Councillor Vacancy

The council interviewed five candidates for the remaining vacancy on the council and is pleased to announce that it resolved to coopt Steven Rossall who will take up office at the November meeting.

Pathway North of Esplanade Wall

Work is scheduled to commence in November to create a pathway on the grassed area to the north of the wall near the Battle of Britain memorial. This will make the seating in this area accessible to all.

Adoption of Planters

The concrete planters at the edge of the playing field car park have kindly been adopted by Carter’s School and are to be planted up by the children as part of a green initiative.

Home Allocations

The council remains committed to ensuring that housing associations follow the correct procedures when allocating properties in the township and provide a duty of care to tenants as per their tenancy agreements. The council has written to the appropriate bodies regarding local allocations.

Remembrance Sunday

This year’s event will be the same as last year and will not be a full public event with road closures. The Mayor of Wyre and the Mayor of Preesall will meet at the War memorial at 10:50am in readiness to lay wreaths in memory of those who lost their lives.

Christmas Lights

The Christmas lights will be switched on at 4:00pm on Sat 27th Nov. There will not be an official lighting ceremony.
