this time. The Parish Council are in discussions with Wyre Council to ensure funds are available in 2022/23 to fund a replacement. Councillors recently walked around the village looking to identify areas that needed repair etc. One concern was the number of gardens where vegetation eg hedges, was hanging over pavements, making safe walking difficult or over the actual highways, in effect, narrowing roads and obstructing views at junctions. Can you please ensure that all vegetation from your garden is cut back to the line of your property to avoid difficulties for pedestrians and vehicles.
