Special Appeals Sox
Sox is the sweetest cat with the gentlest nature. She came into our care due to no fault of her own. Sadly, her previous owners had a change in circumstances which meant she couldn’t stay in her previous home. A few days into her stay with us, the staff noticed that Sox was having breathing difficulties so she was later booked into the vets for tests. A scan revealed that Sox was suffering with a diaphragmatic hernia and

needed major surgery to repair. The first surgery unfortunately didn’t work, however a second procedure proved to be a success and Sox has made a full recovery. She adores affection and enjoys the company of humans. She will head bump you and shows her gratitude by purring and dribbling away. Sox would prefer that her new owners were home a bit more often. She is looking for a home where she will the only pet and following the hernia surgery, our vet has recommended that she is kept indoors.
Sterling
This handsome hunk came into our care after being found as a stray.
When he was found, he had a large amount of scarring to one of his ears and needed treatment for an ear infection.
The thickened scarring on his ear flap has left him with a unique look. Adopters will need to closely monitor his ear and clean when necessary. Sterling is a more reserved yet friendly boy who loves to spend his days relaxing and having a snooze.
He is a big food lover so this is a great way to build a relationship with him. With the help of some tasty treats and a good chin rub, he is soon making friends.
As he has been used to the freedom of being outdoors, he is looking for a home where he can have safe access to outside away from main roads and railways.
Knott End Shop Closure
The trustees of RSPCA Blackpool and North Lancs Branch regret to announce that the financial position of the charity along with the trading performance of the retail section has led them to make the difficult decision not to continue with the lease for the Knott End charity shop. The shop will continue to trade until Sat 4th Dec when it will close its doors for the last time. The charity still operates its other two shops in Blackpool on Highfield Road and Talbot Road which will continue to welcome donations to support the continued success of the animal centre in Stalmine. For collections of donations, please contact us on 07434 537 232 to book a date/time in.
Bedding
Do you have any old blankets or bedding you can donate for the dogs in our care? If so we would be extremely grateful. Donations can be dropped off the animal centre any day between 8:30am and 5:00pm.
