Keeping in Touch

I am pleased to be travelling around our beautiful, but sometimes wet, constituency. I never tire of visiting local groups, businesses etc.

As always, my mailbag has been full of letters covering a host of issues. I say it often but, please do keep the letters and emails coming.

Although I do pride myself on travelling around the constituency listening to residents, I can’t speak to everyone and it is vital for me to know the issues that concern people on a daily basis in order for me to carry out my role as your Member of Parliament. Please remember I’m here to help.

We must give our thanks our thanks to Joanne Helliwell who stepped in at the last moment. Joanne introduced us to an old friend, Betsy, who has now been promoted to housekeeper and known as Mrs Pickering. We enjoyed hearing about her escapades and were in tucks of laughter all night. This is not the end of Betsy’s story and we look forward to hearing more when Joanne returns next year.

Our next meting is on Wed 3rd Nov, 7:30pm at St Oswald’s Church Hall. It will be the AGM. Musical memories will be stirred by listening to the music played by John Burke and the competition will be a short written piece titled ‘My Teenage Idol’.
