Oh my! How fast this year has gone by and, as it comes to a close, I am sure a great many of you will be happy. As, like the previous year of 2020, I feel this year has been an equally topsy-turvy one for a great many. However, I do believe we are seeing a more stable style of life emerging. I also feel this year has once again showed what a wonderful loving community we have here in Hambleton as it has brought out a wonderful array of personal qualities. Thank you to all those who came and supported our Christmas fair. We know this time of the year is for celebrations and parties will be taking place. People will be out and about getting merry, but, please, stay safe. More importantly if you’re a single person, tell someone where you are going and when to expect you back - text them. At present there have been incidents occurring with Blackpool and Poulton areas whereby girls’ drinks have been spiked, and, even more worryingly, girls have been spiked by being injected. Do you feel lonely? Bored? Want company? Then come and join us for a brew and chat at our weekly coffee morning held every Wednesday, 10:30am - 12 noon. Finally, why not join us for this month’s soup and cake luncheon which will be held in the church hall on Sat 11th Dec at 12 noon - 1:00pm? The cost is just £4 - such a bargain! If you have a relative or friend who is ill in hospital then please let us know so we can try to arrange a chaplaincy member to pop in and have a chat with them at visiting hours. This is open to all members of our community. Contact Chris Lamb for more information. The church is back open fully so please do feel free to come along and join in the group events that use our church hall. I personally find the church building to be a place of solitude and a place to a have a moment’s quiet reflection, so why not pop in, sit, reflect and say a prayer with us. If you do not attend church but would like a prayer said for either yourself or someone you know, then please do not hesitate to contact us by dropping a note through the letterbox or emailing us. We will be more than happy to include it in our services. Finally, we wish all within our community and beyond to have a safe and happy festive period. Merry Christmas everyone. Please note, the church will not be open on Sun 26th Dec (Boxing Day). Otherwise, services are held every Sunday throughout the month at 10:00am. All are welcome to join us at our dog-friendly church.
